Definitely a great place for breakfast or lunch. Been here a couple times and it has not disappointed. There's always people waiting to get seated but seems to run fast and smooth. The service is great and fast. Even though it gets hectic the service has always been good. I like how you get a small treat before your meal (crepe with jam) so yummy. The menu is quite extensive so it tends to overwhelm me. So usually I get the Chile verde huevos. I like those better than the huevos rancheros or their chorizo. So it's been a go to for me. Their coffee is good not watered down. Their apple and peach strudel is delish! I really like their apple with whip cream. Definitely a great spot in Simi Valley. Today I went to breakfast here with my Service Dog as I have before. She is a 14 lb Jack Russell Terrier. I was not allowed for her to sit in the booth with me, fine. We sat at a table in the middle where there was nobody seated at the tables. I ordered got my food and asked for an extra plate to cut up sausage for my dog, totally acceptable at every restaurant I've gone to. The waitress said you can't feed the dog here, I said can I have a to go container? She brings it, I cut up one sausage and set it down for my dog. The waitress came and said you can't feed her here. I said what? My dog was done by then. So, I picked up the container and as she walked away, she said, "if that is a real Service Dog you would know that ".! Discrimination right there! She has her vest on, I keep my Dr.'s letter with me as well as her official Service Dog identification card. Then the manager comes over to reiterate what the waitress said and that my dog needs to be under the table. She was sitting right next to me on her lead. Great friendly service, very big and comfortable place to have breakfast. Unlike most places, opens early at 7AM. Also, they have nice earlybird specials between 7-9 on weekdays. I would say the food is above average and the coffee is good. read more

This place has such a small-town feel to it, I love it. The food is always absolutely delicious and no matter what you get here, you're going to love it. I always get sourdough bread toast, so I've had my share of sourdough bread toast but the sourdough bread toast HERE is my absolute favorite. It's perfect and soft and ridiculously delicious. The eggs and the pancakes are super fluffy and they always have a good list of creative daily specials that don't disappoint. Not to mention, the price point is incredibly reasonable. This local chain of breakfast-focused restaurants also serves lunch. Dear Hubby and I experienced the Simi Valley location with me niece, nephew, and nephew's girlfriend a couple days ago. It was a Friday before noon when we arrived. The utilitarian exterior didn't provide a hint of the charming style inside. A large dining room is joined by a separate room to the right side as you enter. Both areas feature colorful murals depicting local Simi venues, including historic Strathearn Park. We learned that the interior had been renovated somewhat recently. It appeared bright and clean. Unfortunately, despite a friendly waitress and her busboy partner, food was slow to come out of the kitchen, and wasn't outstanding. They serve everyone a complimentary Swedish pancake, which is a sweet touch. Their version of crepes is actually a texture and flavor I enjoy; very close to Russian blinchiki that my grandmother used to make. I also loved French crepes. Viva variety, though! Aside from the Swedish pancakes, the rest of the food offerings seemed lackadaisical. Utilitarian. Adequate, but not special in any meaningful way. Coffee was good, and they have flavored creamer available, plus half and half. Old school sweetener options. They do offer a special eggs Benedict with avocado that looked like the best choice among our party. As I have to avoid egg yolks, my Benedict days are behind me, sadly. My niece's choice of the Swedish pancakes with fresh fruit and whipped cream must have been good, since they vanished quickly. I went for the simpler version with maple syrup as the flavor kick. Came here yesterday at 9 am for breakfast, with my family. My Dad comes here a lot! Waitress was nice, coffee was so so. My breakfast of eggs n things eggs Benedict was completely cold, not lukewarm but cold! Not sure how when the plate was hot, my sister said her scrambled eggs were cold too. I told the waitress to please nuke it, as I was starving, and they were busy. I didn't even eat half of it, some of the avocado was rotten as well. Brother in law had some unappetizing pork dish. Dad had blueberry pancakes and said they were fine, but who can screw tat up right? I would not return as my prior visits were nothing special either. read more

Eggs 'n' Things is a classic, old school breakfast and lunch place with locations throughout the north-west area of Los Angeles (Camarilla, Thousand Oaks, Valencia, Ventura) including this one in Simi Valley. Everyone loves a good breakfast place, and even if it's not particularly good, everyone enjoys the experience of being at a classic breakfast place which was generally our experience. It was pretty busy, as one would expect, on a Sunday late morning, but they still managed to seat us in 15 minutes. Crepes are their specialty. (Even if they pronounce it cray-pes) and they bring everyone a complimentary crepe which is at least half the excitement of eating here. The crepe was okay...it had a little blueberry sauce on it and powdered sugar. I've had much better crepes. Otherwise, the menu is basic but extensive for breakfast. I had the 2 egg breakfast with egg whites, hash browns, and biscuits. The eggs and hash browns were good enough, but neither had a lot of flavor. The hash browns were cooked correctly all the way through (not always a given at breakfast places) and not too greasy, but they were a little dry. The biscuit also tasted right but needed to be baked a little longer to get a little flakier on the inside. My wife had the Eggs 'n' Things, Benedict, without cheese or English muffin. She's gluten-free and wanted to see if they'd put it on spinach instead of the English muffin. They don't offer a gluten-free bread option and they were willing to do this, but it was an up-charge as opposed to a straight substitution. It came with eggs and tomatoes on top of a bed of spinach. She thought it was good, (except for the tomato which wasn't so great). The eggs were cooked well and the hollandaise sauce was nice and lemony. If you're looking for a classic, diner-like breakfast place, that's what you'll get here, and that may be enough. We do wish the food was prepared better and had a little more flavor. read more

If you like modern, chic, and urban, this is not that. My food came out in about 5 minutes from ordering. I've visited Eggs N Things a few times and it's a nice, consistent breakfast/Diner. The weekends can get busy so keep that in mind if you have a large party or don't want to wait. Their lot is big but also shared with Trader Joe's and a Target so there's parking but if all three get busy you might need to walk a little. The interior has a fun look of a farm fresh design, I thought that was a nice touch to make this a little different. One thing I really like is they give everyone a crepe to get started while you wait and is a great idea when they get busy to keep you happy to order. Ordering doesn't usually take too long and the kitchen seems to handle the busy time well. I've ordered a couple things but it's the breakfast basics, Omletes, pancakes, etc all come out great. I like they offer an option for biscuits and gravy. Watch for their specials menu as they have some rotating items. Their staff have all been friendly and are on top of orders. On my most recent visit I sat near the kitchen and saw the waitresses checking their orders to make sure everything was correct, I appreciate that level of detail. Overall I've had good experiences here, it's a good stop for breakfast if you're in the area. read more

I have been to this restaurant many times through the years and have always been happy with the quality of the food and excellent service. On my most recent visit 12/21/24 I and the other members of my group were surprised to see a note at the end of our checks that 3% would be added if we used a credit card. The staff could only say that the new credit card system requires this and could not explain what cost of acceptance would be. They indicated that signs are posted--there is one tiny sign outside the front door and another tiny sign taped to the cash register. Both are about the size of a small index card. No one in my group noticed them coming into the restaurant and I doubt anyone else has. There is no notice on the menu. This practice will not only cause headaches with questions and angry customers; but will also affect who returns. The prices have been raised over time to reflect increased costs and this is just one more charge. If people knew this prior to ordering, it might also affect what they order or even if they stay to dine. Not everyone carries cash or enough to cover if they choose not to pay the extra 3%. This did not in my case affect my tip, but some people may not tip if funds are short or they do not have the credit option free of extra charges. I would have given more stars if not for this situation. read more
