Sareini's Pizzeria (May 5, 2025) I don't usually say this about any pizza, but this is perhaps the best pizza east of Chicago. It is also a thin crust pizza, while my preferred from Chicago is and will always be Stuffed pizza. The store is located in a totally non-descrip mini mall, and you can easily miss that if you did not intentionally try to locate it. The reason why I was there was that during my trip to Detroit early May 2025, I invited my Airbnb host in Dearborn, Mi tor dinner the night before I left the state. He Googled and discovered this place, highly rated, so we went on this food trip to satisfy both our tastes and curiosity. The owner was an elderly individual from an Arab country, and according to him, he would have retired from the business already but for his love for making pizzas. After 25+ years in this business, he did not expand simply because he wanted to assure the best quality pizza that will not be compromised. You may say a pizza is a pizza, but let me assure you that even with the best and freshest ingredients, it will never be as good without the care and love put into its preparation. I have no words to describe how good that first bite is, and every subsequent ones. It is more than a symphony in your mouth is the best I can say. The one unique thing about the pizza is how fresh the ingredients were, and cut into larger chunks to add texture. He also used red and gold peppers instead of the usual green peppers you find almost everywhere else. Those peppers add a totally different taste dimension that I have never tasted before. The little bit of leftovers I brought back to Seattle did not diminish the taste even after reheating 2 days later. That attests to how good that pizza is from the very beginning. What added to the experience were the many Old Detroit photos that aligned the walls of this place. When I asked him about them, he provided quite a bit of Old Detroit history that not many know about nowadays. The man is a master at what he does, and knows how to entertain his customers well while delivering a superior product. Please, please, please do not miss the opportunity to taste this pizza when you are close by, or if you have to drive an hour to get to the place. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. I wished I could remember his name so I can disclose it here, but you will recognize his kindness immediately if you meet him. Rating: 10+ out of 5. Happy Eating !! read more

I came in from Texas to visit my kids for Father's Day weekend. I have never been here or this state for that matter, but I knew that pizza was a Dad's go-to for hungry kids!!! The reviews were above average and stood out amongst the other competitors. So I planned a visit. The place didn't seem like much from outside in the parking lot and I even told my kids to not expect much than a pizza by the slice. I was mistaken. The owner was polite but in a hurry because they were closing soon so we ordered a pizza to go. A slight inconvenience but not knowing the business hours was not much to register a complaint. He gave me a military discount and further gave my kids some deserts at no charge. He also offered paper plates, napkins, unlimited condiments, and was very hospitable after learning that I was visiting from out of town! At the same time he began to be flooded with last minute customers. Seems like everyone knew the time he was about to close. He remained patient and ever so polite and courteous with everyone. We took the pizza to the hotel we were staying at and it was excellent! The garlic flavored pizza crust is amazing!!! My kids are going to frequent this place after I leave! I was very upset over the price of one slice of pizza here! I was kind of in a hurry and its my first time here so i ordered a slice of the pizza i saw in their case by the register. I'll admit i didn't look for a price nor did i ask but i figured a slice can't be that much, low and behold the woman charged me 4.00 for a medium regular slice of pizza! Yeah it had a lot of items but 4.00 for a slice is ridiculous! They don't heat the pizza up either so you get it just luke warm. It was not bad tasting pizza it just cost to darn much for a slice! I should have just slowed down a minute and ate at the Indian place a couple doors down. I don't mind paying the high price for a slice when its worth the price they charging and they make the pizza hot! But never again am i paying that for a slice I'll buy a whole pie instead. read more

I went to Sareini's for lunch again with a friend and had a much better experience. The pizza came fresh out of the oven just as I was arriving - it was piping hot, fresh, and delicious. The lunch combo was a very good value for the quality of pizza, the crust was delicious, and the staff didn't charge me for pepper flakes (I didn't ask for parmesan). Delicious (although slightly greasy) pizza at a reasonable price, a great walk-in deal! The table behind me had one of the "foldies" (looked like a calzone) and I think I want to try that next time I visit. read more

Always an odd experience going in here. They charge $1 for self service fountain drink refills, which I haven't seen in quite some time. They charge extra for packets of mayo. They sell bottles of soda which typically have expired dates on them, to which I was told didn't matter. I was told they would charge me extra if I use a credit card. Literally perfect. I'm not even a pizza person and I had a whole pizza by myself. Everything about it was delicious. Fresh, halal and fast. I happened to drive by this place when I hadn't eaten and was headed back to the hotel. I stopped in intending to order a slice but it was 7 pm and the owner was just doing full pies. He told me he would make me a personal size pizza though. He asked me what I wanted and then offered up a couple of suggestions after I told hi I wanted ham and pineapple.. he suggested bacon crumbles and rubbing the crust with garlic. I told him that would be great. While I waited he offered me a free drink so just took a cup of water. When he was done he came over and showed me the pizza and told me if I didn't like it he would remake it. This was the best experience I've had at a restaurant in a while. Awesome pizza! I was hesistant based on the reviews. In Dearborn, there are tons of family owned pizzerias which is amazzzzing because I get sick of the chains. However, its tough competition which makes it hard to choose different pizzerias. Pizza can often be hit or miss with these places because its obviously not uniform throught. At Sareinis there was excellent customer service and fresh toppings. I ordered a large veggie & cheese bread. It came out to about $28 which is pricier than other places but the man working gave me a free 2 liter. The pizza was smaller than other places but thicker and I usually love mine thin but this was crispy and well done like I asked. Also, canned mushrooms were used so I know thats always a bit more $. I thought that a perfect amount of cheese was used as well, no skimping on these cheese was done. These cheese bread was perfect but not special. The place looked pretty clean too so thats always a great peace of mind. Yes, this was pricer than usual however for the quality and done in 20 mins well, Im sold! Definitely recommend and definitely will be back! Give Sareinis a try! read more

I get so tired of chain pizza, so I'm always stoked to find a great local place. Sareinis is everything I could ask for. The crust is perfect, the toppings are always super fresh, real cheese (of course), and the sauce is to die for! The owner is proud to tell you that it comes directly from a top chef in Italy.
