Not the greatest egg roll king to visit. The crab Rangoon was ok at best. Good flavor yet the filling amount was lacking! I got lemon chicken and generals chicken. The lemon was ok. Sauced was obviously just poured over fried chicken pieces. The generals chicken was OVER sauced with a slimy gel type sauce that was VERY unappetizing and mostly inedible. The sesame chicken was the same as the generals chicken. And the sweet and sour chicken was the same at the lemon chicken. All in all not a great experience. Will not be visiting again read more

Decent cheap Chinese food. What's good about this place is they delivery through door dash which not a lot of Chinese places in Reno do. The food was ok. For the price and convenience it was worth it. read more

I don't claim to be an expert in anything, but I've probably spent 10,000 hours eating Chinese food so I have enough practice to be a good judge. Egg Roll King is your typical low-cost, Americanized Chinese food restaurant take-out. What they do correctly is provide a low-cost meal option and fast. What I think they lack in comparison to other similar restaurants is quality of food and options. The location is also very sketchy and not super clean. I ordered the 2-entree special and a side of potstickers. I have previously eaten here as well and have tried a lot of different things. I ordered chicken vegetables and garlic honey chicken. Although flavorful, the garlic honey chicken was very heavy and too greasy for me. The chicken and vegetables, however, were flavorful and nice. I'm not a big fan of either of their methods for fried rice or chow mein but ultimately went with the chow mein which is a very greasy and heavy serving. The potstickers were a disappointment and I won't be ordering them again. Not a ton of flavor and very odd tasting and also burnt. Previously, I've had the hot and sour soup which is a large reason I come here. I think its flavorful and one of my favorites in town if I want something fast. Overall, this place is somewhere I'll continue to eat here-and-there. It's not incredible but it gets the job done. 3/5 food, 2/5 location, 5/5 service. read more

Quick, friendly, delicious and prepared fresh after your order. The crab rangoons are amazing and the pricing here is unbelievable.

I come to this Egg Roll King because it's close to my house and has speedy service. It's food leaves a little to be desired. With 2 Chinese restaurants in the same shopping center, I'd rather go to Dynasty China (or is it China Dynasty). But their prices are higher and they take longer to serve. Egg Roll King has all the usual Chinese fare, and will even serve items not on their menu, like beef with black bean sauce. The atmosphere is absent, but at least cleaned frequently. Its just a few tables and chairs and photos of certain dishes grace the wall. The lady who takes your order is very pleasant. And it's definitely fast. Note that I'm talking about Egg Roll King on Booth St. and not the one on Wells. read more

Quicker thank I thought! My order looked delicious but it wasn't all right, but still delicious.

I used to love this place, but it closed for a while and after it reopened, it tasted like the noodles had been used to mop up the floor and the entrees had been left there since before they closed. I much preferred it to Panda Express, but not anymore read more

Sorry but this last visit was bad. I raved to my family about how good the food is for take out Chinese. It was mediocre at best and there was 1 dish that was downright terrible. Kung pao chicken. I was embarrassed. People were actually spitting it out! read more

Favorite Chinese spot since freshman year of high school! The sweet and sour chicken and chow mein is on point!

So went here recently and they have new owners you can tell the difference the chicken has no taste the noodles are pasty like they were never cooked and the rice is mush like why the hell you making food that is trash used to be my go to restaurant for Chinese food now it's just trash ! Make decent food that is good that people pay money for is it that hard ? I guess it is !Stay away unless you like crap ! read more

This was my first time at an Egg Roll King. I have been wanting to try it for a while and happened to be near this location doing errands. First off, it's not in the greatest part of town. The inside itself was very dated and kind of unclean. I had to use their restroom and it smelled like urine and the toilet seat was horrendous. However, the food was great! Which is why 3 stars. If you are in this area and want a fast to-go Chinese that's better than Panda Express, stop here. Food tasted very fresh, I got honey chicken and broccoli beef with fried rice. The rice wasn't the best part, I felt like it lacked some flavor, but I mixed in the sauce from my entrees and it made it better. read more

I really enjoyed this restaurant because you get a lot of food for a low price. I got the veggie delight which tasted good and fresh. The pork fried rice had A TON of pork. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for cheap Chinese fast food read more

Today I had the hot and sour soup. An order of pot stickers and an order of teriyaki beef. The beef was great, so that boosted from 2 stars to three. The soup is too thick, like too much msg. The contents had added little chunks of meat added peas and what I believe is very long stems of julienned bamboo. It wasn't hot or sour. More of a hint of both. Nothing to write home about The potstickers was a disappointment to say the least. They were greasy and very dark brown on the bottom. The top was almost uncooked looking. The encasement was very rubbery, like it was steamed after it was fried. I'd give only a 1/2 star to those. I don't think I'll eat at this particular egg roll king again. The prices listed on their web are incorrect. Add $2.00 to $3.00 dollars to the menu item listed. I'm disappointed because of all the good ratings. read more

The food is every good, and the guy is super nice, and this is the best Chinese Restaurant.

My go to place for quick cheap Chinese food. I love their house fried rice. They give fantastically generous portions and have the food hot and ready fast. This seems to be the best location. I've never been disappointed by the food I've gotten. Sure, there's better Chinese in Reno, but this is great for hot and fast. read more

Listen, I hate chinese food. Know what else? I especially hate chinese food from crappy little hole-in-the-wall diners like this one. The food is nothing but a bunch of crap flash-fried in oil, then transferred, oil and all, into a styrafoam tray for you to wolf into. The servings are enough to make you an obese heart attack waiting to happen in no time. But you know what? There's ONE dish that I like at this place, and every time I go back to reno I make sure to stop here and pick it up. It's a multi step process. Step one: Order plain white rice. Beware, the people working there will get pissed off at you if you order this stuff more than once because they want you to order something that they can make a few bucks off of. Don't let their shitty attitude stop you. They may even raise the price on you from 1 dollar to a buck fifty or even two bucks. Be vigilant. Step two: Grab 6 of their soy sauce packets and dump them into the box of rice. Ensure even distribution. Step three: Ask for some of their chili oil and dump that into the rice and then mix it up with a set of chopsticks. Eat and enjoy. It's some of the tastiest food in the world and I have yet to be able to find a place that has the flavor of chili oil that these guys make. I'm seriously tempted to go down there and ask them to make a gallon of it for me to keep. It's that damn good. I'd normally give one star for the shitty chinese food they make here, but the chili oil rice that I make there brings it up to 5. It's that good. read more

To quote a review before mine, "Pure, unadulterated JUNK FOOD." I love greasy, slippery, MSG-loaded chinese food swimming in oil. I'm talking about the sort of food that will have you popping Tums all night. The greasiest examples are probably the Singapore Rice Noodles (love these so much) and the Kung Pao, Extra Spicy. The Mongolian Beef is extremely dense. It isn't for everyone as it takes a few attempts to really adjust to the heavy texture, but once you start eating it, it's addictive. The chicken butt is superb and comes highly recommended. It's like consuming a mouthful of fat coated in a crispy, glazed skin. Mmmm... heaven. And, of course, their signature egg rolls do not disappoint. Your heart begins to complain the moment you bite into one and all that flavorful oil splashes over your tongue and cheeks. If you're bold enough to throw caution to the wind and drown yourself in oily, ghetto chinese goodness... this may be the best place to do it. read more

Pure, unadulterated JUNK FOOD. 1. Don't order the cow. They use Low, lower, lowest quality beef. 2. Don't order the Pork. Damit! Piggie is the one meat that always good in Chinese places. But NOT HERE!!! Sweet and Sour pork is all dough and what little bittie meat you find in the middle is all dried out. I use to come here occassionally to order my fallback: Port Scheshwan. But they are barely using any pork and they are literally cutting it too close to the bone. This last visit I found a slivered bone in MINE. Now why didn't I just swallow it? I could'a sued them to kingdom come. But I doubt they have any money.... ~sigh~ The Chicken is low quality chicken butt. However, on the bright side, if you like cheap greasy chow mein or day old fried rice, this may be your kinda joint. read more

This is delicious, fresh, cheap Chinese food, and the service is super friendly too. I'm vegetarian, so I can't speak for the meat dishes, but the vegetarian delight (with tofu), fried rice, egg rolls, and crab rangoons are all exceptional. The veggies are crisp and not overdone, and nothing is greasy or loaded with too much sauce. The portions are large, so you can probably share if you aren't too hungry. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for some tasty Chinese food that is prepared fresh when you order it. I will be back. read more

I don't eat much Chinese food, but when I do, I stop by this Egg Roll King. It's regular Chinese food- it's not going to blow your mind, but it hits the spot. Prices are average and portions are huge- two a la carte entrees fed my girlfriend and I lunch for three days. The last few times we've ordered, it's been a super short wait- maybe 5 minutes. And lastly, the lady that works the front counter is an absolute sweetheart. I'm pretty sure she works there all day, every day. Someone give her a day off! read more

Here's my take on Egg Roll King - If they are the king of egg rolls, then order me the pot stickers! There is nothing worse than seeing meat thaw in a utility sink. That's pretty much a regular occurrence here at Egg Roll King. For a place that is seemingly incapable of making decent fried rice or chow mein, two Chinese staples, it's a mystery they are still in business I chalk it up to their proximity to Reno High and peoples low standards for what passes as decent low-cost Chinese. Steer clear of this place, cheap or not, it'll leave a hole in your colon. read more

I was excited to try this place, however the lady in the front was so rude and couldn't comprehend anything I was asking. Not only did she snap at me for asking questions, but his body language was very rude and angry. I walked right out since I didn't appreciate her lack of customer service. Every customer counts, especially in an area like this, so you won't stay in business very long with that kind of attitude pushing business away. read more

Tried them for lunch today, not very good. What's strange is many years ago I lived close to this place and it was rock solid. If you are hungry, they give you a good helping of food on the Combination plate. Today I got a substantial portion of chow mein, and the the two items were above average portions. I got Sesame Chicken, and Kung Pao. The price was $5.50ish. I also got 3 shrimp egg rolls for $2.95. My price out the door was just over $9. I was pretty hungry today, hence why I ordered what I did, I got back to the office, and the egg rolls were decent size, but were 90% cabbage. I thought maybe I got vegetable ones, then I finally found a tiny shrimp in the egg roll and I couldn't even taste it. Overall, would definitely pass on these, and it's said, since it's Egg Roll King. You think they would be Egg Roll Specialists, but that's not the case. As far as the chow mein, there's not too many chow meins, I don't like and I could barely eat this one. I ate about 10% of the portion and tossed the rest. I don't know how you mess up chow mein, but it was not good. The Sesame Chicken didn't look good, nor did it taste much better. I ate a few pieces and trash can as well. The only one was that some somewhat edible was the Kung Pao, I ate more of that than anything else, not great, not terrible. Last it's super cold in there. so you can tell they are trying to save $$, that doesn't bother as I like to get better value, but unfortunately, the value equation includes taste, and this place didn't pass, which sucks, because I like the portion size on the combination plate and the price. I might try the two items w/ beef and pork fried rice, if there's a redeeming quality on that dish, I will gladly update this report. "Taste + Price + Quantity + Quality + Service (Acceptable varies according to the place) = Value or aka My Value Equation". read more

This place is just a few blocks away so I frequent this establishment when looking for quick, on the fly Chinese. I cannot say much for the decor as it is just bunch of average looking tables and chairs clustered around the wall edges. The pot stickers are pretty good and reasonably priced for an order of six. The chow mein and fried rice are average. Items on the combo menu vary in quality. Some are actually prepared and others are just a quick assembly of parts heated with sauce thrown over (Sweet and Sour Chicken) for example. I like their chef specials which consist of fried or steam rice and an entree. The serving (fairly large) is perfect for splitting between two people (or one really hungry person). It saves ordering additional sides of rice. I like this place since my kids like Chinese but don't really care too much about quality (don't get me started on their pizza preferences). I fed a family of five for $33 last night sharing two orders of pot stickers, one chef special, and two combo plates. The staff is always friendly. My meals have always been ready in 10 minutes or less. However I would avoid this place like the plague during the high school lunch break (unless doing a called in pick up order) as the place is packed with students. Overall average food at a reasonable price. read more

Let me start the review by saying anyone coming here and expecting a gourmet dish is just flat out fooling themselves. The burger from McD's is different from a steakhouse so the need to lighten up is apparent here. Now the food is typical fast food Chinese too much sauce and too much batter but the KungPao had flavor beyond celery and the fried rice soaked up the extra sauce easily. Crab Rangoon was a joke no crab but for $3 was tasty little cream cheese thing. Fried rice is be stretched by adding in white rice they later drench in soy, many fast food Chinese do this, it's a shame because the real fried rice actually has flavor beyond salt. The end result is there was nothing to bring me back just like when I leave Taco Bell I don't say when is my next visit going to be? read more

You either hate it or you love it. It is close to Reno High School so a lot of teens get their lunch at this place. They cook fast. I find their food a bit on the greasy side, if that is possible with Chinese food. Perhaps they stir fry more than wok. My wife finds their food on the hot side and has to watch out for the red peppers. Not my favorite Chinese place in Reno but OK if you need food fast and use a lot of Soy sauce. read more

I used to love this Egg Roll King. They always had generous portions and reasonable prices. Little by little, over the past 4-5 months, they started skimping and getting cheaper and as of this moment, I won't be going back. For several years, I've been eating here 2-3 times a week. No more. Their shrimp fried rice used to have 10+ shrimp in it, and now you're lucky if you get 3 or 4, and it's a dollar more. I stopped ordering that. Their honey garlic shrimp entree used to be a full styrofoam container of beautiful shrimp. They've cut the portion in half, as well as cut the shrimp in half, so you have more batter than shrimp. The wonton soup is more expensive as well, and they no longer use regular wontons, but special soup wontons, which is nothing more than a wonton skin with a tiny smear of filling, folded to to look like an actual wonton. I don't know if there is new management, or what the deal is, but they are in the process of ruining a good business.... read more

I just waited over 30 FUCKING minutes for a simple order which should have taken no more than 15. Half of that was waiting for 4 god damned potstickers. The food is so cheap and delicious here. I finally tried the hot and sour soup and was floored that it was only 2.00$ for a reasonably sized cup. I shared the Mongolian beef with my boyfriend, more than enough for both of us and very flavorful. The customer service here is so pleasant, I can't say enough about it. Was horrible, the rice tasted burnt like the pan and noodles where horribly seasoned also ordered some potstickers that had a pink color to them and egg rolls tasted like they used rotten veggies and had a awful texture. I use to eat here when I was younger but they really have gone down hill since then. I also noticed that the man working the cash register wasn't wearing a mask and was letting people into the store without mask on I will not be coming back.
