A solid place for breakfast in Glendora. I love the aviation theme that the place has, inside you'll see pictures of the Ontario airport from back in the day and memorabilia of old WWII airplanes and old school general aviation aircraft. I've been here twice, and it is my favorite place for breakfast in the area. The food is pretty good and relatively priced. I had the BLT with the cole slaw, and the cole slaw tasted like vinegar and was bitter. My wife had the club sandwich, and couldn't finish it. So I asked for an extra plate and was told they would have to charge me for it. I really thought the waitress kidding. I even asked a second waitress, thinking maybe she was mistaken. We will not be back on principle alone. If not for the friendly waitresses & service, I would have given them 1 star. We will not be back on principle alone. I cannot review the food because we didn't get to sit down and try it. First of all, we were completely ignored as soon as we walked through the door. The inside was full so I didn't think much of it. But when the employees started passing us by and looking at us several times without saying a word, I began to feel like we were perhaps unwelcome. After a few minutes new customers coming in were offered the outside area getting seated before us! I tried getting the employee's attention but they kept just passing by. All the meanwhile the servers were making chitchat and being completely friendly to the customers seated at the bar. Finally I stepped a bit in the way of one waitress, the only older one, to say excuse me and she looked pass me and began to speak to somebody behind me, then continued to walk faster as she got closer to me, and completely passed me by. This was beyond bad customer service. I can say with certainty that (at the very least from this one older employee) this was also racism. Now even if I am somehow wrong about the reason we were ignored, this place really needs to demand better customer service from its employees at the very least. read more

Great Food, Ok Service Going to small diners like this is risky business for me as a vegetarian, there is always usually one or two solid menu items to choose from. Like every other diner, they had a veggie burger on the menu, so I decided to order it. I'm typically very picky with my veggie burgers, it's always either a hit or miss with me. They were courteous enough to put the mayo on the side-in case i was vegan, which was nice. While nervous to try the food, I dove right in. Now, I have eaten at many different places in my day, and I've tried many different french fries, and let me tell you-these are the best fries I've ever had in my life. The veggie burger was delicious, the patty was perfectly cooked and the food came out fast. The only downside of eating here was our waitress. While sweet, she only talked to us while taking our order, while we watched her talk to all the other customers in the area and constantly checked up on them. There were a few times where we wanted to ask for something, and she was nowhere to be found. When she would pass by, she would look at us but wouldn't check on how we were doing. Despite this, I would come again for the food alone. The fries honestly sold it for me, and the rest of the food was solid! read more

The long wait at Flappy Jack's forced me to look for a spot nearby. This place is a much smaller than Flappy Jack's, and looks like a mom and pop diner. Parking is on the street or at the parking lot behind the diner. Inside there are booths and a bar for those eating by themselves or with someone else. The menu is simple and to the point. I decided to get the Denver Omelette with home fries and toast. The portion sizes were pretty big and I barely finished the plate. The Omelette was your standard affair. Nothing really stood out to me as it tasted as any other omelette. The home fries are steak cut, but nothing out of the ordinary. The toast was pretty good, but I did not like how the butter was already applied to the toast. Overall, I felt that the food here was average. The service here is adequate. The food was served in a timely fashion. The one gripe with the service is that the gave us the check before we finished eating, which is a no-no in my book. Overall, I would give this place 3.5 stars but since the check was given in a untimely fashion I have to dock it a half star. read more

AWESOME!! We came here for a birthday breakfast for my brother and it was perfect because he is actually a pilot! The place is decorated by a pilot for sure! Menu size is perfect, unlike Flappy Jacks which has a million items its takes you forever to order! Here they have an awesome selection and even better prices!! The service was top notch as well. Nothing fancy just good, down to earth food and service. I got the veggie omelette with avocado and a side of hollandaise. The fruit they were serving I couldn't really have so I got potatoes and gave them to my hubby. I also got the biscuit and gravy to give away, but I did take a bite and O.M.G. homemade gravy? can it be? Not overly salty so I am thinking homemade. First off, it's a little tricky to find this place! It's really narrow, so it's completely hidden by a tree. We were driving back and forth and could not find it! We were considering going somewhere else, but we finally found it & im glad we did! It's a really cute old fashioned diner type place. The theme is airplanes I think. There's a couple booths and about 8 diner seats. I went on a Wednesday morning & it was full of people! I didn't expect that. Our waiter was really nice and he liked to joke around a lot which I thought was cool - it made everything feel more personal & welcoming. The food was good too! The omelette was HUGE & the side of house potatoes was really yummy. Also their ranch is really good. A fun fact is that Ed is the cook! Our waiter told us that he cooks all the food and doesn't let anyone else back there too cook. So funny & really cool that the owner is also the cook. I think we just ordered the wrong items for breakfast. Got the 'special of the day' Cinnamon Roll French Toast.. it was OK. but just came with 2 pieces of french toast. No sides, nothing with it. Not much of a meal if you are hungry. My other half had the Huevos Rancheros. I have to say that was the smallest plate of Huevos Rancheros that I have ever seen!! I guess it didn't help to swamp out the beans and rice for fruit because the fruit was only 3 tiny pieces and made the whole plate look like a kiddie meal. We both left hungry with $24 less money! Some friends and I decided to eat here after hiking the Garcia Trail, as Flappy Jacks had a long wait and we were extremely hungry. The place is a bit hidden and can easily be missed. It is very small and has that old diner feel to it - small records are used as decor. As you enter, they have the sign "please wait to be seated." We waited patiently for a few minutes before we actually got greeted. The wait resulted being about 10 minutes. The place is very small and given that it was a Sunday morning, all the booths were filled. They have seating outside, but it was too cold and windy for us. They only have one restroom and it's very tiny - not the cleanest either. Our server was very nice and kept calling us "sweetie." This type of service is needed in the front. Prices were reasonable for the most part. However, if you wish to substitute eggs for egg whites, they will charge you an extra $2.50. Also, my steak and eggs were $14.95 versus the $12.95 listed on the menu. The waitress notified me of the change as I was closing my order, but I wish they would actually change it on the menu. The steak was ok, it was too fatty for my taste and lacked flavor. Whole wheat toast was really good - beware they will add margarine to it. The coffee wasn't the greatest; I usually drink it black but this one needed sugar to taste good. The fresh fruit was probably the best part of my plate; however, my friends ordered a club sandwich and country fried chicken and they enjoyed their food. It is a little hole in the wall, quiet and intimate, which I love. Service was quick, and friendly. Refills on coffee on point without asking. Portions of food were satisfying and delicious! I had bacon, avocado cheese omlete, husband had ribeye and eggs. My hash browns were perfectly crisp on outside and not at all greasy. Husband had obrien potatoes that were giant pieces of potato with crisp veggies. Can't wait to go back to try their griddle items! Ed's place is such a cute little dinner tucked into downtown Glendora. You could blink and miss it! They are strictly a morning/lunch place but they serve breakfast all day! They have about 8 booths to sit in and the atmosphere feels like you have been taken back 20-30 years. The old wooden panels on the wall, old airplanes and photos. This place is so adorable! They also have options to sit along the bar or sit out side. Despite the limited seating I have only had to wait 10-15 min at most to ever be seated even on a Saturday or Sunday during prime brunch hours. If I could I would give them 3.5 stars. The Hollandaise sauce was very lemony. The eggs were poached perfectly. Her omelet was ok. I like sour cream and salsa on my omelets and she like hers dry. The biscuits and gravy came out and the gravy was brown. Kind of threw us off since we have only ever had it white before. They were pretty good. Not the best. But also not the worst.
