Wow. Was driving down US 27 and stopped for a sandwich. Ended up with a steak sandwich fried plantains and some pulled pork with mojo sauce. It was all incredible. read more

I'm sure this is a terrific little place when it's open and since he's remodeling right now during Covid since he hast to be close down we will definitely come by again after Covid. The food was great although my sandwich was a little bit dry but they kept a busy pace through the pick up window. They were all wearing masks and gloves. It appears they have a dedicated clientele. I ordered the western omelette sandwich, something that I've never tried before anywhere. The café leche was outstanding although since I'm caffeine intolerant all I could do was take a couple sips of my husband's. So next time we come here we will order ahead of time because that seems to be the norm for everybody who came to the window. I noticed that Julio also does taxes. Stop in to grab some breakfast while on the way to Fort Myers got a Cuban toast that was half a loaf of bread pretty much it was really good also tried so pork that very juicy and soft with a cafe con leach that was made perfect the service was good and order came out in minutes definitely a must try if your in the Cuban breakfast or lunch. read more

Stopped by here on my way to Tampa from Miami. Honestly, I had no idea what I was walking into. It's a small restaurant, they have a nice little bar area if you're in a rush. When I went it was around 8AM, there wasn't many people there and there was only 1 waitress. She was kind of busy, so we sat ourselves and ordered from the bar (eventually more waitresses came in and started their shift), she instantly rang in our order. They brought the toast & café con leche first, and in less than 5 minutes we had our breakfast. It was DELICIOUS! It felt like we were still in Miami. I was so happy and satisfied after cleaning that entire plate. OH and did I mention the prices???? Amazing. So full and it was only $5! read more

The half chicken meal is good, breakfast is ok, the yuca is awesome, but it will be nice that they have more often, every time I go I ask for yuca they don't have most of the time. read more

My all-time favorite Cuban restaurant. It is 100% authentic. Not one bad word to say about this place. I don't know about the bad reviews listed below but every time I come in here always get extremely good service. My advice is to get the Cuban sandwich. I asked the woman behind the counter what meals are vegetarian. She said no. I looked at the menu, and saw egg sandwiches. I asked her if they could just make an egg sandwich with no meat. She said they only have lettuce and tomato. I was kind of surprised, because usually an eatery will make simple adjustments to make something vegetarian - usually leaving out the meat in a sandwich saves them money, but she just didn't want to bother. read more

I guess I just expect more from a Cuban restaurant. The quality of the food is just too inconsistent for me to rate it any higher. Every time that I've ordered a classic Cuban sandwich, the middle is cold and the cheese isn't even properly melted. However, I have had really good items like the fried pork chunks and the pastelitos on the counter with a nice cuban coffee. That being said, the cleanliness of the restaurant is a damn shame. I don't know how this place passes a health department screening. The tables and chairs are grimey. Even the menus are sticky from age and use. Service however, is usually just fine. The employees have been there for a while it seems, and they handle the steady flow of diners very well. I'd love to update if Julio's ever improves on the above, but with so few other businesses to compete with in Clewiston, I'm afraid my rating will remain so for a long time to come. read more

Stopped here since i like to support local businesses being from out of town. the food was great but what a disappointment when i went to pay for my meal at the counter. The lady was preparing sandwiches without wearing gloves, grabbed some money that was sitting in the counter and put it somewhere under the counter, paid for my meal which i paid cash then she picked up some coins from the ground and put it somewhere under the counter and finally she proceeded to finish the sandwiches she was preparing. i will not come back here. Incredibly delicious Traditional Cuban food. A very hectic atmosphere but generous portions and food is delivered quickly despite only one person waiting tables. Staff are too frenetic to be friendly but the food makes up for any shortcomings. I haven't had Cuban food this delicious since leaving Miami 40 years ago! read more

Hole in the wall with sub par Cuban food - albeit very cheap. 1. FILTHY - not dirty - filthy. I fear for my toilet in an hour and swear that if the health dept came it would be shut down. We were only here bc it was on our way back to Miami and we had a hungry cranky kid. 2. UNDERSTAFF - 3 customers were bussing their own tables. Thank GOD I had Clorox wipes. I will commend the poor waitress/busboy/bread grilled for managing 9 or so tables on her own. 3. SAD FOOD - yes the sandwiches are HUGE, the bread good, the grilled meats were ok, but my Cubano I ate 4 bites - just a dead stop. The yuca cooked right but then doused in I believe Costco steak seasoning and garlic salt. The charring on everything is suspect... Beyond carcinogenic to probably just dirty. Do not order the pastry. Do yourself and your toilet a favor; skip this. And pray for us that the 5 bites of food we each ate doesn't send us to the hospital. We should have left. I can't visit Clewiston without making a trip to Cafe Tropical! Their food is reasonably priced and delicious. The Cuban sandwiches are yummy and authentic. The fries are mediocre, so I usually skip those. Definitely worth the stop. You won't regret it! read more

Killer breakfast stop. Huge breakfast for 7 bucks excellent service. My family ordered most everything on menu. All was excellent. I got steak and eggs 2 eggs over medium with 3 strips of bacon couple of thin ribeye slices( no not steakums) covered in super delicious Cuban marinade grits and loaf of heavenly butter smothered Cuban bread from a panini press mmmmmm comes with cup Cuban style milk coffee 6 bucks at Starbucks. We found this place 10+ yes ago while traveling down hwy 27 on our trips to The Keys. We stop no matter what meal time it is. If you are in a hurry call ahead to order Cuban sandwiches. The pork special is the best I have found outside my kitchen :). Ask for a cafe con leche...for the road. Defiantly worth the stop. read more

Bad service the food was ok but not the best tables were dirty waitress didn't seem to care had to clean off table just to be able to have a table available and you still get ignored. While waiting waitress seemed to be rude to other customer who previously called in order that was not even placed in to kitchen to be ready to be picked up when customer gets there. Driving home from Clewiston tonight after having dinner at this place. I ate there years ago on a previous visit and was really glad they are still in business and they are still just as good if not better than I remember. I ordered the pork with rice beans bread salad and plantains and my SO ordered the Cuban with fries ....2 beers and empanada appetizer. We shared everything as it is so difficult to choose as it is all so tasty..... plus 2 cafe con leche to go....less than $20. I love this place. It is the real deal! Great food great service. Awesome grilled Cuban sandwich and the BEST Cuban coffee con leche. We also had the pulled pork dinner and the 1/2 chicken dinner. Both meals come with beans and rice, yummy plantains, and Cuban toast. All was delicious! Fed 6 of us for $20, the meals feed more than 2 people each! They don't seem to have much patience for English speaking customers and it's a true hole in the wall, but you go for the food not atmosphere. read more

Good food just don't expect to get your food before waiting a minimum of 30 minutes. I've only ever seen one person behind the counter and serving customers in the dining area. So that one person is constantly doing something because she's also the one toasting the bread and running the cash register and answering the phones. I've only been in there a couple of times. I only go there when I know I don't mind waiting 30 mins Plus for food. But I like the food and the prices are good for the amount of food you get. read more
