Great breakfast spot out in Frisco (as the scores of reviews attest to)! Wear you stretchy pants because the servings are generous! And be prepared for a wait (especially on weekends) but the service is fast so the waits aren't terribly bad. I had the eggscellent skillet (2 eggs your way, cheese, peppers & chicken apple sausage) and highly recommend it! I'll definitely be back to try the crepes & pancakes next time! read more

My family and I (which was a party of 11) came in on July 9th. Dylan was our server & I must say he did an AMAZING job. He was quick with offering suggestions on what to order, observant with drinks and when to refill them & very accommodating when it came to replacing what I had ordered for something else. If you're in the Little Elm area & you're looking for a variety of breakfast or brunch food, I would definitely recommend coming here. First time visiting Eggsellent Cafe. I ordered the Chorizo Omelet with grits and wheat toast. The omelet was cooked to perfection! Very tender, not dry and it was one of the best chorizo omelets I've ever had! Also, the grits had a nice thick consistency. The coffee was good too, if you are looking for a robust cup of joe! Wow I stopped in this place for a cup of coffee The cashier ring it up told me a price her coworker made the coffee in anticipation and brought it to the front I said no I want an ice coffee so she had to change the price another $.80 but in the same cup That her coworker brought up before!! $4.87 for a 6/8 oz cup of coffee and I thought Starbucks was a rip off!! Update 4/25/19 Wow! This place had gone incredibly downhill so quickly. Recently, I have been here twice. Both times the service was subpar and the food is not nearly as good as it used to be. I ordered the chorizo burrito and turkey avocado wrap. I didn't care for neither. The chorizo was missing flavor. I think somehow salt was left out. The turkey wrap was all lettuce with very little turkey. I couldn't taste anything besides lettuce. This was the first time I had been to this location. Wasn't open on Thanksgiving day but tried today. Called ahead to make sure. It was a nice little breakfast place. The food was good except for the grits. Had to smother the grits with salt to mask the poor taste. But everything else was excellent including the pancakes. I ordered the Traditional breakfast, wife ordered the Benedict breakfast. Wife said the dish was excellent. We got our 4 year old the 1 egg kids breakfast which I thought was a large portion for a kids breakfast. He didn't finish his meal so we helped him. Would definitely recommend to anyone and return. I likely won't order grits here again, the hash browns was very good and fresh. read more

I ordered two yogurt parfaits to go and they literally came in the styrofoam to go boxes with just all ingredients poured into the box and then the boxes were stacked into a plastic bag. I don't know what else they did with it but when I got home (a two minute drive) the yogurt was dripping outside the to go boxes and there was yogurt on the lids as if they had flipped them upside down. read more

I've been here a couple of times, and I'm not sure exactly why everyone is rating this so high. Perhaps because there aren't many brunch options in this area. First time we were here, we were sat at a table that was up against a legit door. Not sure how that's legal, but the problem was that the sun was blaring through the window. It was causing my father's face to get burned and we asked if it could be covered. We were told no bc it is a door, but a table can be put in front of it? Makes zero sense. Second time we were there, we were the 2nd people on the list and was told 5 min for a table. 15-20 min later other groups with the same size parties were walking up and getting seated before us. It seemed that they were regulars, and I guess they allow them to cut in front of others in line? We almost left but decided it was too late to go elsewhere now. Eggs are okay. Pancakes are dry and meh. My SO didn't care for his waffle. It was under-cooked and bland. My father got an omelet and bacon and the bacon was so burned it was inedible. I've had much better....and much better at a place that served mimosas. Maybe their lunch offerings are better. read more

Today 6 of us ate here for the first time. We definitely will be going back. The service was outstanding with the food coming in a very close second. Of the 6 dishes, we would recommend all of them. They even have their own hot sauce that is delicious. You should certainly give this place a try. The owners are from Illinois but don't hold that against them. We frequent this establishment and love the people and food! They are the greatest... ONLY SUGGESTION AND CONCERN: This restaurant has got away from cleaning the tables with soap and water and only cleans with toxic Lysol brand cleaner which is extremely unhealthy to inhale. There is a strong Lysol odor in the restaurant that is the only turn off! I wish this favorite restaurant of ours would abandon this practice and go back to cleaning with soap and water as it is healthier all the way around. Chemical Pneumonia by exposure of patrons to Chems would not be anything I'd wish on this great restaurant! read more

Service was okay, but inconsistent and the waitress did not answer our questions. The food was not good. It was not seasoned and you could tell that most of it was cooked from frozen. The "sausage gravy" had no sausage in it and everything was bland. Could have made it better at home. Tried this cafe for the first time today! And I loved it. Walked I and was immediately seated. Our waitress was super nice and knowledgeable. We ordered breakfast and lunch. I had the burger and my bf had the pancake. Both were excellent choices. My burger was cooked to perfection and it was full of flavor. My bf's breakfast was also good. We stopped by today for a quick breakfast. The food was not good at all. Our server was nice, but the food was not what it used to be. We had to wait for quite a long time to receive our food, even though there were only a few customers. The bacon was very fatty and low quality. My husband said the sausage was like a hockey puck. The gravy tasted like flour and water with no flavor. I had some grits. They were under cooked and a bit crunchy. I landed in Dallas and several people recommended this restaurant so here I am. Unfortunately, I'm on somewhat of a diet so this is going to be challenging. Several people have encouraged me to try their steak and of course and tons of other meats that look delicious, including Elk tacos. thankfully, they came through with Texas corn, spicy green beans and charred broccolini, as well as a house salad. Dessert looks delicious and I'm definitely planning to return. Pro-Tip. They have happy hours, get here early to experience the rooftop happy hour.

Parking can be a bit chaotic so I highly recommend parking on the farther side closer to the Blue Mesa Grill! It was a scorcher and it doesn't feel like there's very much air flow once you get into the boardwalk as it half circles around a man-made pond so "Boardwalk" is a bit deceiving but there are plenty of really fun shops with patio fans and misters to keep you cool!
