I stopped by on a Monday and ordered a smoothie and a wrap. The smoothie came out in a reasonable…read moreamount of time, but it was missing ingredients. The food, however, took nearly 30 minutes--and every 10 minutes or so, someone came over to let me know yet another ingredient was unavailable. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and the avocado was rubbery. I felt sick trying to eat it. To be clear, the staff members were incredibly kind and professional--it's not their fault that management can't keep basic ingredients in stock. I even thanked them for their effort and time. But the food itself was just not edible. They kindly brought over the blonde male manager to process a refund, and that's where things went downhill. He was extremely rude and dismissive. I remained polite, but he clearly didn't care about the experience or the quality of what was served. Honestly, he should've been embarrassed--there's no way he would have eaten what I was given. Overall, a horrible experience saved only by the professionalism of the frontline staff. Management, especially the manager I interacted with, was the real disappointment.

The Local 84 Cafe is the juice & salad/sandwich/quinoa bowl cafe inside of the Fitness Formula…read moreHealth club in Oak Park, on the third floor. I don't know if it is actually open to the public or just for members and guests at FFC. I've been coming here for years, but never realized it had its own Yelp page. Today, I am enjoying a post-swim 12-ounce "Energizer": Orange, cucumber, carrot, and apple juice. It is priced heartily at $6.60, tax included. It is prepared fresh, so be prepared for a short wait for the fresh juices and smoothies. There is also a grab-and-go cooler with many different energy drinks, bottled water, and flavored waters. I think $6.60 for a fresh juice and $7.85 for a fresh fruit smoothie is probably the going rate in this area. That price is too high for me to be a regular thing, but I enjoy one once a month.

Buyer Beware: THIS IS HERBALIFE Now then, now that it's out…read morethere let's start. If you are an outsider to the Herbalife world, (like myself) you wouldn't even know looking at this place. That's my first issue, as you can see, a yelper is letting you know, not the actual business! That right there, is wrong. My family and I felt very mislead. Now, I'm not trying to be rude. But hopefully after my review, the company makes some changes. Now, this is not to say Herbalife products don't work or aren't helpful. That I wouldn't know as I've never bought into it (well except today I supposed). That's my second issue with this place. There is no signage in store or on their Instagram page that this is Herbalife based. This is also wrong. A: if you are a proud business owner, why not tell everyone what the main foundation of your company is? B: it is dangerous not to disclose what is going into your drinks i.e. nuts, soy, dairy etc. My family was beyond stoked that we were getting a smoothie joint near the area, and walking distance too! But unfortunately this is not a smoothie bar, where you can pick and choose ingredients like fruits, milks or powders. This is worrisome because no one asked if we had any allergens. What if someone walks in who does and they think they are just getting a regular blueberry smoothie with regular milk? Very very dangerous. There are no nutritional labels near the menu or on the actual cups. This should also be disclosed. Now if you are an avid athlete or you'd just like to kick start your life into a healthier direction, this is great! But again, what are we really drinking? We wouldn't know. I'm giving this place 1 star, not because people where rude or the place was dirty. One star because being mislead is wrong and dangerous. It's wrong to pose as a regular smoothie caffe and charge high prices because there's protein inside. Please disclose the actual company at its roots, please create nutritional labels and please provide allergens. My husband and I spent $16 on two smoothies! We didn't taste (due to Covid) until we were outside. It honestly just felt like we were taken advantage of. It seems like the owner doesn't want to disclose its Herbalife because maybe they will lose out on business. Hopefully my review spares others who plain and simple just don't want these products for whatever reason. It's our right, and this place feels forceful upon inspection.
