Compared to its sister in Millbrae, this place is only mediocre. The batter for the eggettes isn't as sweet, and they consistently don't have large cups. Prices at this location are also about 25-50 cents higher than in Millbrae as well. I can see why even though this place is next to Polly Ann, there normally aren't a lot of people in here. Lots of people loiter in here because of the wifi, and I can say that at least they're still using real fruit to make their juices/freezes. Other than that, I prefer Millbrae. I feel very asian when I go to these places (not in a bad way, so don't take offense to it!). Just be aware those eggette things are yummy. The eggettes are EGG-cellent-ly addicting. I could probably explode eating those all day (an eggs-plosion!..these jokes are gettin lame) Anyways, they're very light and not too sweet...a great little dessert or snack to nibble on. I definitely enjoy it with my boba drinks. I like the green tea drinks. It's a good little place to hang out for awhile, but probably not my thing to stick around for too long...more of a hang out spot for high schoolers I noticed. The have some awesome Chinese pop music vids goin on on the tv, that I can't understand..but somehow are intrigued by it. Overall not bad, service is okay. I've been a fan since the first time I've come here. Eggettes are yummy. Shark fin soup is great!! (Hello, only $3ish for a bowl!!) The drinks are really good. Recently had the Lychee Freeze. :D Tastes like those lychee jellos with the coconut inside. Super good! The regular and honeydew eggettes were also good on this run. Only con why this place doesn't get 5 stars is that they don't have weekly specials like the Millbrae Eggettes, and they don't have drink coupons for 50 cents off of drinks. Oh yummy goodness! This is a fabulous place to come for a late night dessert and milk tea! The eggettes are perfect and the malt milk tea was addicting. Service was fast and friendly. We enjoyed the small ambiance as a place to just stuff ourselves and chill. Totally going back! read more

Recommended Drink: Lychee Green Tea. The pit fall here is that I expected more out of the little cafe that it is--I figured that like most boba and drink places, they would have a variety of snacks like popcorn chicken, fried tofu, besides the 4 snacks on menu. Their selection of drinks is not extensive but good enough--their drinks are much better than their food. The Lychee Green Tea was particularly yummy, it even had a ton of shredded lychee at the bottom to add that extra punch in flavor, none of that powdery imitation. I have to admit though, the drinks are a little sweeter than most, which is a great thing for me, but for those used to subtler bobas and drinks, this is a bit sweeter than usual. The flavor of the drinks and the availability of parking warrants 2 stars, but nothing more. We ordered their Fish Siu Mai (it was terrible--they were, all 8 of them, hard & tiny. You could tell they bought them from the package at Ranch 99 and was made by microwave oven.), Mighty Fin Soup (one of the people in our group liked it but I thought the imitation fin, though imitation, was strangely crunchy and gelatinous at the same time.), Curry Fish Balls (the curry sauce was nonexistent but the fish balls definitely soaked up the flavor. Unfortunately that did not hide the fact that the balls were obviously the frozen kind you buy at Ranch 99 and was rubbery upon chewing.), and Sesame Eggette (I have to admit, not too shabby). This place definitely has the closest thing to a good HK-style egg waffle as I have had so far, although I have to admit I haven't had that many in the past. My dad (whom I took here as well) is Hong Kong-ese? so I took his judgment of this fine little Asian dessert. The egg waffles here come in three varieties: Original, Chocolate, and Honeydew. We ordered the original and honeydew. As they were making it, I noticed that there were tons of boba straws all lined up on the shelves. It literally made up a panorama of color across the wall. It tripped me out... for a couple minutes. Anyway, the original waffle was pretty darn good. You can definitely taste the eggy flavor (which according to my Dad many places here lack, as they usually put too much flour), which almost tasted custardy in my mouth. That was pretty good. Texture-wise it was nice and hard on the outside and soft on the inside... (no pun intended). The honeydew waffle was actually my favorite, as that hint of honeydew seemed to compliment the eggy flavor of the waffle. The one thing I'd say they could improve on is make the inner part of the waffle more full and fluffy. It was soft, but not as chewy as it can be, but that's all on the batter they make it with. 3.5 Stars! read more

Your local sunset tapioca place. Their the only place in SF where I actually like their eggettes. Nice and crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy (glutinous) in the inside. For those who don't know what eggette are...they just egg shaped waffles with different flavors typically eaten in Hong Kong as dessert. Love their honeydew and original flavors. This Eggettes place was conveniently near our dinner place, Toyose, so we decided to hope off and get some dessert. 3 flavors are available - original, Coconut and chocolate. I tried the original, and I would say this is probably OK.. It was crispy but the dough was kinda too thick. :( well, at least it was freshly made! Came here to order milk tea because I heard it was good. Regular size is $2.75 with boba. The boba is variable sized, all the pieces aren't the same. The milk tea has the right amount of sweetness and milk, not too lite, but not heavy either. If I'm in the neighborhood, I'll be back. The eggettes were dry but tasty. I haven't had experience with them before and was expecting them to be a little more moist, say like a waffle. Maybe I'm way off about that one... The boba is average, but a yummy average, so it's not really a complaint. However, we were the only people over sixteen in here on a Saturday night (OK that makes us sound really sad), though it seemed that we weren't crushing anyone's grove being ancient (OK that made me sound even sadder). Sadly, the group of teenage boys that literally wrestled in the corner over who was going to get what toy out the machine was a little unnerving. We considered it free entertainment, but really it just made it harder to hear our conversation. My boyfriend looooves coming here and can't get enough of those cute little eggettes! I like them too but I think they would go better with powdered sugar or cool whip or something. I do enjoy their Orange Mango and Berry Berry freeze though. Nice, blended drinks with boba. Too bad they don't sell crispy chicken here (like at other boba places) but they do have fin soup, rice rolls, and some other snacks. I came across Eggettes on Yelp earlier this week and was really excited to learn that there was a place in the city with potentially good egg puffs (eggettes is too cutesy of a word for me). Of course, I told my boyfriend right away, which led to the following conversation: BF: "What?! You've never been to Eggettes?" Me: "Umm...no...?" BF: "But all the Asians hang out there." Me: ??? -_-' So my boyfriend brought me to Eggettes today so I could try their egg puffs. All I have to say is, "WHY?! Why didn't I find out about Eggettes sooner?" It could have saved my taste buds from all those disappointing egg puffs sooner *sigh* I'm not saying that these are the best egg puffs ever but they're definitely on the top of my list. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and warm in the middle ~ yummy! (We also went next door to Polly Ann's and got some green tea ice cream to go with our egg puffs, adding to their deliciousness.) My boyfriend also ordered a mango green tea with tapioca and I took a few sips of it. I thought the drink was too syrupy and sweet but the tapioca balls were perfectly chewy and yummy. Maybe I'll try a different drink next time and hope it's better. Before this week, I have NEVER heard of Eggettes before. The word itself seemed a little silly too, which may play into its novelty. A friend of mine vowed to visit this place when we were on our way home from San Francisco beach. She kept raving and raving about Eggettes that I couldn't help but try them out for myself! Eggettes are simply a thinner version of a waffle. The shape is very distinct and resembles an egg-carton! When I went they had three different flavors: original, chocolate, and coconut. I decided to start off with the basics and got the original. It was warm, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and not overly sweet! :) I also got a milk tea with pearls, and it was alright. I've had better tasting milk tea AND pearls in San Jose. Customer service was good. I can't really say much because it was just a simple transaction that was made. This place is a nice and quick yummy dessert place. LOVE their egg puffs and fin soup for $3! Okay, maybe it's not REAL shark fin but HEY its still BOMB DIGGITY! I come here from time to time to get my crave for egg puff fix. Its as close as it'll get to the ones i have in Hong Kong. Of course it's still NOT comparable if you actually been to Hong Kong and had a taste of the egg puffs there; but like it said, its close enough. We ordered 2 egglettes (original and chocolate) oh and how am I not surprised? The lady gets my order wrong and only places an order for 1 egglette. Honestly, for $3, I would expect something a little more than what they gave me. Seriously, this is not even a speciality store. I don't understand why they are charging their food as if it's sprinkled with gold dust. The only thing I liked was the taste of the milk tea bolba (it taste like real HK style milktea). Would I come here again? No...only if I wanted to eat gold dust as a snack. What an interesting name! I thought this was a breakfast place at first. =P But Eggettes specializes in hong kong egg puffs and boba drinks. My friends and I met here for an afternoon snack. The egg puffs are offered in three flavors: coconut, chocolate, and original. We tried all three. Original was definitely the best one. A slight sweetness to the batter and a great crunch to the egg puff. The coconut didn't even taste like coconut (tasted like the original but they charge 50 cents more) and the chocolate was ok. I preferred the original. I also had curry fish balls and a almond thai tea. The curry fish balls were good! The almond thai tea was very sweet! I couldn't really finish it. One of my favorite spots to go to for mango lychee freeze with tapioca before I moved out of the sunset district. Their egg puffs are made fresh and come with a special flavor every so often such as coconute, honeydew, etc. They are always playing Asian music videos to keep in tune with the culture with what they serve. I really like their honeydew freeze. That's my regular. The service was okay. The lady was pretty rude to me. I wished she helped me out when I asked her about the Pokémon offer they were doing. Apparently, if you buy one drink, one egg puff, and ask for the Pikachu toy, you can get it all for $10. I haven't been here for at least a year. The prices changed for the egg puffs. Love this location! Parking is usually easy to find and it's never too crowded. It's right next to Polly Ann's too, so you can get ice cream next door as well if you're craving it :) I always order honeydew eggettes (best flavor!) and whatever drink I'm feeling that day. I get my friend to come over to the set to get some breakfast and I totally let him down because I thought that the eggette place might have something on their menu that would be filling. Don't get me wrong, the eggettes were pretty damn good, but where' the rest of the menu? Three types of eggettes, two of which, the regular and the coconut, taste exactly the same, and a few random small things like rice rolls. The rice rolls were actually really good. There were 3 different sauces on them in different sections and all three were good, although I think I prefer the straight soy sauce to the peanut or red sweetness. All that said, I still think there should be more food on the menu. How does this place stay in business? The eggettes are interesting, and just that. Can't ever imagine having a random craving for it anytime in the future. The red bean smoothie was blended red bean. No sugar, no cream. Didn't exactly go down smoothly. My uncle loved it, but the older generation is old school like that. For fruit drinks, i'd prefer this place to tapioca express or quickly's. Their fruit drinks are really good with chunks of actual fruit. But i find this to be a hit and miss sometimes. I love this place! I been visited to this cafe for many years but I still haven't left any review. I have to do it today! I love the drinks and all the snacks here! I always order Honey Green Tea with baba. It is so tasty and not too sweet! Although the eggettes in HK are still the best, their eggettes are pretty good too! They have original, chocolate and one daily special favor (coconut, cheese, honeydew). They also have curry fish ball, chinese bean dessert, fin soup.......Basically, I tried all of their snacks here and they are all so good with reasonable price. Their pearl tea leaves something to desire, and I can't really find the nerve to try any of their soups, but the variety is nice, and the egg puffs are pretty tasty. I always get the Mango Lychee drink. I'm not at fan of tapioca, so you can request it without it. The consistency is like a slushie but thicker, but not like a smoothie. They offer drinks that are fruity, coffee, chocolate. They have snacks that you would see at a Chinese dim sum place. Imitation shark fin soup, curry fish balls are a couple to name a few. I also enjoy the eggettes. Original, chocolate and a special of the day. My favorite special flavor is honeydew. Warm, chewy thin pancake like balls. Individualized for your pleasure. Another good but deceiving thing about this place. They have 3 computers with internet that customers can use. The only drawback is how SLOOOW it can be. I have only been here twice and it was my best friend who introduced me to this place. When you are feeling sick and need something fast/ soupy,. the $3 fin soup is here for you! There are only a few tables available and play chinese MTV videos as entertainment. They also have a lot of "EGG machines" where you feed it coins, spin the knob and get a toy. This machine def made money from my friends and I. A great hang out spot, to catch up with old friends and to discuss what we should be doing next... My past failures is ordering my first eggette "to go" and eating it 30mins later,. when it was hard and tuff. BARF! I never craved it or want to even order it when I see it. When you take the first bite off a hot eggette, the outside is crispy but the inside is filled with soft gooey doh. mMmm,.. The $3 fin soup is an imitation of the shark fin soup. It has shredded chicken, mushrooms, vegetables and some sort of noodles that duplicates the shark fin,. REALLY GOOD! Make sure you top it off with peppers! They make the best eggettes!!!! The flavor is just perfect. I've tried other places and they just dont add up to Eggettes. My daugthers' school is nearby so we go here every once in awhile for an afterschool snack. Of course, theres 4 elementary schools in a 2 block radius so theres always kids there after school. But luckily, theres always 2-3 employees working so the wait isn't too bad. read more

I love HK street food and Eggettes sells a small selection of them but they do it pretty darn good compared with what's available in the city. The eggettes are good but still not quite the taste of HK.. love the shu mai and fin soup, those are pretty authentic tasting. However when it comes to the curry fishballs, still nothing like HK... I'm just very curious as to why no one has been able to duplicate that taste of curry fishballs here in America... is it the facts it's not served on a skewer or the establishments here are too clean thus without the extra "flavorings"? anyhow, eggettes is as good as it gets if you want a taste of HK street food without going to HK. Definitely great egg puffs when you just need a snack or appetizer. I've gotten the original and chocolate, both are really good. Also, try their rice rolls... off the hook!! And it fills me enough for lunch. Don't get their fish balls, kind of a plain taste. And of course I had to try their milk tea. It is a bitter taste as most people said but it depends on your preference. They are not my #1 choice (I prefer iCafe for milk tea) but okay as a back-up when it's on my way.
