Girls Brunch plans had to pivot because all of the other brunch places had an hour-long waitlist on a Sunday around 12:00 PM (ok yes it was absolutely my fault for picking the peak time), so bless Egg for being able to seat a party of four immediately. There's a free parking lot right next to the establishment, service is really cohesive, and it's got easygoing, fun vibes. I appreciated how concise the food menu was and found their daily specials to be a fun touch for brunch. Their drink menu was maybe even a touch more extensive, which I'm definitely not complaining about. Everything sounded really good, but I was sold on their salmon hash (a daily special). A warning that it's not a dry hash as I had imagined, but it was really tasty. It was perfectly cooked chunks of salmon sitting in a creme fraiche sauce with a plethora of veggies, served with a couple pieces of bread. I loved the variety of vegetables used because it made the dish really fun; like, I got super excited when I got a bite of beets at some point. I wish it came with more bread to use as a vessel, because that was my preferred way to eat it. It was a touch decadent and the serving size was generous, so I'd even recommend splitting it between two people. I trust that everything on Egg's menu is just as good as what I had. Went for brunch on a Sunday. The food was good. I enjoyed the vegetables on the tostada. It wasn't just your basic veggies, they added pieces of beets, zucchini and squash along with the basics...so healthy and tasty! The coffee was good as well. I didn't have an alcoholic beverage but they do offer them. The young lady who served me at the bar was extremely pleasant and kind with really good energy (not everyone in the place was). One of the dishes I crave most there is the Shakshouka (pictured) and it's so incredibly delicious that it is my go to dish there although I'll sometimes get an eggs Benedict dish as well too. The Shakshouka has tomatoes, peppers, added as an extra spicy lamb sausage and topped with two perfect eggs and is a breakfast dish found in Tunisia and around the Middle East. Coffee and toast are always great and service is always on point. Our food was delicious! The menu isn't your typical brunch menu. There was a nice variety and the portions are generous. Four of the five of us took about half of our food home. The food will be the main focus here, I ordered the Veggie Hash as I have ordered similar dishes before and was craving something light. This food, let me tell you... was by far the WORST breakfast I think I've ever had. Not only was this steaming bowl of Vegetable water disgusting, but the hollandaise was broken, runny and watery. After showing this to our waiter, I was told "Yeah, that's how it's supposed to be" Now, I think they forgot to take the vegetables out of the water with the poached egg as this was COMPLETE water. Zero flavor, no professionalism and terribly over priced for the sub par service and food served here. I would recommend ANY other breakfast spot in the city, you'll receive food worth the money and by far better service. What a joke of a business. We came in late on a Sunday, it was my fiancé and our good friend. It was nice there wasn't a line or a wait, so that was a plus. Obviously the other tables got their meals first even though I was seated a good 20mins before them. Their Pork Belly Benedict, what was once a staple, is now nothing short of mediocre.
