My son and I were coming from the airport and decided to stop in and grab a slice of pizza on our way home. We also were curious about what they offered on their buffet. The parking lot is small but thank goodness it wasn't full during rush hour traffic. As we entered we were greeted by a nice young lady who explained that they only offered cheese pizza slices for $3. My son and I ordered a slice each. They prepare them fresh because we were asked to have a seat and our food would be ready soon. The dining room is warm, clean, and inviting. We asked about the buffet that they advertised and we were told that pizza, different pastas, salad and breadsticks are offered but it had just closed at 3pm. She also mentioned that if we wanted a particular type of pizza then it would be prepared upon request. While we were waiting, an ample amount of customers were picking up orders and a few decided to dine in. After about 10 minutes a gentleman brought our pizza slices to our table. So I decided to order a large pizza and some breadsticks. The breadsticks for average and they forgot to add my sauce but I'm glad I checked the bag before I left. Honestly their deep dish pizza is amazing, but the customer service in this place is abysmal. It's 12:46 now and they close at 1 am. I called at 12 to check and see when they closed since Yelp never seems to give accurate hours in Dearborn. I ordered a pizza last night and told the dipstick on the phone "well done, but not burnt". I've ordered this before and never had an issue. So dipstick said "lightly done" and I told him again, no...well done. When I picked it up, I looked at it and asked him if he thought that was well done and dipstick said ya. He obviously doesn't know what he's doing. It was NOT BAKED all the way. It was too doughy and not crunchy. It was undercooked. It was the nastiest pizza ever!!!! I had to finish baking it in my toaster oven. I don't think I'll go back....mainly because the dipstick who took my order does not know how to relay messages to the pizza makers....a shame, since I've been a customer for over 25 years. Paisanos has been around since i was a child. The city of Dearborn should make this place a historic landmark. This was the place to go to during school lunches during the days of off campus lunch. Paisanos was top notch for years!! Recently they have fallen off for sure. It just feels different when you're there and you can defiantly see it in the food. I think new people have taken over the business maybe?? Lots of new faces in there. A few days ago I ordered a half turkey sub and some breadsticks. The two items that probably turned paisanos into a "local celebrity" in Dearborn. The sub was dry and the breadsticks just weren't what they used to be. The girl working the front was dryer than the sub she served me. My total was $8 and I was prompted with the "leave a tip" screen on the credit card machine, so I left $2. I seen her grab $2 in cash and put them somewhere, maybe in her tip stash. She didn't say thank you. Didn't even acknowledge the tip. She handed me my food and went on her way. 2 of my friends and I did the lunch special for $4. I was pleasantly surprised that the slice of pizza was deep dish.. it's almost two Normal little cesears deep dish slices that are uncut! It comes with bettermaid (go Michigan!!) chips and a can of pop! Pretty good for $4! We also got a large Greek salad (huge portion) and mozzarella sticks and deep fried mushrooms. I can't tell you enough how good this place is. I used to eat this place all the time and then I moved. It had been about 2 years and I went in and ordered breadsticks a turkey sub for the wife (tried it. Amazing. She loved it) a roast beef philly for myself and a mini pizza for a friend. The philly was very good. I like my subs packed so I ordered it jumbo, which means it comes with extra meat and cheese but not double. Wowzers. Do yourself a favor and get this. The bread was crispy and the meat was juicy and delicious. Honestly this is my favorite "philly" in town. There are a bunch of places like leftys (meh) and rickies (better than leftys but not as good as this). The breadsticks are circular tubes with Parmesan and garlic and butter. The brick oven makes this soft toasty bread hard to beat and a great side. The turkey sub is something I get often. My wife loved it. It doesn't come packed with turkey like a deli place but it's good. They make it with some oil seasoning and veggies. Toasted as well. The pizza I don't have a review on since it was a personal and my friend ate it. Last time I had the pizza it was pretty good. I don't remember it being outstanding but it's a good change of pace from the subs. Price wise is about average for the area. Don't expect to be broke after and don't expect to pay 4 bucks.
