Eggcellence has been one of our go to breakfast restaurants for years. Yesterday (2/17/25) was our first real disappointment. I love cream chipped beef which was one of the morning specials. Both my wife and I ordered it and were really disappointed. There were chunks of meat in a way too thick sauce glopped on some soggy toast accompanied by enough breakfast potatoes to feed three people. The coffee was fairly flavorless. Even the cinnamon bun was nothing to write home about. Service was fine as always. read more

Honestly the worst breakfast experience I've had in the area. Food, ambience, and service were all off. Also note that despite the photo on yelp showing a Bloody Mary they do not serve alcohol. Service was excellent. The food was just ok. I ordered plain pancakes with 2 eggs, coffee and extra butter. My food quickly arrived and I was pleased to find the eggs & pancakes on the same plate. While it looked pretty, I did not like that the pancakes had powdered sugar on them. I expect that on French toast & try to remember to request it be left off. I've never gotten it on pancakes before. The biggest disappointment was the butter! It was whipped (yay!) but looked like & was the consistency of whipped cream. It was completely tasteless. Visited on a Saturday around noon. We were greeted immediately, very warmly might I add. The food options were plenty, even for our pescaterian diet. I chose the Marylander, VERY good! The service was top notch and all of the staff was extremely friendly. I will definitely be visiting again, so many more options I would like to try. read more

This is a small, neighborhood feel place that is comfortable like being in someone's outdoor patio. Nicely decorated with stones. The crowd had lots of gray hair and the music was def 60s to 70s. I think I heard The Twist playing from waaaay back in the day. I didn't mind because it's a Friday and it was good music. Food is terrific... not ever the top luxury, but very comforting. The service was very nice by Yanet. The food came out fast and hot. Crab hash with poached egg and hollandaise was on point. My friend - who's a local - recommended we try Eggcellence for brunch on a Saturday. We rolled up around noon and were immediately seated. The menu has loads of options and I couldn't pick just one thing... and then I saw the specials board: Creamed chipped beef. What the truck is creamed chipped beef, I asked? Apparently it's diced corned beef in gravy. I asked our waitress if she gets excited when she sees it on the menu and without hesitation she enthusiastically answered yes! It's apparently a local dish so I became officially intrigued. I can get eggs anywhere, but creamed chipped beef? Nope. The manager came by and delivered us a personally made blueberry banana muffin, informing us it won a blue ribbon and another grand champion ribbon. It definitely was the best muffin I've ever had in my life, so good I didn't even bother putting their delicious whipped butter on it. I also asked him about the creamed chipped beef and he got so excited about my interest that he brought me a sample to try. Oh my. Sooooo good. I ordered it on white toast per his recommendation and devoured half of it. It's a gigantic portion plus it is the kind of meal that really sticks to your ribs. I don't think I will ever have anything like it again but I'm glad I tried something completely new! I also tried the breakfast taco, which we ordered with sausage and avocado. I loved the chipotle mayo and crunch of cabbage and the salsa was perfect. Honestly, it didn't really need the sausage but the avocado was perfect. Want a quick and solid breakfast in the area? Not a bad place to come. It's packed on the weekends which speaking of which, this establishment does not wear masks. It's the only time we experienced this in Annapolis, no one who works here wears one. Nor do the patrons. We just moved to the area and I stumbled upon Eggcellence while looking for breakfast/lunch for my husband and I. This spot has quickly become our favorite local brunch spot! We've been here 3 times this week now (2 of them takeout). At first I couldn't find the location because the map directed me to the wrong part of the parking lot--but that's not really a detractor (nor is that the restaurant's fault). I called and a restaurant worker directed me with no issue. My pickup order was ready within 5 minutes and I was greeted quickly. They check off all the Fs--fresh (and delicious) food, fast, and friendly service (and fairly inexpensive as a bonus). The kitchen does a great job turning out classic breakfast fare that will keep you pleasantly full and satisfied for hours. My two favorites here are both from the frittata section of the menu. First, there's the Meat Lover, with bacon, sausage, ham, and your choice of cheese, a protein-packed breakfast if a bit indulgent - but go ahead, you don't have one of these every day, do you? My other fave is the Hot Tamale: sausage, onions, peppers, jalapeños, corn, and cheddar, a perfect choice for someone who likes their morning to start off with a spicy kick. Went here a second time after being disappointed by their corned beef hash and was disappointed again. Had the eastern shore omelette this time. Tasted like fake eggs with canned chicken and canned corn. No seasoning or flavor at all. The food is very bland. Thankfully there was salt, pepper, old bay, and hot sauce on the table. read more

My mom and I stopped in for a quick bite a couple of days ago. We were seated right away. Our server was cheerful and very attentive. She checked in with us several times to make sure we were fine. My mom ordered the American Breakfast (two eggs any style with a choice of ham, bacon, scrapple, or sauce, served with breakfast potatoes and a choice of toast or English muffin.) I ordered the Build Your Own Omelette (Diced ham, sundried tomatoes and avocado with cheddar cheese) with rye toast. I also ordered a side of sausage. The omelette came without the avocado. We tried this place for a late morning breakfast on Mothers Day. It was fairly crowded but they had a table for two ready right away. First , the service was excellent. We received our order within five minutes which was a real surprise . The prices were reasonable relative to the portion size which was small compared to most breakfast restaurants. If your are very hungry, you need to order extra side(s) . Our egg and toast orders were good but nothing to write home about. The fresh fruit sides were excellent. Very fresh mix of fruits. After the A10 the boy and I needed a place to get some food. Yelp has never let me down with my searches with cinnamon bun because what else is needed post a hot muggy race? Carbs!. Well this spot didnt disappoint with the cinnamon bun. This bun came out in a takeout container (i wanted real food and the bun to take home), and boy did it fill out that container. The icing was perfect even after I warmed it up the next day. The boy and i both got egg based dishes (1 omelet and 1 benedict). The omelet was good as was the benedict. I asked for hollandaise on the side as is per my norm and they did follow my instructions. Overall we were satisfied, but know that this is essentially a breakfast diner type atmosphere. I've been to this place many times but am just getting around to writing a review. The restaurant can get extremely busy on the weekends and holidays. I visited today on the last day of 2018. It was packed but we were seated quickly. There are three separate small dining areas, which makes the place feel more homey. The order came out perfectly - American Breakfast with scrambled (cracked) eggs, bacon, potatoes and an English muffin. I absolutely love their potatoes which taste great with old bay. My mom ordered scrambled egg whites with mushrooms, green peppers, and spinach with potatoes. She loved her food. The eggs were cooked perfectly, not burnt like at most places. Off the beaten path and located away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Annapolis, stands a quaint restaurant that only serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Eggcelence may be a small restaurant, but what it lacks in size, they make up for it in the portions they serve! They're huge! I stumbled in with my parents wanting to try something new and we were pleasantly surprised. Plenty of variety on the menu and our food was delivered rather quickly. I ordered a "build your own omelette" that included three toppings and choice of cheese. It was accompanied with fried potatoes and toast. The fried potatoes they used were RED POTATOES and they were delicious! I'm a sucker for a good redskin potato. (Btw, HTTR! Get it, redskin potatoes - Redskins?! I'm here all week! Lol!) There were quite a few burnt pieces of potatoes on my plate and especially on my dad's but after scrapping those to the side, the others were still delish. We arrived rather early on a Saturday morning and the place was pretty full. A steady flow of customers entered throughout the morning but I didn't see anyone waiting to be seated. The service was friendly and prompt, the restaurant was clean and welcoming and the food was really good. It was a win - win for all of us! So I told my friends that I ate with that Eggcellence was a 2-star restaurant...and they thought I was bogus 'cause their smoothies and omlettes were delicious. Welll lemme tell ya somethin NO ONE messes wit my Eggs Benedict. Especially after a long night. I've traveled far for some good@$$ soft muffins topped with a perfectly poached egg, all super-soaked in Hollandaise. Any brunch restaurant must have a good Benedict to get my seal of approval. Eggcellence fell kinda short. My muffins were too toasted and hard, egg was poached well (i don't know how to poach eggs, so they definitely get credit for that lol), but they jipped me on my salmon (it was too salty, too), and were they running out of hollandaise or WHAT? I signed up to get all 500 calories of that sauce, and I probably got about 250 (it's like 67 cals/tbsp). All-in-all, I felt like my teeth were fightin my food and had to down water to swallow it. Unfortunate. Their ratatouille was on the salty side, waitstaff was decent, I loved that it was very bright, and the decor gave me a good brunch feeling...but the magic didn't happen, unfortunately. read more

It looked delicious but the flavor fell a little flat to me. Even worse, halfway through eating my food, I found a strand of hair in my food which certainly didn't belong to me. They offered to make me a new dish but at that point, I was already halfway done and almost ready to leave. They ended up comping the omelette and I only had to pay for the drink. The server also apologized for the mishap. I would say my experience was mediocre. The service was great but the food was just okay to me. This place is EGGCELLENT! (I giggled at the play on words) Come early to make sure you don't have a wait. We arrived at 9 and by 10, there was a very long wait! This place is popular for a reason!
