I ordered the huevos rancheros, which unfortunately were plopped in a puddle of bean liquid with watery salsa on top, making the whole dish very soggy. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but the soggy texture made it difficult to enjoy. I would recommend getting the beans on the side. My mom ordered the spinach omelette, which ended up being mostly spinach, with one single piece of bacon, and was quite dry. First off, Lilly the server and hostess was great. She was the only front of the house staff; seating, serving, and bussing the entire establishment on her own. She was upbeat, her disposition amazing. Friendly, professional, while being overworked. The food quantity was very good for the price paid. The food quality was okay. Most wild breakfast experience I've had in a hot minute. I wish we would have read reviews before stopping by. Listen to the reviews when they say there's un-eaten food everywhere. When we got there most of the tables in the back were not bussed and had lots of plates of barely eaten food which was not a great sign. The staff was very odd and kept squeezing past us at our table that was practically on the wall when there was so much open space to walk on the other side of it. They came to bring us waters and said most of their cups are dirty so this is all the could bring us and they would have to wash some to bring us more waters. The water also tasted like sewage. Was the worst water at a restaurant any of us ever drank. After one sip I couldn't drink anymore. They asked for our actual drink orders several times too between multiple staff. Another very unusual aspect was that they had the same song on repeat the whole time we were there. Man I need by Olivia dean played like 8 plus times in a row before we finally asked them why this was happening. They told us there was a fire in the kitchen so they didn't notice it was on repeat????!!!! Then they changed it but just kept playing the same artists songs. After about three more of her other songs played they went back to playing the original song on repeat again. The food finally came and several of us had messed up orders but we were too fearful to send them back. The food was so bad none of us really enjoyed it. The worst of it all was the potatoes we all got. Absolutely no seasoning and they tasted severely under cooked. The coffees everyone got also tasted like straight sugar water they couldn't even finish drinking them. Would 1000% not recommend this place. Listen to the bad reviews! Overall, just an okay experience with food quality, flavor, and service. I ordered the BLT Avocado Omelet and was disappointed that the omelet and potatoes were both pretty bland. I had to add quite a bit of salt for taste. The bacon was fatty and not cooked as much as it should have been. There was no crisp like a typical BLT. Our waitress went MIA on us and I kept having to ask another waitress for help, like our check and to go boxes, which I felt bad about. I'm hoping she got our tip since she picked up the slack and did all the work for us, other than taking our order. The dining area was clean, but service was disorganized and lacking. EGGTOWN Sarasota on Fruitville Road is showy decor with no substance. Food is poorly configured and underwhelming. Strange choices of configurations on the menu. I ended up asking if I could just get a ham, cheese, and onion omelette. I got a very disappointing attempt at an omelet. What I call a lazy, sloppy, dry egg omelette with ham and uncooked onions tossed in the middle of the egg. Look at my picture and you will see the huge uncooked onion pieces. The onion weren't even cut small enough to get cooked. My husband got the avocado, spinach omelette. Same thing, dry egg with all the ingredients tossed onto the omelette and the other half of the dry egg flipped on top. Picture provided. The potatoes were also very large, but edible. My raisin toast was one slice of toast that was dry and cold, for the butter I had to spread on it, wouldn't even melt. My husband's biscuit was not sliced and it was not warm. The $16 price was steep for these lazy attempts of omelettes. The coffee is blah and has a very bland taste. Certainly not worthy of the $4.00 price per cup. Plus the server never came by to refill the coffee. So it really was $8.00 for 2 single cups of bland coffee! Service was unimpressive and needs some training. Plenty of staff, but one particular server felt she was in charge and kept giving instructions to the other servers in the middle of the dining room, loud enough for us all to hear. In fact, she was more concerned with making sure all the servers had the appropriate amount of tables, and not at all concerned with the service the customers were receiving. Also important to note: my husband said the Men's Room is terribly designed. When you open the wide bathroom door you see in front of you, the full view of the 2 urinals. So anyone standing there doing their business will be fully seen from the outside as the door is opened. Totally embarrassing for anyone outside the restroom and anyone inside the bathroom. Overall, we were both disappointed and will not need to rush back anytime soon. read more

We went here for breakfast. The place is cute and severs were friendly. Just didn't love my meal. It was the eggtown skillet. The veggies were cooked well but the meats weren't great. The bacon was limp and I'm not sure but the meat had no flavor. Wish I had just done veggies. I was glad that the cheese could be swapped for Swiss. The potatoes on the bottom of the skillet were good. My nephew had waffles and bacon and they put powdered sugar on the bacon which was a bit weird and tasted weird too. But he like the waffles. My son had the triple 2. He liked the eggs and that they cooked the bacon longer, so it was much crisper. But his french toast was Cinnamon Toast Crunch was simply amazing the ice cream in the middle was vanilla ice cream and great to cut the sweetness of the rest of the plate. Not sure I'd go back. Don't say I didn't warn you! First impression , a/c not working properly, staff dripping in sweet and vacant tables with left behind plates full of food, that should've been a red flag! But we stayed... ordered coffee with a side of oat milk. Got our coffee poured the oat milk and immediately smell goat cheese like scent.. clumps of blue and green thick grossness filled the top of my mug yuck! Waitress was super nice immediately brought me a fresh cup of watered down coffee but heck that's not her fault! Food followed, husband and I got our dishes 4 minutes before the rest of the order came and let me tell you it was one disappointment after another! Nothing is fresh everything is frozen and cooked in tons of oil, every bite left oily lips and a rancid oil taste in mouth. Omelette was poorly executed and it just got worse . The tortillas were the killer for this dish though. 2. The everything bagel was not fresh and was a bit chewy. It appeared to be toasted, but that didn't really help. We've been here 3 times and I've been impressed at each visit. We've always been seated with Maria is friendly and very prompt with everything. She knows the menu well and I can tell is good at "selling" EggTown. She speaks highly of its owners and products. Even my 15?year old said "oh, she is good". I love the faux vegetation?? wall. We both had omelettes and I asked for fruit instead of potatoes and was told there was a $5 uncharge for fruit. A group of 3 or 4 have eaten lunch here at least 3 times and have always been happy with the food and service. The menu has so many interesting choices, hard to pick sometimes. The prices seemed a bit high but after considering the cost of the food (even wholesale) and the rent, the prices are not prohibitive. We love Eggtown, been to SR70 restaurant and the one at Honore, both were exceptional. The avocado BLT omlete is so good.
