I took my car in this morning with a transmission "problem." Those are two words no one likes to pair together, right? Called me within one hour, telling me they had already fixed the "slight leak." Seriously with all the nails and screws laying around it's been like 6 times. Also had my brakes done, done well and inexpensively. Had oil changes, very happy again. OMG what in the Sam Blazes is that sound???? Took it to Dave, problem solved! Trust me...you can trust him. He fills my tires for me regularly because I am totally phobic of exploding them in my own face, and he never seems to mind. Saturday sucked. I drove from north Arvada into Denver to meet a friend and noticed my heater was not functioning real well. Stopped to get a coffee at Starbucks at Colfax and Krameria and stepped out of my car to be met by death fumes and steam pouring out from under my hood. So awesome. Fast forward through a lot of story telling. My engine was overheating. I left my car in the parking lot of 8th Ave Conoco and a lengthy voicemail on their machine. Closed Sunday, I had to wait until today for the prognosis. Couldn't find a leak. Drove it around, topped off my coolant, pressurized something, did a diagnostic check...it appears a lid had just popped loose and even though we'd filled it, it had still overheated because things weren't just right (evidently it's touchy?). Dave isn't charging me a dime for checking it out. There are good people out there, folks. Frequent their businesses. Make them thrive. These are the people that deserve it most. UPDATE: Car did not fare well on the way home. Problem still exists. Sad. Dave is very nice, but he didn't fix my car. read more

These guys are great, I've only had some routine maintenance done, including oil changes, check engine light, fix a flat, etc... However, they are always polite and fast, and hard working. Their prices for repair seem reasonable. They offer good advice on the things that go wrong with cars and what cars they as mechanics consider good and reliable. After reading the Yelp reviews, I decided to come here for my oil change. They were able to squeeze me in the day of, which was nice. It took about 40 minutes, which isn't too bad. But the oil change cost me $46 dollars! Oil changes cost about $30 at a Firestone. I don't think I'll come back here again. read more

I was impressed with the honesty and transparency while discussing the condition of the brakes on my car. These guys are the best! My car was leaking oil all over the place, and fast, to where I was putting 2-3 quarts in every 2-3 days!!! I mean, it was bad. I was so scared that my engine was going to blow or that there was something so majorly wrong with it, that my car was going to require a new engine. At the very least, I figured it was going to need a very expensive part. I'm a woman, and I know that most automotive repair shops see me as an easy target. I have no idea what to look for when my car is acting up. The oil leakage was so severe that I assumed it had to be the worst news. Well, guess what? It wasn't. The guys at 8th Avenue Conoco were super friendly and honest. Only a little over $100 later and my car was totally fixed! They were fast too. My car was done the same day I brought it in. They even fixed a power steering leak (I think that's what it was) that was caused by the previous mechanics who worked on my car. At no additional charge! After Sears automotive took 2 days to "fix" my car and concluded that it wasn't the alternator- the car died in heavy rush hour traffic on Colorado Boulevard and my daughter and I were put in a dangerous situation for two hours. I'm still amazed no one plowed into our car. Got it towed to 8th Avenue Conoco, which is just down the street from my house, and by noon the next day they had it fixed. Guess what? IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR! Never going to Sears again- and I'm not sure why we hadn't been to our neighborhood Conoco service station before, we're just idiots, but we will definitely be back. I met Dave the manager, told him my brakes problem, and he said he'd call within the hour with a diagnosis. After he gave me a ride back home...( top notch customer service right there) he drove my car, and called. I was figuring $600 plus, like "other" quotes I received, but it was 1/2 that price for parts, labor & taxes! He only suggests other repairs if he really really believes your car needs it. Dishonest. I was told that an oil change for my car was $40. After I paid, I saw that their sign quoted $35 for 4 quarts oil and $40 for 5 quarts. My car uses 3.5 quarts. I'm all for supporting local businesses but ripping people off is not cool. read more

Possibly the best mechanic in Colorado! I actually took my Jeep here, thinking that something might be wrong with the steering, and the head mechanic took it for a drive around the block, came back and told me nothing was wrong with it.
