Tasty breakfast with leaf tea and delicious skillet. Perfectly cooked eggs and veggies. We got to pick what veggies we'd like and if we wanted an English muffin (that's a no for me) or wonderful wheat bread. The jelly tasted homemade. Service was quick and professional. The server kept our beverages filled and was ready with a to-go box for my leftovers. She was never obtrusive, especially since I was meeting with my boss. Got here shortly after they opened on a Monday. The good: small personal pitcher of water and coffee. Sat promptly with my choice if seat. Order a breakfast skillet here and you'll get the basics done well. The iced tea with your own mini-carafe is nice too. Avoid the "homemade" biscuit and gravy. The biscuit is a chewy disk and the gravy tasteless. I left half a biscuit untouched. Very nice staff. read more

We stopped by for lunch after my gluten-free friend landed for a visit! We specifically chose Egg Harbor because of its extensive, dedicated gluten-free menu. She was ecstatic with the number of options and the level of care taken to her allergies. They even brought out her food separately to make sure there was no room for it to cross-contaminate with my food. Always top notch but I just learned they validate parking in the lot next door! That makes things a whole lot easier. Visited today again - after multiple rounds of takeout over the past few months. Always delicious and also quick - food comes out relatively quickly. Lots of great breakfast options. I usually am here for lunch but today did breakfast - you can get your eggs in multiple ways and even in a wrap! I had the bacado (bacon, avocado, cheese, etc). It was great - with harbor potatoes on the side (and some salsa and sour cream). Really tasty and a great portion size! Good coffee which you can also take to go at the end of your meal and lovely staff. Everyone is really friendly and they're helpful and don't rush you. VIBE: As might be expected of the genre, the dining room was white, bright, and lofty - not a bad scene for a Monday morning. There were only a few diners, so noise was not a problem. Booths were roomy. SERVICE: The staff was uniformly cheerful, cordial, and helpful. Food came out quickly. FOOD: A Bacado skillet (Mexican hash) was OK (heavy on potato and bacon, light on avocado). My companion said their pancakes were crumbly, as though they skimped on egg in the batter); I thought they tasted OK. Coffee was pretty bad; it was flat and old. Egg Harbor met our needs, but it was nothing special. If we were in a similar situation on a Monday morning, we might try it again. read more

My husband and I went there on a Monday afternoon the place is huge the service is phenomenal!! The front manager was super nice and our server was very attentive. Now the food we both had Gregg's Chili and egg omelette and it was so delicious. My husband also had cinnamon roll French toast and he said he loved It!! Our first experiences at Egg Harbor were in Hinsdale. How great that was! Many years later, an Elmhurst location opened. Since my husband and I worked in Elmhurst, we regularly ate lunch there. After many years of enjoyable meals, I was thrilled to learn Egg Harbor was coming to Oak Park. I was there for breakfast as soon as they opened! I was happy to learn these restaurants are still family owned. Oak Park Egg Harbor's food is delicious, as it always has been at every location I've been to. The menu is varied. Something for every taste. Eggs, crepes, waffles, smoothies, skillets, soups, salads, Door County Chicken salad!, even burgers. A kids' menu, too. Breakfasts or lunches are equally delicious. The atmosphere is bright and open. Spotlessly clean. Oak Park's manager is welcoming and upbeat. The servers are friendly and helpful. I recently found out that there is validated parking at the parking garage, which is a plus. Went here for post work brunch with coworkers and we loved everything we ordered! Service was fast and friendly but we did notice that we weren't offered water and had to ask for it midway through our meal. All in all would recommend food especially the Lobster Scrambler! I love this new breakfast spot in Oak Park! Perhaps they are not "new" anymore, but it was new for me and I loved how enthusiastic the staff is as well as how fresh the food it. I loved the chili- it was warm and hearty, and had some much nice additions like the fresh tomatoes and herbs on top. And the fresh fruit bowl was a marvelous surprise as often "fresh fruit" at a diner is really just melons topped with one mushy grape. Nope. This bowl was a very generous size and had blackberries, strawberries, melon- and it was just cut up, not soggy at all! The restaurant was busy, but the tables are nicely spaced out so it doesn't feel overwhelming or too noisy. I didn't catch our two servers names, darn. They were amazing. So friendly and as I said above, enthusiastic, even at the end of their shift as the restaurant was closing when we were leaving. This seems like a jolly place to work and is a super fun place for a breakfast or brunch. I will definitely return. read more

Raw spinach and mushrooms....I really should have sent the whole thing back but was hungry and service was nowhere around so I scraped off uncooked mushrooms and spinach and ate the English muffin and tomato and sopped up some egg.
