Amazing service and food we had a great time coming here for breakfast and my boyfriend and I loved it

Decent breakfast food. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Not really worth the long wait in my opinion. I will say that I really like the mac nut pancakes. However, the waffle wasn't good--hard and thin. The service was pretty good though. read more

Overrated -- for even one star hostess is rude -- and the floors are ALWAYS DIRTY - visited 10/7 as my daughter asked no changes still rude, informed hostess floor is dirty and chair, just said "oh" didn't offer to clean it and then sat another party there --we walked out - cancel this place - no more check-ins here read more

Thank you Alyna for the attentive service! I loved my omelette and my wife was doing the happy dance the entire time she was eating her waffle with strawberries and whipped cream mountain! Even though the restaurant was busy we were in and out quickly, and our coffee never went cold! Great job thank you! read more

Oh wow, biggest portions you will ever find in a breakfast joint. The banana pancakes are to die for, drizzled with some papaya and coconut syrup, it is an other worldly experience. I always bring out of town guests here and then we walk straight down to the beach. The location is amazing, easy to find and plenty of parking. They also sell syrups and prepackaged mixes to take to make at home. There is always a line but I've never waited longer than 15 minutes. Best breakfast in town! read more

I actually stopped in this place twice mid-day (once with coworkers and once with my kids), checked out the menu, and then decided against staying. Recently I went back to give breakfast a try. My coworker and I split an omelet with veggies and turkey bacon, which was awesome! It was filling, yet lighter than a regular super cheesy omelet. We got it with pancakes and the meal was plenty for the two of us. The prices aren't cheap (I think it was around $12 without our drinks), but since the portions are big it's pretty reasonable if you don't mind sharing. We were there early (6am) so it wasn't at all crowded, but I see the lines of people waiting all the time, so try and go off peak hours or be prepared for a wait. read more

Woke up early Sunday morning so we decided to go to Eggs n Things for breakfast. I had been to the old Waikiki one in the past and thought it was merely okay and overpriced. So how would I feel about this new location? Got there around 7:30am and there was absolutely no line and we got seated right away. I'd say the restaurant was about 90% full though. We ordered 2 of the eggs and meat breakfast - One with bacon and rice, one with link sausage and pancakes. Both were $9.95. Both the bacon and link sausages were very good. The link sausage (my usual go-to breakfast meat) was particularly tasty and came with 4 links. We both ordered eggs over easy and they came out as expected. I have to say the pancakes were a disappointment. Not as fluffy as I was hoping for and we didn't finish them as a result. Overall, the breakfast hit the spot and made us full but should 2 breakfasts and 1 coffee really cost nearly $30, including tip? I don't think so. I think Eggs n Things is a decent choice for breakfast if you're in the vicinity but for that price, I think I'd prefer Cafe Kaila. read more

I'm not impressed with this place. I feel it's just overrated. .. food is nothing fabulous!!! The roasted potatoes were fresh and seasoned right. The pork adobo fried rice didn't compare to what I'm use to at other Resturants. One awkward issue did arise at my visit. I requested a glass (not cup) of water with extra ice. The response received from the server was, "sorry I wish I could, but we're literally short on glasses now and they need it for the other drinks, but I can get you a cup..." OMG??? I didn't push the issue considering I knew it wasn't his fault specifically. Anyway, I opted to not have any paid or free beverage. I did want to walk out since I was somewhat disturbed how a customer cannot be easily accommodated. I'm most likely Not planning on returning again. read more

The food is usually good here, but today not so much. The Loco Moco gravy had a bitter after taste and my soft poached eggs were almost hard boiled. The crepes, which usually have a smooth texture batter, was a little gritty. And it took some effort to cut the pancakes which were a bit rubbery. No sure what's going on, but I'll come again. Maybe just a one off day. read more

Good food and fast. The parking is ok but since it's shared it's kind of tight. Now that Ala Moana re-vamped their parking, better. I like this one better than Original Waikiki one read more

Meh. Egg Benedict was not as good a i remember. Hollandaise sauce seem water down, not rich and creamy. Omelet was smaller too, portion control I guess. This was my 2nd visit to here, could be just this location. Don't think I'm coming back here. I know my Eggs 'n Things, I've been going here since they were on Ena Road. I loved the location down on Saratoga, and this location near Ala Moana is like... 3 blocks from my work. So, it was a no brainer to run down and grab pancakes and other breakfast deliciousness for the office. We order from here fairly frequently in general at this point. Not really bad, not as spectacular as the other one. Good food, relatively good pricing (it IS downtown Honolulu/nearly Waikiki and it IS kinda a tourist "thing"), fast service... Tips for patrons: Come at "odd" hours for breakfast service. We usually head over at like 1030-11am on weekdays and the wait for food (take-out) is like 15 minutes. Don't bother with the souvenir junk they offer. It's all over priced ($16 for a mini reusable grocery bag??? $8 for a coaster??? what? madness!). Tips for the restaurant: OH. MY. GAWD. Please... *please* I'm beggggging you... offer online or phone orders for those of us who work in the area and just want take out. Sitting in the small, often crowded waiting area with noisy toddlers, touchy tourists, loud people who don't understand that not everyone waiting with them cares about how they "partied all night in the hot tub with SUPER HOT guys", etc is too much! (that or at least put a fan in that tiny waiting space!) Overall: Love the chocolate chip pancakes (no whip cream, otherwise that's pretty much all you get). Crispy bacon is perfectly cooked every time. And the omlets are great! read more

Worst experience ever. I normally love this place! But also I decided to chance it and try something new. I usually stick the pancakes with Mac nuts and whipped cream, with eggs and meat or something. Or stir-fry tofu. But today I tried the crepes and the batter was nasty, it tasted undercooked, and soaked in something weird. The consistency was mushy. I doubt it's from the pre-frozen strawberries. My friend got their sweet bread french toast and I tried a piece. It tasted like it was dipped in eggs and that's it. Sprinkled with powder sugar, trust me it did not mask the taste. It makes me even sadder since this was just another bad experience with a food place for my best friend who is visiting. I'm giving them 3 stars in hopes it will improve their batters. Or maybe because it's rush hour time. But you would think it shouldn't matter and they would be used to it. I've been here at rush hour time and didn't have this experience. However their service is impeccable and I really liked the woman at the counter I think her name is Lolita? She was kind to us and took off the disgusting stuff from our menu. Maybe one day I will return and have an amazing experience again. read more

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana - These are the worst crepes I've ever tasted. #nasty next time stick to pancakes :/ - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I've never really understood the hype about this place, and to be honest, the only reason we keep coming here is because we live so close. Because the wait for a table during breakfast/brunch is generally a nightmare on the weekends (and because I think there are much better breakfast/brunch options), we usually come here at night if we are in the mood for breakfast for dinner. Even when we come at night, the parking lot still tends to be quite crowded due to the Japanese grocery store, but since a significant portion of Oahu was probably out shopping, the parking lot was easy to navigate and snag a space. As usual, it was no problem getting a table at night (I don't think I've ever seen it full at night). The service can be hit or miss, but tonight I thought the service was good! On the other hand, the food was just okay - not bad, but nothing spectacular either. To be fair, I haven't ever tried any of their specials, but it seems mostly like a lot of fluff (or in their case, whipped cream). read more

OK. I see that their location in Waikiki has higher reviews and I probably should've tried that one. I decided to try them out mainly because a friend recommended it to me. She told me the chain became so popular (among Japanese tourists?) they opened a location in Tokyo. Well.. what is good about this place? We (2 adults and a kid) had a spinach omelet w/ pancake upgrade (upgraded to strawberry + whipped cream pancakes instead of regular). It came with 3 pancakes instead of 5 that would come with a regular 'pancake' order. The amount of the food was ok, but it's a way overpriced ($21.94(=20.95+tax)) and nothing special. Yes, it did have macademian nuts sprinkled on the top but very little. Our waiter was a funny guy who also spoke Japanese (but wasn't ethnically Japanese) and my kid loved him but it was just that. read more

Good thing: they open early. I'm a Longhi's or Yogur Story Fan but they weren't open at 7am. Ordered veggie omelet, cup coffee, V8, and strawberry pancakes. Bill came out to $30. A little pricey for two people being that the cup of coffee was small, the V8 came in a skinny tall glass, and the omelet was really thin (a little watery). The pancakes were a bit hard with the load of whip cream on it. More whip cream then strawberries. Nice floor plans and very clean restaurant. Everything is still new since they recently opened. The servers were good. I love the fact that the young boy asked to pour my coffee instead of just pouring it and having me redue my sugar and cream. All in all, if you're looking for a fast, in and out, kind of breakfast joint then this would be an ideal place if you're in the Ala Moana area. read more

I only been here once and had one item so this review is purely based on this one visit I had the special loco moco. I can't remember what they called it but it had mushrooms and onions in the gravy. The gravy was good and over all the dish was tasty but the hamber patty was very bland and had virtually no taste. everything else made the whole thing ok though. Everything else was cool. Waiter was knowlegeable and came back to fill my coffee and our waters ofter. read more

Looked on Yelp to find little cafes to check out instead of eat at the hotel or too close to the hotel. You know how they get all pricy when it's in a tourist area. There was another location that was, let's say in the heart of the hotels in Waikiki, but my sis and I opted to drive a little ways to the one past the Ala Moana Center. Definitely worth driving away from all the hotels. Loved our waitress! I think her name was Ana. Very perky, and helpful! She recommended the pineapple pancakes and she was right! We had a winner!! It was delicious!! And to top it off they have coconut syrup!! It's was like a pina colada pancake stack!! Loved it! My sister got spinach, bacon and cheese omelet. They don't make anything small in Hawaii. She said it was pretty good except there was a lot of fatty pieces of "bacon" hidden in the omelet. We got in and out of there pretty fast. Great service. Good prices. They have daily specials on the chalkboard/white board, so if you are nearsighted, bring your glasses. I was squinting trying to figure out what was on there. Oh... like I said, they don't do anything small in Hawaii... there was a very thin guy at another table enjoying a strawberry waffle, well the amount of whipped cream on this waffle was CRAAAAZY!! However, it is fresh whipped cream - NOT from a can. My sis got some for her pancakes that came with the omelet... I had to try it. It was delish!!! Real whipped cream is so yummy!! It was pretty cool. The server told us about some "text me" deal for locals to reserve a table... We weren't locals but it's nice to know we fit in there. :) read more

Came here for something for dinner after running around doing wedding things. Since I enjoyed coming here prior to a Concert a while back. Ordered the pork adobo fried rice which comes with two eggs which I wanted one egg over medium and one scrambled so I could share with my hubs. Only to find out the manager said no that I could not do that and I have to order both only one way. So I ordered over medium which should be still a little runny. Mine unfortunately came to me well done. The pork adobo fried rice was passable. My daughter ordered their bacon spinach and cheese omelette. Again, another Fail! Omelette was Flat/thin NOT fluffy, they just scrambled the eggs, put the ingredients on it flipped it and served it egg side up....that's it! Seriously?!? We also ordered the the chocolate chip pancakes. Glad we got it cause that became our dessert . Sweet but not too sweet. Their servings are huge! Parking can be pretty scarce especially at the time that we'd gone 7:30pm. And we were lucky to get a spot right away. And was seated right away too. Just don't try to modify your meal in anyway This place is o.k. If you're in a pinch for someplace to eat besides the regular go to for an evening meal. And be patient for parking too. This went way down on my rating from my last visit. I am definately over Eggs and Things at this location. read more

That's a generous 3 stars. Seating was fast because I was by myself but there were families waiting for 15-20 minutes or more. There were things floating in my water but that could've been bad luck. That was until I watched the counter guy 2 feet in front of me pour chocolate milk back into the container after the order was cancelled. Now I'm no sanitation expert but I'm pretty sure my mother always warned me never to do that because it would spoil the rest of the milk with whatever microscopic crud was in the cup. Either way I wouldn't do this at home much less at a restaurant in front of customers. Food from the kitchen was well done but much less than hoped for--which is weird because if I had known that my choices were between a short stack and 1/3 cup of tiny potatoes I would have chosen the short stack. read more

Great neighborhood place to grab a nice breakfast, popular so there is usually a wait but the food is good and the staff friendly.

Had breakfast here this morning. The place opens at 6:00 am and due to the jet lag from flying in from the mainland, I was wide awake and outside the establishment at 5:55 am. The lights were on, the door was unlocked and there were ten to fifteen people standing around, so I went in. I expected to be seated, but I was told that the restaurant opened at 6:00 am. I stood in front of the door for 5 minutes. The restaurant is brand spanking and shiny new. Also, my tourist trap alert went off when I saw that the signs were written in both English and Japanese. I ordered the Portuguese sausage and eggs with pancakes. The portion of eggs was very generous. The sausage? Not so much. Four disks of sausage. The sausage was very good. This place is famous for its pancakes and the ones they served me were very good. When I come back (and there will be a next time) I'm ordering the pancakes. read more

Was hesitant to come here only because the one in Waikiki has really long lines and wait times and lots of people, but when I actually came I was surprised because it was sort of empty. I don't really see what the big fuss is about this place, other than the fact that you can get breakfast anytime of the day! Service was also slow. We had ordered an omelette with pancakes and the sunset chicken. My pancakes came out first and then had to wait some more for the actual omelette. It's like if you got a plate lunch and they just gave you your rice, but whatever. The omelette was also just my meat and cheese on the bottom and with an egg blanket on top. Usually, they're folded or rolled into the egg? Sunset chicken was really burnt, like left on the grill too long or something. Just tasted like carbon, after scraping off the top, chicken didn't really have any flavor either. It seems like the food is a bit overpriced. Reading the front of the menu, it talks about the founders' values about keeping prices reasonable. Yea ok. What is cool that they use iPods to take the orders and down and what not. I wonder if it's linked up to the kitchen in the back, that would be neat. Unfortunately, they don't allow substitutions, or was it because the iPod doesn't let you enter in custom things? All in all, I probably wouldn't go back unless I was really craving eggs or other people wanted to go. read more

OMG, I love this place!!! Their pancakes, french toast, crepes, eggs, bacon, omelets, basically EVERYTHING was delicious! Also try the loco moco, it's Hawaiian & very good. Not bad, not bad. 3 friends and I came today for brunch/lunch. Service was good, and the things I ate included the acai bowl, strawberry pancakes with whip cream and macadamia nuts, and the sour cream blueberry crepes (not entire plates I shared with friends haha). The acai bowl's honey was particularly delicious, and the pancakes were great too! I have to say I didn't like the whip cream too much; it tasted like fake whip cream to me. The crepes also had a strong nutmeg flavor to it, but we still enjoyed them. Will be back here with friends again sometime. read more

The server Victoria ALWAYS forgets our utensils and napkins. My boyfriend and I always come here when we can't decide what to eat, because their crab cake Benedict is good and the price is decent. I believe she did this 3 times already. We go at like 1-4pm and usually it's not busy around that time. Idk if she's nervous or she just forgets ?! I have no idea. But she needs to get on that. I have to say I was disappointed. I ordered an omlet n it didn't look like an omlet much less tasted like it was made of real eggs. I do have to say that the pancakes were quite good. The waiting line was an hour for us n yet when we went there were still a number of tables that looked empty. N my last pet peeve. As I was leaving, I noticed that a Japanese tourist family had ordered the same dish but their egg looked much better n bigger. Had dinner here with the wife last night. The food was OK nothing special. I had the steak and eggs and my wife had the eggs and side order turkey bacon. I asked for medium rare but it came out more on the medium side but still it was good it came with potatoe squares which was also over cooked and The turkey bacon was a bit over cooked as well but again tasted good. If it was way over cooked than I'd complain. We also ordered the pork lumpia which was really good. The service was pretty quick maybe because it was slow. Our server was really good he knew the menu and was attemtive to our needs making sure we had water and making sure everything was OK. This was the first time I ate at Eggs and things so it was something different. You wouldn't think of having eggs and pancakes for dinner but it actually is a concept that a lot of places are following. We seen this place walking around and saw a mile long line out the door so we went on our way and decided to try it the next day but we found a second eggs n things down the road that was much smaller and looked like a takeout place so we were pleasantly surprised to find they had a full restaurant upstairs and it was really cute kind of like a treehouse. First off I want to give a big shoutout to our waitress I wish I would have got her name because she was wonderful! She took care of us and she had a great attitude. My husband ordered the loco moco and I had a bite of that by far the best one either of us had tried. I got the waffle and fried potatoes (boring I know but I am not a breakfast person) but is was very good as well. I also had the Pog juice and YUMMY! Very refreshing in the humid Hawaiian weather. I would definitely recommend this place for visitors and families the prices were pretty decent for Hawaii, the food and the service was great! Try them if you get a chance read more

We love coming here for brunch or dinner. There's usually a long line during the day, but today wasn't too bad. We were seated within 20 minutes. We loved that we had a server named; Sierra who served us from previous visits. She's a beautiful and kind person who is easy to talk to. We enjoy having conversations with our servers, so we like that about Sierra. My husband ordered the Eggs Florentine and I ordered the Hawaiian Loco Moco. (Yes, I love Loco Moco, see my previous post.) Both of the dishes were delicious as always! We tried to save room for dessert, but we failed. It looks like we're going to have to come back for the Deep Fried Banana Split. *Too bad I didn't join Yelp sooner, I'd be considered a regular here among many other places. read more
