Shop each location has something different on display. It's almost like visiting a mini museum. And love that a portion of each purchase and $3 bucket goes to buy lifesaving equipment for first responders. Stopped by en route to a mini roadtrip and ordered a couple sandwiches for the road. Previously tried the Hook and Ladder so stuck with the same as we prev enjoyed this and were in a rush. These were perfectly wrapped to eat on the go. They ask if you want wheat or white bread and if you want a pickle on the side. The bread was nice and chewy and very warm. Also, the bread was toasted on the bottom. I've never had Firehouse Subs before since the one location in Baldwin Park had closed down years ago. However, I figured that "National Meatball Day" was a good time to try it, but didn't realize the closest location was in La Verne. However, I decided to bust that mission simply so I could say that I've tried Firehouse Subs. I ordered the Firehouse Meatball and the Sweet and Spicy Meatball. To my surprise, it was actually very good. I've never had a good meatball sub, so there's no comparison at this moment except Subway. And to that extent, it's obviously better than Subway. I wish I could give this place a better review. I came here for a large New York Steamer, and I ordered it to eat in. Are the sandwiches supposed to be hot, or are they normally lukewarm? I tried the same sandwich before (also to eat in) and wanted to give Firehouse another shot. The cheese was melted, but I'm used to "hot" sandwiches having semblance of heat. If this is the second time I've had the sandwich this way, it's probably a normal thing. Lastly, while refilling the lids, a girl accidentally spilled some onto the floor when she opened the cabinet underneath the iced tea. She wanted to use those lids still or at the very least was joking about it. I'm glad her coworker was refilling the ice because he told her to throw them away as they were dirty. I appreciate seeing the four and five stars here, but unfortunately my experiences has been less than stellar. This Firehouse Subs location can be found in the same plaza as Vons and Ross, specifically right next door to The Habit with parking available. I came by this location twice, once on a Wednesday around 12:45 pm and once on a Friday, right when they opened (around 10:30 am). When my husband and I came on the Wednesday, it was definitely busy with a long line slowly building. The employees working behind the counter were busy making sandwiches and the girl who was taking orders had to leave the register to take care of the soda fountain dispenser (they have a fancy digital one). So I waited a while to order. On this visit we ended up ordering: Medium Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket on Wheat, $9.09 prior to tax- My husband ordered this sandwich and enjoyed it. I didn't try any. His sandwich came with a pickle, which is wrapped separately in a plastic bag (which is nice so that the pickle doesn't make your sandwich soggy). This sandwich comes with smoked beef brisket, cheese, mayonnaise and barbecue sauce. The size is good enough to make you feel satisfied and hold you 'til your next meal. Medium Engineer on Wheat, $8.49 prior to tax- I opted for a turkey sandwich that also had sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise and mustard. When I ordered, I requested to omit the onions (I'm not a fan of raw onions). I only had half a sandwich for lunch and saved the half for dinner that day. Since I was already charged for the cookie and didn't want to wait for a refund, especially with the long line behind me, I just got their lemon cookie but I didn't have any since I'm not a big fan of lemon cookies. But my husband enjoyed both. On my next visit on a Friday, I ended up ordering: Medium Firehouse Steak & Cheese, $8.49 prior to tax - Just reading the description, this sandwich reminded me of a Philly cheese steak so I decided to order it and see how it taste and was wondering how it would compare to the cheese steaks that I have had when I had visited Philadelphia last summer. This sandwich came with sautéed steak, provolone, sautéed bell peppers, onions, mayonnaise and mustard. I liked that the onions were cooked. I thought this was not bad (but not the same as the one's in Philly, sorry) and thought it was quite filling. Oh and yes this sandwich also came with a pickle that was wrapped separately too. Employees ate extremely apathetic and no sense of urgency. I tried ordering postmates, and went to go pick up but the order wasnt ready. Employees look up disinterested and then look back down. No attempt to engage, nor do they look busy. One of them is haphazardly trying to make a sandwich. I ask about my order and they reply that their online system is down. Then look back down. I tried to understand the hype of a 15 dollar sub, but between the apathetic attitudes of the employees, the insane wait times, and overpriced sandwiches, Id just avoid this chain all together. I came in tonight around 8pm 2 gentlemen and a girl were working all 3 staff members were so sweet i had told them how i drove almost and hour just to come get a sub they all had great service the store was clean and food was amazing they kept asking if we needed anything made sure our food tasted good. So T-Mobile offered a free medium sub from firehouse, i decided to pay them a visit. I have never heard of firehouse so i didn't know what to expect. COVID requirements were being followed by all employees. There were 4 employees if I'm not mistaken, it seemed like the one on the register was the manager, she seemed to know more than the other 3. The girls making the subs were ridiculously slow. We waited 10 mins for two subs. My first impression of the sub was it not only looked good but it smelled sooo good. I ordered the steak and cheese sub. However, it was very small and flat, and only less than half the sub had any meat in it. I was very disappointed. If they were running low on meat why didn't they just tell me. I basically ate bread with melted cheese and green bell pepper. I can't say if I'd give them another visit, since i didn't pay for the sub i don't feel like i can complain much, but who ever trained these employees needs to go back and retain them.
