Love me Sunday brunch and this place is perfect for it =) This location is fairly large, seems to fit about 80ish people among all the different rooms. It's a very laid back, average lookin brunch spot. Nothing fancy but well maintained. Definitely try and get here by 930am or earlier, I noticed that my around 10am the wait time was waaaay long, 30 mins to an hour long. Thankfully my group got there just in time (930ish) and we were seated right away. Service was great from start to finish - drink orders were taken within a few mins of being seated and food orders were taken once our drinks were set on our table. Even with a packed house our server kept up with the hustle and bustle. We were in and out within an hour and 15 mins. The food and drinks here are pretty standard compared to other comparable/average brunch places. Portion sizes are generous, I don't typically leave with a to go bag however my tummy always goes home full and satisfied! Great breakfast food and friendly service. They are quick to get your food out but always nice. You can even get a to-go cup for your drink before you leave if you'd like to take your iced tea etc on the road. Try the cinnamon roll French toast. It's delicious! Egg Harbor is another top spot for brunching in my book! This morning, I had my favorite blackberry iced tea and the Alpine scrambler. My friends had hot blueberry tea, which smelled delicious. Our server was very nice but not available to us beyond ordering. She eventually brought boxes and checked us out. The restaurant was medium busy mid Wednesday morning. She seemed to have tables all over the place. It may have been a shortage of servers, but it did not appear that way. first time at this location. the wait was only 15 minutes which was surprising for mother's day. when we got seated we got asked what we wanted to drink right away. we got a momosa, a regular mimosa, and a spicy bloody mary. all were a 10/10. the spice was no joke. the momosa had a nice sparkle to it as well as taste. the mimosa was your typical mimosa. for food we got the avocado chicken sandwich which came with potatoes and salad. very delicious and good for the price. 9/10 the swedish pancakes combo-8/10, the eggs were okay nothing too crazy. the bacon was nicely cooked and i loved the berries and the actual pancake. haven't had anything like it before san antonio skillet 10/10. have nothing to complain about dynamite veggie omelet 7/10- could use some more seasoning to the actual omelet overall service was very nice. every mom received a flower and everything went well. for four people the total was $97 including 4 entree and 6 different drinks. read more

I am always a fan of Egg Harbor when I eat out for breakfast in the suburbs, so I am finally getting around to reviewing!! I love their seasonal menus (fruit crepe being one of my past favorites), but the down home or the Belgium waffle are some of my go-to favorites, as well! This trip, I tried the avocado toast which I hadn't seen on the menu before! It was amazing - The balsamic glaze was a perfect touch, and all of the ingredients seemed very fresh. The sour dough was also great! The avocado toast comes with a fruit cup and eggs. The fruit cup way very berry and orange heavy which I loved! However, the eggs were a bit odd as they had a dense texture I didn't enjoy. Whenever I visit, I ALWAYS get the strawberry orange juice. It is a classic and always tastes so amazing in the morning. We came here on the Monday New Year's Day holiday and it only had about a 10 minute wait, we did join the online waitlist before arriving at the restaurant so that the wait was short. Once seated we were promptly greeted and all their staff was extremely friendly. I ordered the eggceptional skillet combo which included a mini skillet that I could creat, fruit, and French toast! This is a great deal if you're looking for a sweet treat in the French toast and a salty side with the skillet. Their lattes and coffee drinks are always delicious and they offer a dairy alternative Myracle Mylk for their coffees! Highly recommend as this is our go to brunch spot. read more

It's been years since I've ordered from here, but decided to treat myself for my birthday. I got my favorite - the Door County Melt, and my husband got the Spicy Ranch Chicken Burger. Both entrees come with harbor potatoes and a side salad. Both sandwiches were pretty good, although I remember the melt being a little more stuffed with chicken salad in the past. The poppy seed salad dressing is amazing and really makes eating what would normally be a pretty boring salad, delightful. The harbor potatoes, while plentiful, could have had more seasoning, so I added paprika, salt, and pepper to them. Their pickup system, Toast, is very nice. It texts you when the food is ready which worked out nicely since we arrived to the area early and went to the nearby record shop to browse while waiting. read more

It's located right in downtown Wheaton, so it's easy to get to, has ample seating indoors, the food is fantastic, and the service is wonderful. Everything on the menu sounds good and everything we had didn't disappoint. Naturally I had the Eggs Benedict but I subbed in the Habanero Hash as the side and WOW. Just WOW. Absolutely mind-blowing. Shortly after we were seated in the nearly full restaurant, a big crowd of customers began coming in (we were thankful for our timing). Our waitress was as good, friendly, and competent as we've had anywhere. She was particularly helpful when I asked her help in purchasing a coffee cup with their logo without making a trip to their shop at the front. Okay I just tried this place for the very first time because I saw Bob Sagets wife(Kelly Rizzo) post about this sandwich from here. The salad was very good. Delicious dressing and I love the croutons! The sandwich is also very amazing! The perfect flavor and amount of chicken salad. I only could eat half. Saving the rest for later. Food quality and preparation have really gone downhill in this once great breakfast restaurant which had a healthy twist. Todays visit will be my last, runny egg salad sandwich which nearly all squished out from the bread with first bite, literally brown wilted lettuce in the accompanying salad, bad quality Parmesan too loaded on top of the soup. Wife's eggs were too runny. We both felt bad to our stomach after leaving. I could go on. No one is paying attention to food quality or preparation here anymore. This location is located on Hale St. They have their own little parking lot, but there's also free street parking. We came here for an early Saturday breakfast before checking out the nearby French Market. The interior is nice and spacious, and their booth seating is ample for large groups. The menu selection is very good, and the kid's menu has a coloring page. They serve water in cute mason jars, and of course they're famous for their oddly shaped coffee mugs. We ordered a lobster scrambler, a drip coffee, and an egg on the side for the little one. The lobster scrambler was awesome. Plenty of flavor from the hollandaise sauce, and enough seafood in there. The English muffin was nicely buttered, and the lingonberry butter on the side was interesting. The drip coffee was nothing special, though, and my wife regretted getting a coffee here instead of from the French Market. Nice breakfast overall. We enjoyed it. read more

COVID-19 review....We visited on a Sunday morning around 8 and were warmly greeted. Then we were seated immediately in their new tented dining area. When we were being seated, they asked us for approval of our spot before we were sat down. There are no menus. There is a QR code you can scan for the menu, but it didn't work on my Android phone, so I went to the website and that worked fine. Our server came over right away to ask about our beverages and returned with a pot of coffee that went right on the table (yes!!!) and a carafe of soda for hubby. We had a minimal wait after we placed our order before we got it and it was hot and fresh and just like it was pre-virus. We got a paper check with a QR code that did work on my phone, so I scanned it and paid and we were on our way. Note that their tented dining area is their parking lot, so you might need to cruise around a bit more than normal to find a parking spot. Let me start out by saying the food here is excellent. My review is mostly in regards to two changes that occurred between my last two visits. For me these changes are something that set Egg Harbor apart from the competition. First, they changed their coffee. To me, this is a catastrophe. I believe they were serving Intelligentsia in the past and now serve Big Shoulders. Typically I am ok with Big Shoulders, but this blend (or perhaps the brewing method) tastes like typical stale diner coffee. The second change is that they got rid of grits from the menu. I realize this is probably not a popular option, but I enjoyed them. I noticed that the restaurant was not bustling like it normally has been during my past visits. Could others be thinking the same thing?? No grits and bad coffee, is it worth it? I'm not mad, just disappointed. read more

Both dishes were wonderful. One of my wife's poached eggs was over but minor. It was the one she couldn't finish. The atmosphere is homey. The Bloody Mary was a meal unto itself. On the way back from our bike camping trip, we stopped here for some breakfast and it was delicious! We each ordered a different dish and had a small bike from the chorizo omelet, potatoes, some other egg skillet specialty and it was all very tasty! The drinks are pretty huge too! My latte must have been 2 cups worth! The service was also noticeably great. Everyone is wearing masks and safe, yet being very attentive (without being TOO attentive). The verdict: Omelette: ordered an Aztec Omelette which has avocado, chorizo, pepper jack, fresh jalapeño, and cilantro. The omelette was indeed what an orthodox omelette should look like. A little spicy with the fresh jalapeño, which I loved because it meant it wasn't the soggy, canned jalapeños often used in other recipes. Overall, yummy choice. The chorizo paired well with the sour cream. Other breakfast places with "Egg" in their name have made for a slight disappointment, as my omelette-loving self found that their omelettes resemble more of an egg-scramble mushed into a football shape. Yet, Egg Harbor did not disappoint! Bacon: crispy enough that it snaps when you bite into it, but juicy enough that it melts in your mouth. Sides that always come with your main order but you never get to finish: my toasted English muffin was so oily it glistened under the lights. One of them was probably enough to clog an artery, so I passed. Taste was ok, but the oiliness kinda ruined it. OJ: I'm an orange juice purist. I grew up with an orange field behind my house, and I am sure citrus runs in my blood. Egg Harbors $3 a cup OJ is solid stuff. I wouldn't say it's fresh off the tree, but it's also not the mustard yellow Tropicana stuff. It's a solid cup, highly recommend. The place: always a go-to for locals. Trendy, great food, and a homey atmosphere that has you itching to buy one of their cute mugs by the time you leave. Service: everything was great about my visit except the service. I was so disappointed today that I considered not tipping at all. Usually breakfast places have excellent kind servers, so this really threw me for a loop. The table next to us, who arrived 15 min after us, was served first. We did not see our server for about 30min from the time we sat down and were served coffee. At the end we saw a glimpse of redemption, as our server offered to give us to-go cups for coffee! But we waited 20min and no cups. Walked by a couple of times with a why-are-you-still-here stink eye. We got up and just asked the ladies working the cashier instead. Overall I am very confused as to the poor service, which is why I am not rating this with 5 stars, but the food was a strong redemptive force in my visit. read more
