For over 12 years I have obtained food from this establishment which is walking distance from me, under previous owner/operator. Last Friday 9/9/22, I purchased Fried Rice Combo as usual, except it was totally burnt & inedible. I called back & complained. Supposed Manager "David" apologized & offered a replacement free of charge (No one named David works there) Today 9/16/22 I ordered the same, at the time of pick up, same person who had identified himself as David denied his name, refused the promise, he became rude & belligerent, saying that I do this all the time for free food, later he changed it to three times. This old school restaurant has been around for 30 plus years. We stopped by and ordered two lunch specials. Since they don't offer in room or sidewalk dining and mostly everything is to-go we took our food and ate at Victory Park. The Kung Pao chicken with fried rice and chow mien were really good but hoped the KPC was spicier. You can watch them cook right in front of you in those big woks that they use. read more

On Jan 2, I picked up Moo Shu Pork that was close to $18.00 and it was so tasteless. Sadly, they no longer offer dine in. It was nice to sit inside and enjoy your meal here, especially when they had their large fish tank. Everything is cooked made to order, so it's best to call in your order, so you don't have to wait. There are benches inside and outside to sit on, but it doesn't make up for their now closed dining room. All 3 chefs are constantly busy cooking orders from call in, walk in, and of course deliver services. Street parking is available, but also limited to all the surrounding businesses. The noodles were dry, there were no vegetables in there (other than a few slices of onion) and every single kind of meat imaginable? This restaurant location has been around since I was in HS and has always had resonable prices $. I am not a huge Chinese food fan but this place hits the spot when I have a craving. The location itself has changed over the years and is a very clean and casual atmosphere. Customer service is good; they are always polite and courteous. I once was given the wrong order and they switched it out swiftly as well as deducted the meal off the check which I was surprised about. Debit/Credit cards are accepted. My son and I like the sweet and sour chicken lunch combo and my grandmother enjoyed the lemon chicken lunch special. My son is not a fan of Chinese food but loves this place. My grandmother and my son did not care for the chow mein noodles which are thinner then they are used to. They said the oil tasted different then what they are used to as well. I myself enjoy them. I ordered orange chicken and it tasted like nothing I have ate before. The orange chicken has a way to thick batter coating. It's huge pieces and Not crispy and taste blend. It's fade and tasteless. The owner is Malaysian and is very friendly. The food is not authentic Chinese but is ok if you are super hungry and need something fast and cheap. The Hot n sour soup is ok, thicker and more greasy than normal. The shrimps in Schezuan sauce are not spicy but it's a decent dish overall. Egg roll Express actually uses their own people to deliver not grub hub, that's just how payment and order is processed. THE ORDER SAID 30-40 min, IT TOOK 2 HOURS!!!!!! I was ordering for my 92 & 89 year old Chinese Grandparents only 1.1 mile away!! I had to call Grubhub directly to see why it was taking so long. I ordered at 11:55am, eta jumped to 2:05, so at 1:23pm I called Grubhub. Their fast phone service told me that the restaurant was handing delivery and they were preparing now. As soon as I call the restaurant worker has an attitude and keeps asking me if I remembered my last order. The service here is also quick and very friendly. Everything is priced very average, not too pricey. the food comes family style so you can at least feed of 4-10 depending on how much food you decide to order. My family and I have been coming to Egg Roll Express for years! We always order the BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Steamed Dumplings, and the Chicken Salad. We've tried other dishes like Beef and Broccoli, Cashew Chicken, and Honey and Walnut Shrimp. A lot of great meals here, for an excellent price! ERE does not disappoint. Funny thing we've lived down the street for 4 years and jus tried within the past year but I guess it's been around for ages. A friend who lived here in the 70-90s was raving about it. First time we dined in for dinner cause it looked nice inside. Plus they have a big fish tank kids can admire (to stay busy!) We usually do the orange chicken and beef chow fun. Last night I did the sweet and sour chicken and it was very yummy! I just like this little corner Chinese restaurant.
