But I live really close and my son really wanted JM sandwich so I gave it one more try. I can happily report, they have hired new employees that were Amazing! I went in on Sunday at 1pm, they had no line which was a bit weird. Four employees, and looked like one female mngr in the back. They were training a new guy and he was a sweetheart!!! He did not put the appropriate amount of cheese on the sandwich, and needed to be given instructions repeatedly for how to make a basic sandwich, and he also forgot bacon on a club. This guy is an imbicile and will likely be the cause of a covid-19 outbreak in LaVerne. With that said, this Jersey Mike's is usually exceptional! I love jersey mikes I always eat there never have issues with the food ! Even while writing this review the food was good but the service was not good. I came in with my boyfriend to get food and the 2 girls working were great and the man on register was also doing well. But they had an employee up front who was wrapping the sandwiches and he looked like he was as hight as kite he kept staring at my boyfriend and I without saying anything and would laugh and smirk the whole time we were in there. He was rude and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. This type of customer service is what make people not come back to establishments. I'd definitely reevaluate your staff. I'm writing this review in hopes the manager is made aware. I've been to this branch in particular (La Verne) twice this week and have been disappointed twice by the young staff they have there. The staff is absolutely rude and answer sarcastically. They have complete apathy when it comes to customer service and lack the fundamentals of being polite. When picking up my online order earlier, before my order I kindly asked if this was mine, and the young lady sarcastically replied to me "well yeah, that's you." It caught me off guard and I had told her she was absolutely rude. On another occasion the staff, a young man this time, was also rude to me while making my sandwich, which is why i went the online order pick up route this time around and as stated earlier in my story, was also a failure. Your staff aside from being rude, doesn't seem to like their job much and i don't know if they project it to the customers but I will definitely not be coming back to the La Verne branch anymore. I mainly order delivery and lately my orders have been completely wrong or missing. 3 weeks ago I ordered a sandwich, chips and cookie. I received the wrong chips and no cookie. Hi, Tons of mixed reviews on this place...... so even though it is close to home, we have been kind of hesitant to try. But, we took the chance about a month or so ago and have even come back a couple of times since. To walk in, our first impressions were only so so. The place is kind of small and there were not many people working there at the time we first stopped by to eat. The counter area where you order is loaded down with bags of chips out front which is not totally attractive. A soda (good selection with excellent Ice Tea) area is located off to the left, and an eating area with around maybe a dozen or so tables to sit at is located at the front of the store. There are also a couple of TV's on each wall playing whatever sporting even happens to be on at that moment. The volume was shut off though so you could not hear the game. This was a bit of a disappointment. When we got to the counter we were greeted warmly by Melissa. She asked if we had been there before. When we told her no, she explained the menu, about the food, and even informed us we each got a free cookie for being first time customers... Score on that! :-) The menu was very limited and Melissa informed us there we many "hidden" choices and we could go to the website and see what other choices we available or we could just ask her and she could "basically" make us anything we wanted. I guess you cannot ask for anything better than that. We asked about the Philly Cheese Steak. We were told we could not go wrong ordering it. We took Melissa's advice and ordered two, chose a couple of bags of chips and ordered a coke and an ice tea. Needless to say, we did not forget our free cookies either! :-) Melissa made the Cheese Steak sandwiches for us and she was totally right. The Philly Cheese Steak was/is Excellent! So good in fact, we have been back a couple of times for one and even brought in friends to try the same sandwich! Prices area a bit higher than some of the "other" sandwich places around, but I think the food quality is higher and I never get mad at paying a little more if the food is worth it! Bottom line is.... Yes, we are fans. I teetered back on forth on the rating try to determine it based upon all of our visits. Definitely 5 stars for food and the Service and Treatment given by Melissa on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, the place only gets 3 stars of speed of food delivery when there is even a small line in the shop. The line creeps and the prep area just does not seem to be set up to handle any kind of major volume. Since I only give 5 stars to the best of the best, and I am not allowed to give 4.5 stars, I am afraid I have to give Jersey Mikes 4 stars.
