Inside the restaurant it has a very fun Hispanic atmosphere mixed with old and new decor. The food is delicious. El cerdo has meat that falls apart and is so soft and delicious. Topped with two perfectly poached eggs, spinach, potatoes, corn and delicious salsa. I like spicy so I asked for a little more salsa. Very well balanced and tastes as good as it looks. Okay so this is the thing with brunch in STL you can't make a reservation. Which I kinda get but honestly I'd rather know my time than plan on waiting 30-45 min sooo plan on a wait. After your long wait you will be treated to the most mediocre service complete with being ignored for 20 minutes upon being sat (yes I know places get busy but have staff that can handle it). The brunch itself is average nothing great and my sister said hers was coated in salt. Overall I won't be back there are other spots I can have the same wait times and better service with better brunch. read more

Girls Brunch plans had to pivot because all of the other brunch places had an hour-long waitlist on a Sunday around 12:00 PM (ok yes it was absolutely my fault for picking the peak time), so bless Egg for being able to seat a party of four immediately. There's a free parking lot right next to the establishment, service is really cohesive, and it's got easygoing, fun vibes. I appreciated how concise the food menu was and found their daily specials to be a fun touch for brunch. Their drink menu was maybe even a touch more extensive, which I'm definitely not complaining about. Everything sounded really good, but I was sold on their salmon hash (a daily special). A warning that it's not a dry hash as I had imagined, but it was really tasty. It was perfectly cooked chunks of salmon sitting in a creme fraiche sauce with a plethora of veggies, served with a couple pieces of bread. I loved the variety of vegetables used because it made the dish really fun; like, I got super excited when I got a bite of beets at some point. I wish it came with more bread to use as a vessel, because that was my preferred way to eat it. It was a touch decadent and the serving size was generous, so I'd even recommend splitting it between two people. I trust that everything on Egg's menu is just as good as what I had. Went for brunch on a Sunday. The food was good. I enjoyed the vegetables on the tostada. It wasn't just your basic veggies, they added pieces of beets, zucchini and squash along with the basics...so healthy and tasty! The coffee was good as well. I didn't have an alcoholic beverage but they do offer them. The young lady who served me at the bar was extremely pleasant and kind with really good energy (not everyone in the place was). I've ate at Egg Restaurant several times over three years and it's it is one of my favorite breakfast and brunch places in St. Louis. One of the dishes I crave most there is the Shakshouka (pictured) and it's so incredibly delicious that it is my go to dish there although I'll sometimes get an eggs Benedict dish as well too. The Shakshouka has tomatoes, peppers, added as an extra spicy lamb sausage and topped with two perfect eggs and is a breakfast dish found in Tunisia and around the Middle East. Coffee and toast are always great and service is always on point. The only warning that I have is pay attention to the parking lot outside, and make sure to not park in a Hodak's Restaurant space or you can be towed. read more

It was a little loud in there - more than likely because it's an older building with very high ceilings. We were able to hear each other just fine though. A number of servers tended to us and the service was good. Our water glasses and coffee cups were filled often. The server who took our order was knowledgeable about the menu items. Our food was delicious! The menu isn't your typical brunch menu. There was a nice variety and the portions are generous. Four of the five of us took about half of our food home. I will say the prices are higher than what we usually pay for brunch, but I believe this is a case of you get what you pay for. It was pricier, but it was better than a typical brunch! Well, I didn't try the French toast, but the latte was LOVE! I ended up ordering a veggie breakfast tostado and that was just as amazing as the latte...plate-licking amazing! They ask you what do you like before recommending a place and I quite love that. I've been twice and I've gotten the cornbread eggs Benedict each time and I just love it. It was a rainy morning, so we decided on take out for brunch. If I'm not mistaken, this is also a fairly small brunch space, so we were okay picking up our food and taking it back to the Airbnb. The location is in Midtown so there's street parking directly in front. All spots were taken so we parked in a nearby parking lot. I was there about two years ago and I ordered the fennel sausage biscuit and gravy and something else and it was off the charts. The quality of the cappuccino wasn't as good as I remembered (maybe a different machine?) and the food was just okay in my opinion. I'm not sure if it was the difference in experience or what. Our waiter also came back and chatted with my fiancé and our friend the whole time about random stuff. I was pretty much excluded from the conversation. It was an off experience and I felt like I was misplaced the whole time even though I was paying for a plate.
