We went to Eileen's because we had a last minute birthday jam. Wegman's fell through on our peanut butter pie a few hours before pickup!! I called Eileen's desperate for anything with peanut butter. A young woman with great customer service skills answered the phone and recommended the chocolate peanut butter cake. She explained it as double layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and crumbled peanut butter cups. I'm like, "Ok, it's not a cream pie but it'll have to do." They had one left, and she offered to set it aside for us. ABSOLUTELY THE MOST AMAZING CHOCOLATE CAKE I HAVE EVER HAD, and at an incredibly competitive price. I had this place booked marked every before moving to Buffalo. I am one of those types that will book mark places I want to hit up even before arriving. I aint got no time looking for places when I land, when I get there, i just wan to hit up the spots right away and plan my food tour. I finally got to visit this place when I was looking for a winter car that was a block away. It was not hard to find. The big sign says Eileen's Centerview Bakery. All the cars parked in the front also means its a good sign. I first walk in and i get hit with the smell of butter and amazing baked goods. my eyes opened up wide and everything looked Great. I get to the counter and the person who helped me was very friendly and answered all my questions i had. She said that the most popular item was a coffee cake which was a bit big for me so what I did was got an item that was similar that had all the same things in the Coffee cake. After that choice, I asked then what are other popular items and she directed me to two other items. I wish I remembered the names, but i was just mesmerized with all the goodies in the display case. Other reviews have said to try the donuts and I will try some next time for sure. But I can't wait to go back and try those goodies again and more. Walking into Eileen's is always a treat. The smells get you from outside the door exciting you to just walk in. Always greeted with friendly smiling faces. I've had a few different items but as of late we usually go in to get my daughters cookies. They are always baked fresh that day like everything in the shop. Taste so delicious. My family has been going to eileens for the last 30 plus years. Every one in the family loved all of there pastries cookies etc. However in the last year the product has really gone down hill. I don't know what happened but the last dozen or so times I been there it just don't taste the same. The last 3 or 4 times I been there all of there stuff has not been fresh like its been sitting in there display case for a couple of days. There pastry hearts are a major disappointment with there taste because they are so dry, I kept telling myself to give them another chance but the product has not improved and as a matter a fact its got worse. We love their coffee cakes. The walnut and the raspberry or blueberry filled French horns are 2 of our favorites. The almond rings are also delicious. This bakery tastes like my childhood. Every birthday, holiday, anniversary, etc. was celebrated with something delicious from Eileen's. When I was a kid, I loved the cookies - buttery, slightly crumbly and with just the right amount of shiny royal icing. As an adult, I crave the traditional Polish baked goods that I can't find outside of Western New York. The almond ring, and pastry hearts, are also superb. read more

We ran across this place completely by accident, the unassuming storefront does not give hint to the quality of treats they offer!! The staff was very attentive and quick, the variety of treats were almost overwhelming, and the prices were absolutely reasonable. I bought bavarian cream cupcakes and they were the BEST cupcakes I have ever had. I usually find the filling and frosting on cupcakes to be much too sweet and cupcakes almost always seem to be over cooked- but this cupcake was perfect! Not too sweet and perfectly moist! Definitely an eye opener the moment you walk in! They are not skimpy on any of their items, always fresh, and very tasty! The only downside that I had noticed was, most of the workers really need to get a personality! Don't get me wrong, they are very friendly, but zero personality! I have been here a couple of times and have been satisfied with the various items I have picked up. They have a huge selection including cookies, pastries, donuts, cakes, breads, and more. 1) Large pastries are very good like almond rings and cinnamon apple danishes. Have stopped here at least twice for my work breakfast club and many people were happy and took seconds. 2) I ordered the cake for my best friend's bridal shower here. I did a half sheet with custard filling and it was big, decorated beautifully, and delicious. It was $50, but everyone liked it and served a lot on slices. My only issue was I went in person to place the order about 2 weeks before and specifically noted to the counter attendant regarding my friend's first name being spelled slightly differently than what is usually (missing a letter). I decided to be on the safe side to ask to pick up earlier than I needed. I guess I am glad I did because they brought it out and my friend's name was misspelled. They pulled out the order slip and the girls up front noted it was spelled correctly there, but they didn't check it over in the back. They scared me with saying they may have to redo the whole cake because it was red lettering on white frosting, but thankfully after about 15 minutes, they redid my friend's name and it looked fine. I wasn't offered any discount or anything though. 3) The smaller pastries are good, but some have been a little more dried out than I would like. Service is excellent. Any of the counter attendants I have seen are always friendly, willing to explain the products, and patient. I was in recently and an older gentleman who I assume was a regular was greeted warmly like a friend after a discussion about how he had been ill for many months and hadn't been in. UGH! After Several years, I re-visited this bakery. I remembered how wonderful they were and couldn't wait to indulge in some goodies. I bought an elephant ear, a cheese danish, and 2 cannoli. The cannoli were ok. The cheese danish was hard as a rock and completely flavorless. Instead of using puff pastry for the elephant ears, they used some kind of dough that reminded me of sweet bread made at Easter time - gross! Not a spoonful of Pumpernickel flour to be found in these loaves. I did slink out of there with a glazed twister (85 cents for a smallish doughnut), still searching for PUMPERNICKEL BREAD. Note to staff: please don't tell callers (I.e. prospective customers) that you make Pumpernickel bread from Pumpernickel dough when you don't. Well to start off with my family has been going there for 30 plus years. I always enjoyed everything from there almond rings to there Danish and cookies and many other treats. I thought the quality of the product was slipping a bit before this pandemic happened but I kept going back to give them many chances. After they opened back up I went there at least four times. There product has definitely gone down hill from the taste and the freshness. Last week I went there and bought a few things and it all tasted like it was sitting there for days. I hope for there sake things turn around with there quality but for me I have no desire to ever return after giving them many chances. Today, 2/18/15, I purchased 6 doughnuts. The cream was a delight but the cocoanut stix was actually hard. Very stale. Also the peanut stixs were not fresh. I have had them on a Monday when they were fresh, but I have also had the cocoanut be stale on 2 other occasions. One time I called and the woman said they do not sell stale items. When they mix fresh with stale...it is deceitful and my family will not go there any more. Their prices are higher than competition and when a product is worth it I don't care but not for stale items. Do they not realize that the customer does know the difference? They may think we are not steady customers,could that be? read more
