Just heard about Tony's recently and decided to try it out while I was in the neighborhood. I can't believe I've missed it all these years, especially growing up in the area. We ordered two beef dips with potato salad and macaroni salad and everything was delicious. Beef dip had a good portion of meat on fresh bread, along with the au jus making it a simple but perfect sandwich. Potato salad was done right and my kids said the macaroni salad was really good. Even the pickle served on the side was good. Staff were friendly and service was efficient, we received our food shortly after ordering. Lots of open seating, with additional seating area over on the side. It has a cool old school deli vide with a hometown feel, and we loved all the memorabilia, Dodger's bobble heads and old photos. Definitely will be coming back soon.

Been in my bookmarks list for sometime and I'm always on the hunt for a good sandwich. This spot is nearby where I work so I decided to try it today. I ordered the beef dip sandwich and potato salad and it came out to about $16. I also asked for horseradish, hot mustard, and a pickle on the side. I thought the sandwich was a perfect size and the roast beef in it was a generous amount. The au jus was really good as it wasn't salty at all and it had a good beefy flavor. The restaurant has plenty of seating and the staff was very polite. I get a really homey/family feeling with the staff, so you know they'll take care of you. The vibe is very similar to Philippe's out in LA. The only thing that affected me was that there wasn't really any parking on the street. You may have to walk a little bit from where you park but it's not too bad. Solid quality food.

As of 3/3/26 Tony's has 4.3 stars out of 295 reviews. That's a solid number. I absolutely love hidden gem establishments. (Restaurants, coffee shops, pool halls, clothing stores, barbers, auto mechanics, etc.). Unfortunately, Tony's should remain hidden since it's far from being a gem. The 4.3 stars lured me to this spot. It's pretty divey inside, which gives it some charm I suppose. Two ladies were working the day I visited. 1 cashier and 1 sando prep. I ordered the 1/2 beef 1/2 pastrami dip. One sip of the au jus told me it was not going to be a good sando. The beef was typical roast beef. Nothing special. The pastrami was overly fatty. Not the melt in your mouth, delicious buttery fatty. The opposite of that. The bread was horrible. Really chewy and a taste like it wasn't baked long enough. I DO NOT like writing negative reviews, especially for small family businesses since I consider these kinds of small mom & pop shops as truly where dreams are made. I'm guessing this spot used to be a LOT better back in the day considering the 4.3 stars.

The oldest restaurant in Pomona, pumping out French Dips since 1958. This was my first time here. The place is very old school, in a divey neighborhood. Easy to park on the street and not crowded at all during the weekday lunch hour. Very nice staff, including one kind lady that has worked here for 50 years. Lots of seating and decorated like a place from the distant past. I loved it. I opted for the 1/2 and 1/2 so I was able to try both the pastrami and beef dip. The sandwich was delicious, but expensive. $17 for the sandwich, aju, pickle spear, peppers and a small potato salad. Honestly, you get a much bigger sandwich for $12 at The Hat but I enjoyed my meal nonetheless. I love old school places like this.

If you're in the mood for a really good French dip and don't mind paying a bit more for something done right, this spot hits the mark.

BEST FRENCH DIP IVE EVER HAVE IM NOT KIDDING YOU !!!! Service was very helpful and welcoming. Ambiance is my favorite part, Wooden seats and tables, a little bar area to sit, antiques and Budweiser beer signs all over the place. It's great, has that old charm to it. Definitely a 10/10 oh and don't skip out on the carrot cake soooo good !

Let's start with the service. The service was excellent, and the ladies were great and friendly. Great attitudes. All the way around. This place reminds me of Philippe The Original in Downtown Los Angeles. It was my first time coming here, and I like the vibe. They should have more signs because they are in an industrial area. So, I believe people just passed by this gem. The food was good, not like Philippe's, but good. The bun was dry. It feels like they didn't dip the sandwich. I got the half and half. I got half roast beef and half ham. The au jus does not have flavor. It tasted like water. That was disappointing. I would go back.

My husband had been to this restaurant before, but this was my first time. It's a cute little place with so much history. It was fun looking at all of the old pictures. They have plenty of tables and chairs if you want to dine in. We ordered it to go. We ordered a Half & Half, which is half beef dip and half pastrami. We also ordered a side of potato salad, as I heard it was amazing. When the cashier told my husband the total was $29.84, I was shocked! I wondered if they had charged him for two sandwiches. Nope, it was $23.50 for one sandwich! The half with pastrami was pretty lame. It didn't have much meat at all. The half with beef was a bit larger. However, we totally felt like we got ripped off. There is no way this sandwich is worth $23.50! It was good, but it wasn't that good. The potato salad was good, but I like the potato salad from Juan Pollo way more! If I ever go back, I would not order the Half & Half!

We arrived about 630 this evening, and there were four staff working, with the guy working the fire oven and the three gals building the pizzas. I specified that we wanted to have four build your own pizzas and then one of them needed to be gluten-free and could they please use separate gloves to put the toppings on? So two of the girls made the three regular crust pizzas while the third girl focused on making the gluten-free pizza. We really appreciated it. My person was so extremely generous with all of the toppings that I chose for my pizza that the thin crust almost couldn't handle it! I asked for a classic red sauce, mozzarella and goat cheese, pepperoni, jalapeños, black olives, mushrooms, sea salt, and oregano, artichokes, spinach. The guy operating the fire oven did a good job of leaving the pizzas in just long enough that the crest turned a little bit crispy. Perfect! He was also very generous with giving us crushed red pepper and Parmesan packets on the side. My beverage of choice was a mix of the lemonade and blood orange refreshers which they now store behind the counter and serve for you, whereas the sodas are self-serve with free refills (what's the story behind that I wonder?!) My pizza turned out so yummy. Blaze pizza is satisfying and yummy, but definitely best to eat on site rather than takeout because you don't want it to get soggy. I had two slices leftover which I look forward to heating up on a frying plan to make crispy later!

The girl helping me was nice and did a nice job assembling my order, but when I told her she gave me the wrong thing she got testy. Then she said it was a blend, but maybe it wasn't blended well because it was all spinach. We all make mistakes, but maybe if you don't know the difference, or if you accidentally grabbed the wrong one, just apologize and own it. The pizzas were tasty with fresh ingredients, so no complaints there. The place was clean. It is a bit pricey, but still good.

We came on a weekend and it was super busy (as it should be honestly with how amazing the food and service are). We got the blackened salmon with penne pasta and baby potatoes, and the flat iron steak with bow tie pasta and herb brown rice. The steak was cooked perfectly medium. The bow tie pasta is served cold and has a vinegary flavor to it, definitely a distinct taste, but I personally loved it because I enjoy sour/vinegary flavors. I can see why it might not be everyone's favorite though, but I personally really enjoyed it. The salmon was also super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Same with the penne pasta and potatoes. Honestly everything was just made really well and good. For the sauce, we got their popular jalapeno garlic sauce and it paired well with absolutely everything. Needless to say, this place was really good from head to toe. I also got to meet the owner and he was super friendly too. I seriously wish they would open one closer to my area. Parking was really easy and the ambience was lively with sports playing all around the bar and plenty of seating.
