Really great breakfast. Make sure to get on waitlist ahead of time. Totally worth the wait though. Loved the skillet.

Waitstaff was very nice and the food was tasty. Coffee was a little weak but maybe we just got a bad batch. I would go back.

The Egg Harbor Cafe runs like a Swiss clock - perfectly! Serving the number of people that cram into this restaurant for a Sunday brunch is astounding. And they don't skip a beat. From their online waitlist to their front of the house greeters, seaters, and shot callers, they all move like Olympic Synchronized Swimmers. Then add in the waiters, buses, cooks, platers, and whoever else makes this chaos not chaotic deserve honorable mention. I was dually impressed. The breakfast menu has something for everyone. If you can't make a selection from their comprehensive bill of fare, you might try a Sri Lankan restaurant. I had a really wonderful bacon / avocado omelet with potatoes, muffins, and a particularly good homemade jam. I loved it. My wife had a very good black bean chili that hit the spot for her. I'm loving my first two months here in Chicago. I'm eating as good here than anywhere I've ever been. The Egg Harbor Cafe is just another exceptional notch in my already notched Chicago belt. read more

By far one of my favorite breakfasts I have had!! Egg harbor is an adorable restaurant with a wide menu that has something for everyone. They have great specials with different foods to try. I ordered the Venetian Bagelwich and it was incredible and very filling! The potatoes that came with it were great too! The drinks were amazing (we tried both the Limoncello Sunrise and Blackberry Lavender Lemosa) and the staff were so kind as well. I can't wait to go back next time I am in the city and would recommend for everyone to go! read more

The food was excellent! BUT DO NOT ORDER THE BLOODY MARY!!! We love to try bloody Mary's when we travel and often choose a fun brunch spot based on this. The photos were enticing for theirs so we tried it. The mix was like a pure pickling vinegar. It looked amazing and we loved the accoutrements but we could hardly choke down the drink. After a few attempts spread out over the meal, we finally asked to send it back. Our waitress- who was great btw- immediately asked if it was too sour. Apparently they have a vendor who isn't adjusting to the many complaints. She took it off our bill and we moved on! Otherwise, great food, great service, cheerful spot. read more

Egg Harbor is quickly becoming one of my go to brunch/lunch spots. Let's be honest - I'll never be up and ready in time for breakfast. I adore their farm chic decor - so charming! They also have a quick serve espresso - beverage bar which allows you to get one of their delicious caffeinated bevs and get out the door super quick! But, if you're staying for brunch/lunch, you're in for a treat. They have a fantastic variety of eggs Benedict along with delicious breakfast potatoes and English muffins with great fruit jams! For the more lunch menu they have wallet friendly soup/salad and sandwich combos, the tortilla soup is so good! My fav so far is the turkey avocado sandwich - insider tip: it's served on Texas toast, and trust me when I say I love me some carbs; but if you're trying to cut down and take it easy on the carb front, they will happily put it in a wrap for you. To top it off. They press the wrap so the cheese is happy and melty. If you order the full sandwich it comes with a lovely little salad with a delicious poppyseed dressing, and breakfasts potatoes. YUM! The wrap version of the sandwich is huge and you can at 1/2 the sandwich potatoes and salad and take the rest home for later - I put mine in the toaster oven and it was just as good as it was the day before. Give egg harbor a try - I'm sure you'll have an egg-cellent time! read more

We were downtown and wanted breakfast, but nothing looked good. I saw Egg Harbor a little north of there and knew we had to go. I had been to an Egg Harbor in the far north burbs. This location puts all of the others in the dust. The decor is modern, bright and very cool. The food is AMAZING. They have standard breakfast fare, but elevated. I had scrambled eggs with potatoes, bacon, apples and brie. So. Good! The staff was very nice and attentive without being overly so. Will for sure be back read more

Thought this place was very solid for being/feeling like a chain. I had been refreshing the waitlist online and kept getting a message that there wasn't one so it was a little bit of a bummer to show up to a line but maybe 9 AM hit and the line formed? Once we were finally sat, everything was good. I got a really good iced pumpkin spice latte and everyone's food was good though maybe not super memorable. read more

Total yum! A great variety of egg dishes and fast, friendly service in a nice ambience. The only downside is that long lines out the door may exist on the weekends because this place is so popular. read more

I came on a weekday for brunch, and was seated right away. Our table was located by the window which had a nice view and brought in lots of natural light. The interior is chic with a modern farmhouse feel. I appreciate that they have the calories listed next to each menu item. The menu has more variety when it comes to savory options vs the sweet items. The lobster scrambler that I ordered was super tasty. I don't think I've had anything else like it at other breakfast cafes. The seafood blend combined with cream cheese and green onions reminded me of crab Rangoon filling (which I love). The order comes with a buttered english muffin with a delicious house-made berry jam. read more

The place is very chic and an aesthetically pleasing environment. Staff was very patient and attentive to customers. The avocado toast was good but the eggs were a bit runny. The pancakes were fantastic!! It's really close to Michigan Avenue which is nice for the shoppers! read more

A friend and I visited Egg Harbor during my visit to Chicago. I've been to one in Georgia, so I expected the food to be just as good and it was! Service was great and the location allowed for lots of natural light that created a warm ambiance. I did try something new and ordered their matcha latte. I enjoyed it! It was better than what I've had at some coffee shops. read more

Just ordered a delicious breakfast via DoorDash. We opted for the create a scrambler with sausage, spinach and cheddar. Great choice. I also had the grits special that included bacon and jalepeno. I was happy that everything was warm when it arrived. The food was well seasoned and prepared and the presentation as well. I tried the lavender chai - this is a new concept for me but it was ok. Definitely stronger than I initially thought but worth a try. I definitely recommend. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this new addition to the breakfast scene. A couple of friends suggested we go on Saturday around noon and we only had to wait ~5 minutes for a booth to open up. And bonus: if you just want to grab a coffee and go, they have a barista counter at the front. The space has big windows, so it has lots of light and clean, simple decor. The menu has tons of options, but I settled on the habanero hash and eggs (~$11) and a latte. Everything was delicious and good portion size. Plus service was really good all around. I'm a fan! read more

Great experience! See my thoughts below: Wait Time: Basically none. You can put your name in the waitlist online ahead of time, and we did that. For a party of 2 for Sunday Brunch, we had a table ready in maybe 20 mins. Once we walked in, we were seated right away. Food: The food was awesome. I got an omelette that came with potatoes and english muffins, as well as a Peppermint Mocha (gotta be festive). My GF got a skillet that came with fruit and french toast. Both of us loved our food, and left feeling full. Portions are good, we didn't have to wait to long, it was just all around a great meal. Service: Service was great. From the hostess all the way to the cashier at the end, everybody was incredibly nice. As we needed things throughout the meal, our waiter was attentive and friendly. Not a single complaint out of me. Price: Reasonable. I'd say this is comparable pricing to Yolk but with far better quality. For my money, this was a great option. I will be going back here - and you can quote me on that! read more

Not what we were expecting. The food was very bland, we had the "create your own skillet". There was no seasoning to the skillet. The legit only put potatoes and our meat and mixed it together. $50 for our bill, I could've made this dish with my eyes closed. I had to add my own seasoning and sauce to make it tasty. It was also really dry. Overall, it was alright but could be better. I wouldn't go back read more

We wre in chicago for 6 days and yes this was our to go breakfast place. Service is amazing. Walking distance from everything

Weak hollandaise, don't serve Benedict's with that please. Using the powder mix is the worst thing you can do

Just wanted to say that dining at Egg Harbor has been a staple of my husband's radiation treatments which take place just steps away. The service, the food and the overall atmosphere is so welcoming. We look forward to our weekly visits - a high point amidst the ordeal of cancer treatments. Special shoutouts to Elizabeth, Aletha, and José... but the collaborative teamwork among the staff is completely tangible. Great job, y'all read more

Visited while out of town and it was SO good. My friend ordered pancakes and eggs with bacon and she rated hers 5/5 stars. I am gluten free and was so excited for a gluten free menu! I ordered the cinnamon roll (gf) with eggs, potato's and bacon. The bacon was meh but everything else was excellent! Totally recommend coming here for gluten free as the menu was pretty large and had tons of options! read more

Good food, good creative menu, friendly service. The restaurant was beautiful inside with lots of wood. Open layout so a little noisy but not bad. Prices are reasonable for downtown read more

Ham and cheese omelette was nothing special. The 'cheese' was just a slice of cheese partially melted on top of the folded egg ...a bit odd. The place and staff are nice so I'll give it another chance and order something other than the omelette. read more

Honestly I wasn't a fan of the food. Ordered my eggs soft scrambled, they came with a ton of oil. Potatoes lacked flavor, but they were crispy. The service and staff were great and so was the Smores latte. Not sure if I will give them another shot. read more

My new favorite breakfast in Streeterville! I loved everything about my experience here. I really liked the atmosphere, and the long booth was perfect for our group of 7. I was also excited to see that they serve Big Shoulders coffee, as it's one of my favorites in Chicago. For brunch, I got the griddle combo with cinnamon roll french toast (one of their most popular dishes) and eggs. I loved the French toast - it was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside & had a delicious cinnamon filling. Instead of syrup, it came with icing which was perfectly sweet. I also liked that the table had a special egg seasoning which was definitely more exciting than your typical salt & pepper. The service was really friendly and even split the bill for all 7 of us. Everyone else was also very happy with their meals, so we will definitely be back! read more

The food is tasty but the service was awful. The hostess was very friendly and quickly seated us, but our server was barely at our table. It took us over 20 minutes to get our drinks ordered and we just ended up telling our food order at the same time since we had to wait so long. The food was very yummy which is why we were so bummed that the service was bad. If you do end up going the habanero hash is delicious! Luckily you go up to the counter to pay so we didn't have to wait for our waiter to pay. read more

We stopped by at this place on a Saturday morning for brunch. The place has indoor as well as outdoor seating. We walked here from the hotel that we were staying at, so I don't know about the parking situation. But there is no easy parking available in Chicago downtown most of the times. I had ordered an iced lavender dirty chai and a farmer's market Benedict. The food was good, ambience was amazing. We had chosen to have an outdoor eat so we could enjoy the beautiful sunny day. I would definitely revisit if I visit Iyer Chicago again. read more

Hi I'm a disappointed customer I have been going to egg harbor restaurants for years for the chicken rice soup. Lately the soup has been tasting like dish water, there is very little chicken and rice in the soup. I have been going to the Elmhurst and Oabrook restaurants and they both is a big disappointment. I can understand saving money but I rather pay more and get some soup that I can at least eat. This has happen to me several times so I will not be returning to Egg Harbor Restaurants read more

We took a chance on this restaurant as it had under 200 reviews at the time of our visit. Not pictured but also at our table was Texas French toast and a kids pancake egg and bacon plate. Everything was very delicious and fresh. The place was also pretty busy. Definitely a hidden gem. read more

We visit Chicago often and are always looking for new places. We used to frequent another big breakfast place in the area that had long wait times But after visiting Egg Harbor, we won't be going back. It exceeded our expectations as the food was excellent. It felt light after eating plenty and absolutely was fresh. We ordered the San Antonio skillet no meat and an order of blueberry pancakes. Both excellent choices. Skillet was generous and perfectly spicy. My husband also loved the pancakes. Service was excellent! Highly recommend read more

If a cook does not know the difference between eggs hard and eggs brown, then they should not be near anyones kitchen. We waited nearly 1 1/2 hour for a table.
