Then I remembered this place was five miles away and that it had been a place I wanted to try out for its sandwiches and rib offerings. I didn't think I could do a rack of St. Louis' so I opted for a pulled pork sandwich instead. Man, was it good. It was a chunky boy, sopping wet in bbq sauce, on a good toasted roll. Every bite was delicious and hit my craving just right. And the baked beans side, small as it was, was a good pairing with it. But honestly when does baked beans or bbq beans not pair well with barbecue? The service was great. Everyone was super friendly, even stopping to talk a little NFL with me, as they were preparing my order. I imagine that's just the kind of butcher shop they are, always willing to engage in a little patter with everyone who comes in as they prepare your cuts of beef, pork, and chicken. As it is a butcher shop, the dining area is just interspersed among the shelves of the shop. It' definitely has the vibe of a place to shop for all your grilling and smoking needs than a proper restaurant. It didn't bother me at any rate, as after the first bite all I wanted to do was finish my sandwich. I don't imagine there's a huge clamoring for large parties to eat there anyway. It's more of a place to maybe sit for lunch on a break from your other errands. As such, the working meat shop fits the spot perfectly. I would come back here for more bbq sandwiches and maybe to pick up some cuts of meat someday. Too bad I didn't see any goat because if they had a good line on goat meat for some chili or stew, I'd be visiting a lot.

I swore off this location because it got so bad! But I live really close and my son really wanted JM sandwich so I gave it one more try. I can happily report, they have hired new employees that were Amazing! I went in on Sunday at 1pm, they had no line which was a bit weird. Four employees, and looked like one female mngr in the back. They were training a new guy and he was a sweetheart!!! I'm so glad it looks like they got rid of the rude employees! Made a perfect sandwich today and they even didn't scoff at me when I asked for soft 'not hard' bread like the last employees would do. Why they use hard bread and I have to ask for soft bread is beyond. But I guess that's just a JM thing. Maybe because they use so much vinegar and oil?! Not sure but the soft bread tastes soooo much better! I also have to ask for light oil because they really dump on the wet ingredients. Hence probably why they use hard bread. I haven't given up on them. Not five stars, before that happens, I will need to see consistency!

My go to is the breakfast chapin - black beans, scrambled eggs w/ onions + tomatoes, served with queso fresco & a side of bread. The black beans are always cooked to perfection with lots of flavor, the eggs are cooked perfectly & the bread is a nice warm touch. There is plenty of indoor seating & a nice outdoor space as well. The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5

I was greeted with a smile by Jessica the owner! Great service by her, Michael, and Jake! They do have a few tables to sit inside and outside to eat. We chose to sit inside because it's too hot outside for me. I started off by ordering a bottle of root beer. My friend got a fountain drink and she got half sweetened tea and half unsweetened tea mix. They do offer fountain sodas, teas, and Orange Bang drinks. Now to the foods! My friend and I both got West Coast cheesesteak sandwiches, makes sense because of the name of the place! However, we changed up on how we did both of them. Mine had provolone cheese, peppers, Jalapeños and mushrooms. My friends had poblano cheese, onions, mushrooms, peppers, and jalapeños. Let me tell you, both of these sandwiches were incredibly great! We did both share each other sandwiches. My favorite two ingredients of both sandwiches was the poblano cheese and the mushrooms. They make their poblano cheese sauce, fresh daily, and they really know how to cook a great mushroom here! We also had the chili cheese tots which are newer and also onion rings with the ranch dip. They have a really great chilly here and it's not too heavy and of course the cheddar cheese they put on it is amazing! Everything here tasted so good! You gotta come check this place out if you haven't already!!!
