First time at Egg Harbor Cafe and our last stop before heading home. This is definitely one of our favorite places we ate. We will definitely be coming back. We enjoyed brunch with delicious dishes. We ordered a Matcha Latte, a Chai Tea Latte, a Latte and Coffee. All the drinks were served hot, not too sweet, just perfect in a cloudy snowy day. For our main dish we ordered a California Club, a Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast, a Traditional Breakfast and a Barrington Benedict. All dishes were served promptly. There were no left overs. My party was very happy with everything they ordered. Our waiter, Christian P., was very nice, polite and attentive. Great service. This is large space but has customers constantly coming in. I loved the decor. My favorite were the coffee cups they use. They also offer them for sale.

This is a super casual spot with a nice view and a lot of space, but there's no music so the vibes felt a little flat. 6/10. Service was great overall. Our server walked us through the menu since it was our first time. It did take a while to get water while we were already eating, but it was busy so it's understandable. 7/10. The cookie butter latte was just okay, nothing super memorable. 5/10. The breakfast skillet was decent, but I realized I'm probably just not a big potato person. 6.5/10. It came with an English muffin though and that was actually my favorite part, especially with the jam. 9/10. The 1985 burger was average... not the best burger I had 4/10. Come for the English muffin!

We came here after putting our name down at another place, and decided to walk the block to see if there were more options and stumbled upon Egg Harbor. All staff we encountered were kind, and shout out to our server as I had many questions that she helped me through. You can find just about anything on their menu which is a plus. I ordered the loaded potatoes with a side of their homemade cinnamon roll. Both were just ok! Both were equally dry, unfortunately. Even with adding the icing that came with the cinnamon roll, and the melted cheese on the potatoes. My fiance got a breakfast sandwich, which was also just ok. Loved how bright it was inside and how spacious it is! There appeared to be a patio area that seems like it would be hit with nice weather.

(Kari's Rating 9.5/10) I've been coming to egg Harbor since I was a kid, and I haven't been to this location, but it tasted exactly like my hometown suburb Egg Harbor. We didn't need a reservation for two when we walked in around 8:30 AM on a Sunday, but it did get increasingly busier as we were sitting down so if you have a larger party, I would definitely recommend joining the waitlist before showing up. We wanted both a sweet and savory entrée, so we got the Strawberry Crunch French toast and the Ultimate Skillet. I usually expect specialty French toast to be very syrup-heavy and artificial, but the strawberry cream cheese gave it a very light touch, but you didn't have to add any syrup. I don't know if I would necessarily call this a crunch centered French toast as there were pieces of granola, but the overall texture didn't change too much from traditional French toast. The skillet was impeccable, it is the perfect combination of flavor to vegetable ratio while also having the scrambled eggs on top paired with the crispy potatoes. Egg Harbor definitely prides itself on having their potatoes cooked in beef tallow for that extra flavor so they no longer give the seasonal salt they usually do. It was more than enough food for both of us and paired with the buttered English muffin with their specialty in-house made strawberry, blackberry and blueberry jam. We ended up taking home an 8 ounce jar for four dollars! The servers were very swift and on top of it. They're definitely busy in putting in the work, foot traffic wasn't too crazy and everyone seemed very relaxed, it wasn't very loud either. So you could easily have a conversation. As someone is not necessarily a breakfast person, this place was absolutely delicious, I know it's a chain, so don't come for me, but I would definitely get out of bed for this on occasion.

We had a 10 minute wait on a Tuesday morning, not bad during the holiday season! It's very cute inside with the tile and brick work. Our waitress was very friendly. We ordered a breakfast wrap, you can make your own. Overall, I thought it lacked flavor, even with choosing chorizo and jack cheeses. I thought it needed seasoning, salt and pepper would have made a difference on the eggs. The salsa was watery and lacked flavor as well. The breakfast potatoes were pretty good, but dry so you definitely needed ketchup. I would definitely recommend the pancakes though! They had a good diner-style to them. I also got a vanilla oat milk latte. It was pretty darn tasty! Would get again, or get one to go!

Brunching at Egg Harbor with the gal pals was a whole vibe We kicked things off with apple cider mimosas--sweet, crisp, and basically fall in a glass. Then the feast rolled in: a hearty egg skillet loaded with flavor, fresh fruit on the side, and the cutest little French toast that tasted like warm morning sunshine. I went for the avocado toast topped with fluffy scrambled egg whites and a big bowl of fruit, and every bite was perfection. The whole brunch was absolutely delicious, and the service was so friendly and helpful! Just a heads up--get there early because it's first come, first served and the line definitely builds... but trust me, it's worth the wait!

Great food, quality, and service! Only reason I would rank it a 4 out of 5 starts is because of the price for what you get... around $75 fed us (two people). In the suburbs, $75 would feed about 5 people... WITH leftovers. I miss that so much (haha). Getting back on point, I ordered the ultimate skillet and it was good with a side of two mini pancakes. We also had allergy restrictions so it was comforting that they were able to accommodate toward that / not feel judged or rushed or anything negative. Thank you waitress for that! To be fully honest, I don't plan on going back anytime soon but I appreciated the time & wouldn't ever talk bad about Egg Harbor Cafe! (If I do go back, it would for sure be in Oak Brook / Lombard location). Personal Review: 6.1/10

    Super fresh skillet!

I had easily one of the best skillets I've ever had. It was so delicious and tasted super fresh. Perfect amounts of toppings and the service was great! Went with my wife and mom and they each agreed. Nice location and they leave you a jug of coffee, which was rather nice! Bread comes with a jelly that's just amazing! Def found my new breakfast place!

Seated immediately on MLK day which was unexpected. Service was all super friendly and helpful. Love they bring a water carafe for table. Love their seating in big glass windows and was warm even on a freezing cold morning. The food was just okay. The skillet was way too salty but the side bread portion was large and the sourdough very good. My daughter ordered Nutella crepe and was underwhelmed compared with amount of Nutella. Side of bacon was good!My other daughter ordered banana French toast and thought portion was small and flavor was just okay. The coffee was hot and mugs super cute.

There was a short wait when we went on Labor Day weekend (Saturday), which was expected. I really liked that they take your name and number and text you when your table is ready, so you can explore nearby while waiting.. we checked out a book store down the street. As you can see from the pic, I ordered the avocado toast with an egg, and they definitely didn't skimp on the avocado. The food overall was good, and I especially loved that they offer free-refill iced coffee on the menu. Service was excellent, and overall it's a great spot I'd definitely recommend for breakfast!

Not wait time on a Friday morning. Friendly service San Antonio skillet 10/10. Crepes where nice and springy Nice relaxing breakfast

I've never seen quicker service omg. We arrived Friday morning around 9AM for breakfast and luckily got seated right away despite being so busy inside. I think it's partially because the workers are so fast and the food came out like 5 minutes after we ordered. They refilled our coffee and ice tea frequently and the efficiency was just so impressive. I am usually not an English muffin person (at least the grocery store kind because the baking soda can be overpowering) but theirs has great flavor and texture and their homemade jam is pristine. Delicious! In addition, we actually had to finish some work at the cafe and stayed longer past finishing our food and they never said anything to us about needing us to leave which we so appreciated!

We were looking for a good breakfast spot & found this gem. Egg Harbor Cafe is the perfect breakfast spot. We had the Eggs Benedict with house potatoes that had the perfect taste & crunch. The eggs were poached to perfection & the lavender chai latte was made perfectly. The wait was fast, waiters very attentive, and the restaurant while full did not feel crowded or loud. Loved the little waiting area for kids. Price point was also pretty reasonable for Chicago. The restaurant had great views & very central downtown location.

It's the kind of meal you forget about before you've even left the building. Overall, Beatrix ends up feeling like a hotel restaurant pretending to be a neighborhood favorite. If you want something reliable and inoffensive, it works. If you want something with flavor, personality, or any real sense of Chicago, there are far better options.

They've upped their happy hour game by including a rotating global cocktail with previous menu drinks and a daily kitchen special. This time, I ordered the oldest old fashioned and the Oaxaca old fashioned to drink. I thought the first was the best old fashioned I had ever had, but the second was even better! I loved the subtle yet not overpowering smokiness of the mezcal in the Oaxaca. Neither were too sweet and you could really taste the high quality bourbon. We ordered the Korean fried chicken and coconut shrimp to eat from the happy hour menu. The shrimp was super crispy with a delicious ginger-orange compote and rice vinegar pickled onions. Highly recommend! I did think the chicken was a bit tough, but the flavor was good. Another great experience of many to come! If you haven't stopped by Arbella yet, add this to your bucket list asap!

We started for a round at the bar while waiting for the whole party to arrive before we moved to a table, so we got to see a little bit of everyone in action. Every staff member we interacted with was so friendly that it felt like we could've invited them to join us at our table. We tried a solid assortment across the menu and didn't have a single complaint. The curried shrimp and the squid ink pasta were among my favorites, but the venison (a less common appearance on most menus) was absolutely fantastic. Dimly lit but still welcoming vibe, great for a date night or girls night out.

With tip, the bill for our party came to about $400 for the same quality you could find in the suburbs. It really pains me to say that because I had really high hopes. We ordered Parker house rolls (good), the Brussels sprouts that were served on toasted bread (sprouts were good and toast was weird), polenta and mushrooms (really liked those), salmon (adequately good), 2 steaks (average to good), and a burger (good). Don't get me wrong. Nothing was bad. It was good food. But worth $400? No. The star of the show was the strawberry sundae. It was fantastic. I just wish all the food was a homerun too. Very nice ambience. I really liked the vibe

This year I was so excited to bring my family and Ema was the only restaurant in Chicago I couldn't wait for them to try. I booked it as our final meal in Chicago and lay awake at 4am being so disappointed in my choice. Our server's greeting was monotone and emotionless, which I realize now, would be foreshadowing the meal to come. Ordered the following 1) Smoky eggplant- arrived appearing as an unappetizing curdled purple grey mush. This was the worst tasting baba ghanouj I have ever eaten. It was acidic and had the texture of cottage cheese. The only redeeming thing about this appetizer was the warm naan. 2) house made stratciatella with side of green falafels- The stratciatella was bland and stringy. I would not order this dish expecting the creamy interior of typical burrata. However, if you like string cheese mixed with heavy cream- you may enjoy this dish. The tomatoes and basil were good. 3) chicken kefta- kefta was bland, rice even blander . 4) short rib with polenta- bland and the meat and polenta had the same texture, which seems impossible but somehow the plating was over complicated by the addition of mushy dates and grapes. 5) buttered noodles- my 8 year old ordered this. It was decent with a good amount of Parmesan and cooked perfectly al dente. By the end of the meal, I was so shocked by how terrible the food was I didn't even want to order the sticky date cake that was my main purpose for returning to this restaurant. Ema, what happened to you?!
