We waited 20 minutes but it was worth it. The staff was so friendly. The prices are reasonable and the food was delicious. We were seated in the plastic enclosure that felt open as it was clear but also private at the same time. They had individual packets of condiments to limit the amount of touching. There are so many items to choose from the menu. I went with the lobster scramble and the sauce and cream cheese combination was so good! My husband got the waffle combo with bacon and scrambled eggs which were also tasty. I could not resist trying them of course. I also substituted the English muffin for the small pancakes and that hit the spot. I want to come back and try other items. read more

We went here on a Sunday morning right when they opened. We got a table right away. I ordered the chilaquiles because the pictures others posted looked so good. However, I do not recommend them. The sauce was like a canned Hormel chili instead of an enchilada sauce. The meal overall did not hold much interest and I couldn't even get half way through it. (And I love chilaquiles). The cinnamon roll French toast was tasty. Also the tea was excellent. It was the berry one (can't recall what kind). read more

If you are looking for a delicious breakfast joint with flavorful coffee, fresh offerings, and quick service, Egg Harbor has you covered. The whole place is delightfully decorated with cool cups, plates, and decor. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The coffee comes out hot and quick with unlimited refills. I ordered a Philly Cheese Skillet and was (happily) surprised with the nice size of the portions. The rest of my party's dishes were very well portioned too so you probably won't leave hungry. The food was delicious and fresh. The menu has so many "wow, that sounds good" items that makes this an easy place to want to come back to. To finish off, they provided to-go cups with fresh coffee when we were done eating. All in all, if you want nice coffee, fresh breakfast, and great service with a positive atmosphere at a very reasonable price, Egg Harbor Cafe has my recommendation. read more

The place really deserves 3.5 stars. The food was very good but the service experience was not personable. It took about 10 minutes to have our waiter come greet us and take our drink order. If you want water make sure you order it because they won't bring it out as I would had expected on a warm day. They are very accommodating when it comes to changing the food choices around. My sweet potato hash had everything I would have substituted a traditional hash would bring so no changes to it. I did ask for sourdough toast as opposed to English muffins. After placing our order for a table of 4, it took about 35 minutes to get our meal. The waiter taking care of us didn't even come to refill drinks or offer any other drinks in the entire time we were waiting for the food. A completely different server ended up bringing our breakfast. My food came out with the wrong bread choice, which is a normal mistake, and they brought the other toast choice fairly quick. It was somewhat interesting that 3 plates came out at the same time but it took about 5 minutes to bring the last plate. Then, after asking if we needed anything else, we didn't see another server for the rest of the time until our original waiter comes out with the bill while we were still eating and says to just go to the front to pay. Again, no questions on how the food was or if we needed anything else. And to top the entire experience, it was very very warm at the restaurant. read more

Loved loved loved! Signed into the waitlist online while we walked over from our hotel. We had about a 10 minute wait while other just arriving were quoted 45 minutes. Glad I had taken that step. We were sat in a nice size booth that could easily fit six. Ordered coffee with a vanilla shot. Drinks came quickly but the vanilla was a little heavy handed. Ordered the Shashuka and Carnitas Skillet. We both loved our dishes. We even ordered a jar of their jam to go. We enjoyed all of it. The only subpar would be our server. He was efficient and didn't do anything wrong; however he had no personality or friendliness. He basically asked us what we wanted, dropped food and the check. No other interaction. I will say that was a big trend in the service we received at most of the restaurants we went to while in the city. read more

The sandwich was awful. It tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge and then warmed up. And then sat out until it was time to be served. The omelet was mid. And all they did with bacon was put syrup on it. The only reason they have one star is because of the pancake. read more

Subbed the English muffin for a bagel. Healthy Joe wasn't terrible but wasn't great. The egg whites were COVERED in mozzarella cheese. Ate about half of it. Not much flavor. Bagel was meh, normal bagel. I'm sure other things on the menu are much better. Coffee was the best part but $8 for a latte seemed a bit pricey, wasn't THAT good. Service was great and was a cute spot, would recommend something else on the menu though. read more

First time trying Egg Harbor Cafe in the city. There are so many gluten free options. I was worried there would be a long wait since it was packed and looked super busy. There was no wait for us and we got to our seat right away. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about all the options. I got the GF Cinnamon Roll breakfast. The cinnamon roll was a bit dense and had too much frosting but still a good option since it is hard to find gf cinnamon rolls! Not sure but I thought potatoes were supposed to come with my dish. Regardless lots of food and very filling! read more

The food was good and the staff were attentive. Eggs Benedict with the potatoes was excellent!!

Amazing Avo Toast! Fresh Mozzerella, delicious balsamic, fresh tomatoes... perfect amount of Avo spread and the crunch of the toast was on point! The coffee was so delicious! My kid loved the green eggs and ham! And my husband said it was his favorite breakfast in Chicago. Our meal came out super quickly! The restaurant was clean and super cozy... I love the brick walls, big windows, and living plants! We had multiple servers throughout the meal and one was really nice, one was amazingly friendly, and one was a little rude. Lol. ‍ All in all-- an amazing breakfast! read more

I haven't been to an Egg Harbor Cafe in quite some time, but I had lunch at this location this past week and I gotta tell you, it was pretty darn good. I ordered the Door County Melt, which was huge and delicious. I ate every bite! I also ate every bite of the giant side of potatoes it came with. Sadly, I could barely make a dent in the very nice side salad that came with my meal as well. Service was SUPER great and friendly at every touch point. Great value for the price. read more

Came here because it was a 8 minute walk from my hotel the Hyatt Regency Chicago for our stay here. We placed our names on a waitlist online on their website. Highly recommend doing this especially if you're coming on a weekend! It happened to be Father's Day when we visited, so our wait was about 40 minutes on Sunday morning when we placed our names on the waitlist. They text you when the table is ready! There is outdoor dining available but it doesn't have an option when you put your name on the waitlist, kinda wished there was! The place was packed! But they did their best with the plexiglass in between the booths. Not all staff members were wearing masks. Only some of them wore masks. Waitress did a great job with giving us recommendations. Staff members were super nice. We ordered the special of the day which was a Philly cheesesteak skillet, with English muffins on the side, as well as the habanero hash and eggs, and because we wanted to try it but couldn't finish the whole thing the waitress recommend that we order one lemon poppyseed pancake. I also highly recommend order ing the strawberry orange juice! You can actually taste the freshly squeezed orange juice with a hint of strawberry in there! So good and refreshing for just $4. The habanero hash and eggs was good, but there was a lot of potatoes, so didn't taste the meat as much as we would like. Same thing with the Philly cheesesteak, steak was larger chunks and pretty good! But there was definitely way too much potatoes in there. The pancake was probably my favorite! I didn't need any syrup on it because the lemon icing on the poppyseed pancake was enough. The syrup tasted like Aunt Jemima pancake syrup anyway definitely didn't taste like real maple syrup. They give you the check decently early on and tell you to go to the front desk to pay for it whenever you are done. Definitely a gem in this area! read more

My husband and I first visit at the egg harbor cafe in Orland Park Illinois. The moment we walked in, we were pleasantly greeted by friendly and smiling faces. The ambience and decor is inviting and casual. Our server Marvin was so nice and pleasant. I ordered the whole wheat pancakes and medium sunny side up eggs, and a cup of hot coffee. My husband ordered the traditional breakfast with potatoes, whole wheat toast, sausage. We both enjoyed our late breakfast brunch and the very pleasant and professional service from Marvin. I truly appreciate and love great customer servic, especially when the food is delicious. We will definitely be repeat customers. Thank you Egg Harbor Cafe and Marvin. I wish you continued success. Great service! Tasty drink! Amazing food! Came here for my bday brunch with the boo and had a great time. We sat outside and had the option of normal menus or getting our menus via the QR code. Our waitress, Aletha, was top notch offering suggestions on drinks and entrees. She was attentive without being annoying. 5 stars I got the Honeybee Harborccino and it was amazing! Delicious and refreshing...so much so that I had two! 5 stars I had the Lobster Scrambler and it was definitely a smart pick! Food and service is always good. Enjoy that we can get lunch items, even early in the morning. Only complaint is I wish they would use the Yelp wait list on the weekends. Waits can get super long, and there isn't much room for waiting customers. Waiting outside is not fun in the winter. read more

If I could've given zero stars, I would have! I was seated for breakfast right away on my visit yesterday August 8, 2022. Victoria H was my server and seemed really friendly, at first. I placed my order and she brought all necessities promptly. She came with my food and decided to hand me the plate instead of sitting it on the table, which she ended up doing because I had to move things to make room for the plate. After this encounter a different waitress brought me 1 extra napkin that was in a tray that looked like it had things sitting on it for quite some time. The napkin was NOT fresh. It was folded and seemed to have had things sitting on it. Victoria H. NEVER returned to my table. I had to get the host to get my bill. She was a HORRIBLE server and she definitely did NOT receive a tip! I will NEVER return to this restaurant again! read more

Egg Harbor Cafe has delicious breakfast omelettes and potatoes. It was my first time visiting this cafe while in Chicago for work and after I saw their great reviews I wanted to check it out. There was a slight wait line in the morning but wasn't too bad. It is a large cafe with lots of waiters and they have nice restrooms in case if you need to go. I would recommend anyone who is in town to visit and looking for a breakfast/brunch place to chill and eat. read more

I went to Egg Harbor Cafe at 220 E. Illinois St in Chicago this morning for the first TIME with a friend and the experience was AWESOME, we had like 3 different waiters which I thought was pretty cool. The ambiance really looks like a harbor, my favorite waiter hands down was Charity. She was so attentive, nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. I recommend getting the strawberry French toast! It's to die for. Oh and they also have spiked drinks during lunch time. I told Charity I'll be back! 10/10 y'all must TRY read more

Egg Harbor, you were fantastic on our first visit that we had to go a second time, kinda wish we wouldn't have gone the second time. On our first visit my wife had the carnitas skillet while I had the Ultimate skillet. From the service, thanks Victoria and Dan, to the food everything was perfect. We went a second time and the food was a complete miss. They didn't have grits, my wife's hashbrowns were not like cooked enough, our potatoes were cold and hard and the skillet my daughter ordered was really hard to eat because the meat was really and I mean really hard. read more

First time here. I planned ahead and was on the wait list. When I arrived it was very busy. I waited 3 minutes and was seated. The service was good. The food was great! My son wanted to spilt the cinnamon French toast and I highly recommend adding chocolate chips like we did. The cinnamon butter is amazing! He ordered the cinnamon swirl pancakes, scrambled eggs and we split the sausage and bacon. All of it cooked perfectly! I ordered the lobster scramble and OMG Yolk move over with your salmon omelette. I don't want anything but this lobster scramble ever again. This came with potatoes, but I asked for the breakfast potatoes which seem to be cooked softer and not crispy. The reason for the 4 stars is because I felt our server was rushing us. We weren't midway through our food and he brought over the check. He had stopped by us after our food was brought over, asked if there was anything else we needed and two minutes later was there with the check. I didn't see him for some time after. My son is 9. I don't expect him to down food at an incredible pace. When the server came back around he asked if he could take anything away... most of the plates had food and I already condensed unused plates. One would assume you offer to go boxes first. I asked for to go boxes and said my son wasn't finished yet. Mind you my order was $70 for just my son and I. Little did he know I also had coworkers nearby that asked me to bring them food. I work not too far from here and it was my off day. Once he brought back the boxes and I asked him to make 3 to go orders his mood heightened and he was back to the happy go lucky guy that first took our order. Smh.... Either way I'll come back and hopefully the next time I won't feel rushed. If you come here expect amazing food! The other servers seemed great from start to finish as far as I could tell. Love the open feel of this place! read more

This is a solid brunch place with great service. I got the Cassie's crepes dish which was advertised to have cheese, eggs, mushrooms, and avocado, but it only had one tiny slice of avocado for garnish.
