I struggle when I see a place with lots of good reviews and then have such a disappointing experience. Egg Works was one of those places. I love to eat breakfast out when I travel. At home, not so much; so I look forward to trying new things. Egg Works had enough grand reviews that I felt certain it would be fabulous and went in with high expectations that were quickly dashed. The staff that met me at the door was clearly bored with her job and the lack of enthusiasm was obvious. Once seated, the server seemed distracted. She was less than attentive for my entire visit. Strike two and no food yet. Their Habla Diablo potatoes are all over the menu so I had to try them. Along with smoked chicken chorizo hash and a few eggs I felt like was a breakfast to remember. It was, but for all the wrong reasons. Those potatoes were the worst I've ever had. Overcooked symmetrical small squares that had all the texture and presentation of cheap frozen store bought. Honestly couldn't tell you if they were deep fried too long or cooked on a flattop too long. The seasoning was boring. The smoked chicken hash concoction was likewise overcooked and dry. Flavor was too smoky for the very dry texture and needed much more chorizo. I will say that the over medium eggs were done perfectly so they got that right. One and done for me. Must be a favorite for the hungover hungry that keeps them alive IMHO. read more

This was the worst visit to a breakfast place as you can get. It wasn't very crowded which was a plus. I got waited on very quickly. Those are the best qualities of this review. I ordered the classic breakfast. Eggs scrambled soft, potatoes, turkey bacon and white toast. When my food was bought to me, it was 2 over easy eggs. I told the waitress and she apologized and took the plate back. What came back was the worst looking eggs I have ever seen (pictured below). The bacon was cold and the bread is toasted on one side. I don't like returning food multiple times for fear of what they might do. I'm always suspicious about things like that. Since I was starving after an early doctor visit, I ate what I could. Next came the bill. It was $21.43! They automatically add 2.99% for all non cash payments. Really. I guess that will be my last visit there. read more

Egg Works is a straight-forward breakfast staple with locations all around the Valley. They have a pretty large menu of pretty much anything you could want for breakfast plus a nice variety of sandwich options for lunch. The food is on point while service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are. My go-to order is the stuffed French toast and the banana nut muffin (look out for the free check-in). Most of their dishes come with the "works" potatoes which are small cubed and perfectly seasoned cubed potatoes. Coffee wise they are pretty standard so don't expect anything fancy. Egg Works definitely gets packed during weekend breakfast hours to make sure you plan accordingly. read more

Quite pricy for what you get and ended up with food poisoning- I got the eggs, sour dough toast, hash browns, and chicken sausage. The sour dough was really good but the eggs were more over easy than over medium, the hash browns weren't crispy or even browned (honestly thought I was eating a baked potato with my breakfast ) and the chicken sausage gave me and my husband food poisoning. I thought it tasted kinda wrong so I had my husband try it and he agreed there was something really weird about it- the rest of the morning we felt sick and agreed it must have been that since he had a completely different breakfast than I had. Egg Works has several locations throughout the Las Vegas area., it's one of those go to places where it's guaranteed to have a good decent Breakfast..It's not it's several steps above I -Hop , Denny's, Norms, Carrow's and Black Bear Cafe... well you get the picture, they have good breakfast sandwiches as well as traditional ones as well. TEALLY good waffles which I always get, the " Cabo Burrito "( HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) the breakfast potatoes are tasty as well. Unfortunately on this visit the French Dip tasted like a the au jus was dipped in warm damp water ,they comped us took it off the bill and brought out another sandwich. The waffles were off today as well... but this all didn't matter because we've been here a million times... and every time we visit Las Vegas they never DISAPPOINT! ! ! : ) Egg Works is a staple for us in Vegas which we always look forward to when in town visiting. read more

Great place to eat especially with a good variety to choose from. Food is always tasty and received as ordered. Kudos to the kitchen! They also have great wait staff that doesn't make you wait too long after being seated. They are very welcoming. Management ensures that you are satisfied with your meal and greets you personally. The restaurant is always clean, tables cleared off and available for another customer. The hostess greets you with a friendly smile and a great attitude upon entering and the cashier does the same upon leaving. Can't forget the train on the tracks overhead. For anyone who loves going to Eggworks, warning!!! Their food quality has decreased so much since I last went about two years ago. The skillets weren't fresh made anymore. The cheese wasn't soft and stringy like I remember and the potatoes were so dry and parts of the skillets were salty and other parts weren't. THE BIGGEST PART OF THIS REVIEW ISN'T JUST ABOUT THE FOOD QUALITY. So, I recently took my family out to Eggworks because we hadn't been there in years, and probably because the food quality had decreased tremendously. but I had forgotten about it. What REALLY GOT me this time was their new fee that Eggworks enforces. A TRANSACTION FEE.... yes, that's right, a 3% TRANSACTION FEE!!!! What really got my jaw dropping wasn't just the fee. It's the fact that it was a percentage! How could they make it a percentage?! So the company that owns the credit card machine is charging restaurants/stores percentages?! No, from what I know they charge the restaurant or store per transaction...and If not, they will say, if you spend over a certain amount we will waive your fee. Come on... how can you justify the charging difference between someone who paid $100 on their bill and someone who paid $400? It's just the same ONE transaction! I WAS REALLY UPSET because that made me feel cheated since I paid to have a large party get-together. I will have to find a new breakfast place that does not mind paying for a simple transaction fee. If I had spent that money towards the server's tip, I would have been satisfied. At least I knew it's for the service I received and not for the company's profit and did nothing additional for me at the time of my service. It's just plain ridiculous! read more

My girlfriend and I have been having breakfast here a few times a month for probably a year and a half. We have a regular order but sometimes we deviate. The place is awesome. The potatoes are the main selling point though, just a seasoned breakfast potato but it's fantastic. Everything else is good too. I like Ruebens and they're kind of hard to find but they make a decent Reuben here too. Great staff too. read more

Warm casual decor welcomed us with lots of wood, farmland murals, and a big model train that chugged around the whole restaurant. *POC beware* I took my mother to an early morning appt, and we decided to do breakfast after. There's a Groupon so we got that, and I had called ahead and asked about senior discount, which they had. We got there and she didn't say hi, just held up 2 fingers and started walking towards a table. She said enjoy the meal or something rather, which is the most that was uttered to us. We were looking at the menu when I saw someone across the way get seated and asked what they wanted to drink. Diff person, ok. Then another couple was seated right behind us, the same lady promptly went to ask them what they wanted to drink. Hmmm... then someone got seated behind us, also asked what they wanted to drink. It'd been over 5 mins with 3 tables with beverages, or with them on the way. I did look around and saw no one that looked like us. I don't like these kinds of posts or inferences, but literally EVERYONE around us was greeted and awaiting beverages. I started to feel uncomfortable about what might be done in the kitchen to our food. Finally someone came over. I contemplated staying, so I asked for water, but ultimately decided to leave. I like leaving at least a 20% tip, and I was already feeling like I couldn't comfortably do that. I stand behind my decision to leave and just caution other poc to see what kind of service they get. I can't believe I haven't eaten here in the 3 years we've been at MacDonald Ranch. We've driven past this place hundreds of times. Today we finally went in and we were not disappointed. There is no shortage of options. Our server even mentioned that they used to have a bigger menu. I can't even imagine what that would've looked like. We couldn't really decide so we ordered a little of everything. One pro tip: they offer half orders for some of their items so definitely ask if you want to try a little of everything. Be warned... a half order is still so much food. I'll add pics later, but there were 4 of us. We got the huevos rancheros with carnitas, the prime rib Benny, the stuffed strawberry cream cheese toast (half order), Hawaiian French toast (half order), a side of biscuits and gravy, a Mexican omelette and a bottle of champagne. Everything was AMAZING. The spicy seasoned potatoes were fantastic as well. The flavors were all well balanced and well seasoned. We didn't even come close to finishing our food. We actually had to flag someone down to ask if anyone was coming. When the server came over, he apologized for the wait and said he was helping the larger tables. It's been years since I've dined at Egg Works and it's a solid spot for a big breakfast. Stopped by this early this week and we were greeted and seated quickly. Only a few diners inside as it was 730 am. Love that Egg Works opens at 6 am. Menu is really big and most entrees are around the $12-$15 mark. Love that they have 3 or 4 choices of hawaiian style breakfast with the loco moco and spam/portugese sausage and eggs. Most breakfast come with breakfast potatoes and a side of either toast or their signature Banana Nut Muffin. After looking through the menu, I loved that the menu states the Chicken fried steak was hand dipped. It's hard to find a homemade Chicken Fried Steak these days. I asked the waitress if it was, indeed homemade and sadly she said no, that it comes in frozen. Misleading from the what the menu states. Instead, I opted for a veggie omelet, with the house banana muffin. Food came out fairly quickly and it was a big serving. The muffin was a little dry, but still tasty. The omelet could have use more veggies. Service was ok, but at the end, the waitress was a little rude bc we stayed and talked at the table. We thought it wasn't a big deal as there were only a few other patrons in the place at 730 am, but she made it a point to let us know we were holding up her table. Looked around and no one else entered the restaurant the whole time we were there. Overall, solid spot for breakfast. I'm from out of town (Oregon) and this has always been a spot to go for us to get breakfast or brunch when we visit. The food here is great, your classic breakfast/brunch food. All served with heaping serving sizes. My favorites have to be the country fried steak and the corned beef hash. One other thing to ALWAYS get is their famous banana bread You can't go wrong with it. It's extremely moist and hard to savor for more than a day. The service here is great. Employees are very nice and the surroundings are great for families and groups.
