Hello! BobaVille was a really nice shop in the Outer Sunset District of the city. I ordered the taro milk tea with boba, and I thought the sweetness level was just right for me. The drink looked great as well. Although I do think there are better boba spots around the Bay Area and the city, the service here was excellent. The woman who served my drink was super nice, and the man working there even noticed that my friend had ordered the wrong drink and asked if she wanted to switch it for the correct order. On a super hot San Francisco day, a nice refreshing boba drink always hits the spot. I've tried Bobaville near Serramonte so good for them for being able to expand into the outer Sunset Noriega strip. I decided to go with the peach matcha latte and it was just alright. The matcha was barely there and it was definitely more of a peach milk more than anything else. Before you say, oh it's because peach is a strong flavor, I recently had the same at another boba place that was super solid so I know it can be done. Boyfriend got the mango summer tea which was strong but refreshing from the mint leaves. He added the homemade grass jelly but found it unremarkable. Otherwise, my other experiences have been uneventful. I have to say this was the most disappointing iced Matcha latte I've ever had. Absolutely no Matcha flavor, no emerald green Matcha color. Basically oat milk on ice that had a pale, sad green tone and tasted like oat milk. I took one sip and put it on top of the garbage can. I really should've gone back and let you know because you need to know. Making a good Matcha is not difficult. Maybe 15 years ago this is what a Matcha tasted like. Some tips; - Make your Matcha concentrate 3-4 times stronger. - stir it before you pour it into the drink. It's obviously settled sitting in your refrigerator in that plastic pitcher - use glass bottles with easy pour spouts - measure your matcha shot - You are using way too much milk. Go to a place like KIss of Matcha, Asha, or a Stonemill and try an iced latte. The bar is set super high in the last couple years for matcha here. I understand though, because you guys are basically a Boba shop and all your other teas are basically drinkable and people buy. But I would take Matcha off your menu if you're not gonna do the work. Boba options looking pretty scarce in this area. Hoping Bobaville can fill in this spot nicely, but so far it's a bit of a miss for us. We ordered the classic house milk tea and their strawberry matcha. We stirred it well because everything is deconstucted (instructions and info on their cups). The strawberry puree was more like jam. We either tasted only strawberry or just matcha - no in between for the drink. The classic house milk tea was okay. I'm used to the grass jelly sitting at the bottom instead of floating at the top. I love the handmade boba -- balls were a bit irregular but that's expected, they did have a great taste and perfect chewiness. Peach flavor was present but overpowering and surprisingly complemented the matcha well. Drink was perfectly sweet without adjusting sugar level. Service was quick despite how busy they were. There is no seating but there is street parking available, so we ended up just walking back to the car. I mean, I get why (not many places out here stay open late), but if they were to close a bit later, I'm sure folks like me would make the drive from elsewhere just because everything here tastes so good! Ihe mango king is very creamy and sweet (even with less sugar), so I'd prefer a mango slush at Eggettes because it's more nostalgic to me. Found this little spot that has homemade boba, not something you see often. It's made fresh and is super warm when it comes in your drink. The boba has a chewy consistency that is different from the usual and reminds me more of super chewy mochi. I usually order the Jasmine milk tea with boba and even at 50% it is too sweet for me. I mostly order ahead of time so that my drink is ready but the few times that I've waited in store, the boba is good to go in 5-10 minutes which isn't a super long wait. This location and the one in Daly City have similar store designs which are simplistic with a tablet for easy ordering and a cashier who takes orders. Easy to order and open concept store front. Nearly flawless. I followed the recommendation of fellow Yelpers and ordered the "Mango King" (add boba), and wow I'm at a loss for words. The execution is where this drink shines, and in particular the combination of ingredients in a thoughtful (though not overwhelming) way. To start, I'd definitely recommend adding boba. I think I read that it's homemade, and the consistency was great. These are smaller pearls, with just enough bite to add needed texture to an otherwise silky beverage, but not so much as to detract from the latter. The mango slush is creamy, not watery at all, and the perfect sweetness (I ordered mine "normal"); it drinks like a shake. The added crema on top is borderline decadent and complements the fruitiness of the mango quite well. Bonus scoop of ice cream (!) makes the whole thing melt into a beautiful concoction.
