Absolutely horrendous experience…read more My husband and I were passing through Okeechobee and decided to stop for lunch and it ended up being a huge disappointment from start to finish. Before ordering, the waitress offered chips and salsa, which we happily accepted since it's something we always look forward to at Mexican restaurants. She asked if we wanted mild or hot so we chose one of each. She also mentioned the salsa would be served warm which we thought was unusual but did not question at the time. When it arrived the chips seemed like basic store bought rounds and instead of salsa, we were served what tasted exactly like hot enchilada sauce. Both bowls were the same spice level despite us requesting mild and hot. At first I thought it might be taco sauce but when my husband's enchiladas came out it confirmed that we had been served the same exact sauce as on his plate. I also ordered a burrito but what I received was more like an open faced soft taco since it was not wrapped at all and was very small. The refried beans were also completely bland and had no flavor. Overall, the food and experience were extremely disappointing. It felt like a very poor representation of Mexican cuisine and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Stay away.

Whether you choose to relax inside in the cool, comfortable dining room or enjoy the outdoor seating, it's a wonderful place to spend a meal. The food is absolutely delicious, with an excellent variety of choices that will satisfy just about anyone. And don't leave without checking out the desserts! Their Amish ice cream is fantastic, and the cupcakes are simply amazing. What really makes this place stand out is the staff. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and genuinely seems to enjoy making your visit a great experience. The restaurant is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and it's obvious they take pride in what they do. Great food, outstanding service, incredible desserts, and a welcoming atmosphere--Nutmeg's Café has become one of my favorite places in Sebring. It's definitely worth a visit. Five stars!

The adults chatted and dines overlooking the river while my kids have freedom to run around. Plentiful parking, not crowded in any way, and the fast casual nature of Pura Vida let us have our own mini feast on the outside area. The kids menu is not readily available- we had to ask for what the options were- but I think this is something they should be advertising, with one of the healthiest kids menus around. Most of us chose the same items we had last time, minus the lettuce ha, and once again we bought most of the pastries they had on hand. The pistachio match cookie is so good! The staff was so patient as we ordered in multiple waves due to no one being able to decide what to order at the same time, a child needing to re-order everything, etc. Thank you!

Great little place we found looking for a healthy lunch alternative in Jupiter!…read moreSo I had never been to a Pura Vida before, and didn't want a heavy lunch as the days are so hot lately: this small self-serve cafe just hit the right spot! Located just across the The Woods restaurant and the Wyndham Hotel in a small but lively mall with waterside access (you can drive or boat there!) they also had indoor seating which suited us just fine. The food was prepared as soon as we placed our order at the cash register, and brought to our table. Our lunch bowls looked as good as they tasted! We both had the chicken bowl and I have to say that the rice was absolutely delicious! I also liked that the chicken was not cold, but warm, as well as the sweet peppers: this added a delicious touch to my lunch. Then we had some dessert balls... they were so good that we went back for more and even took some home to share! They also have many healthy juices and some other delicious snacks as Croissants- that we will have to try next time. Enjoy!!

I always love it when a new restaurant opens in my Highlands County and this place debuted in…read moreNovember. It's a little off the beaten path for me and I'm a lazy ass so it took me until this weekend to get there! Arriving- It's in the clubhouse of the North Golf Course in the Highland's Ridge Community. Follow the signs for that clubhouse or let your GPS do the work. If you are familiar with the area, it was formally The Tavern. Ambience- So this is what a lot of folks would call a Country Club restaurant. As I had patronized the old tenants, I was curious how they were going to transform it into an Irish Pub. The answer is they didn't! It looks nothing like and Irish Pub. It's a large space with lots of natural light and traditional furniture. It has lots of outside seating that's covered with ceiling fans and many seats have a nice view! There is a very small bar that seats about six. In short, it looks like a Country Club restaurant. So much for pub ambience! Customer Service- Awesome, maybe seven stars! I had substantial interactions with the manager, bartender, and a server. All were exceptional. Adult Libations- Definitely not a pub style bar. It's a full bar with just a few taps but nothing special. Food- Like the ambience, it's an American menu with a couple of Irish dishes. There's Bangers & Mash and Shepard's Pie. Other than that, they throw in a couple of Irish terms to deceive you but it's really an American menu. There're enough choices to satisfy most folks. See their website. I ordered Irish Brisket Flatbread- Brisket, bacon, caramelized onions, diced tomatoes, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese @ $13. It was out in good time and plated very nicely. Plenty of food for the price so good value. The flatbread was nicely crisp. I love caramelized onions and that's the base here. Everything was very fresh. Plenty of brisket. Unfortunately, the onions overpowered the other ingredients, so the flavors were not balanced. It was tasty but needed a little work to be a winner. Conclusion- If you're looking for an Irish Pub, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for an American menu that has some potential with a great staff and beautiful outside seating, give it a try. As they are new and the staff is awesome combined with the outside seating, I'm going to be a little charitable and say four stars!
