Great service at good price. We love their work. On time and as promised delivery and installation. Fantastic people to work with.

Ed's Chimney is a great organization and they stand behind their work! We used them to take out a long chimney tube and replace with a cap, since it was leaking. They did great work and it was priced right. We would use them again! read more

Scheduled via email to have them come out for a quote for repointing our chimney. We exchanged several emails establishing the plan -- they would come out while we were at work and then email us the quote the next. That day came and went, as did about 3-4 more days -- no email from them with the quote. Emailed them back again to ask if they could send us the quote, or did they need to reschedule because they hadn't made it out, or what? No response at all this time. Totally ghosted us. Cool. Thanks, Ed's, for making a stressful home repair task even more stressful. read more

They would not respond to schedule an appointment. I tried many times - they are just not interested.

Bought a house this year and had Oscar out to inspect/clean the chimney. I wasn't sure what to expect, but Oscar rocks. Like other reviewers, I had to schedule the appointment out 6 weeks or so, but they had a couple cancellations and were able to get me in about 3 weeks earlier than scheduled. Great customer service. Very personable and helpful. I'd recommend Ed's without hesitation. read more

We have an older house with a chimney no one had touched in forty years. Ed's Chimney came out and had a look, let us know what all had to get done, what all should get done, and what all didn't need to get done and why... for a super reasonable price. Then they did it, prepping the area and cleaning up afterword so there was no mess for us to deal with. It's like having a new chimney!! read more

Such a great job! I had to make an appointment 6 weeks in advance because of the season. I always hesitate with that because I am never really sure if the company will remember the appointment or have to change things last minute. Not only were they on time they were actually ahead of time, quick and courteous. The technician answered all of our questions and did a wonderful job. This is definitely the company we will be coming back to for chimney services. read more

Honesty, I am surprised I picked these guys since they don't have a website, just a Yelp page and Facebook page. Glad I took the chance because these guys are great. The reason why I like this company is because they were completely honest with us. Our fireplace was backpuffing something fierce....so Oscar came out and did an inspection. He explained that given the width of our fireplace, the height of the chimney, and the fact that our house was on the side of a hill, there was a chance that our chimney was always going to backpuff. But he said a cleaning was worth a shot, since it looked like it hadnt been cleaned for 10 years. He left that first day with instructions to try a couple fires, and to give him a call if it didnt work. After a few fires, it was clear that the cleaning hadn't fixed the problem. We called them up again and he recommended a smoke guard and flue extender, reminding us once again that it might not fix the problem. But we trusted them enough to try their recommendation again. This did the trick! We are able to use our fireplace now with no problems. Thanks Oscar for your hard work and being honest with us. read more

Great service, nice guys to work with. Best to contact and communicate with them via email. Service was good and at a reasonable price. Will use them again. read more

We've been using Ed's for a few years and I've never had any problems until recently. They were supposed to come out a couple weeks ago. Needless to say, the guy has car trouble on the way to our house - can we reschedule? OK, fair enough. My appt was rescheduled for this past Saturday. I received a call on Wednesday asking if I could move my appointment to Friday. Ok. No problem. Friday comes and goes. THEY WERE A NO SHOW. I left 2 messages Friday afternoon and have not heard a peep back. I'm bummed that I have to find a new chimney place. Ed's has always been reliable in the past but not showing up after 2 rescheduled appointments and no call from them is just wrong. UPDATE: Oscar came by and cleaned our chimney FOC. Thanks so much. Excellent customer service. read more

Why can't all contractors be like Oscar (Ed's son)? I own an old, high maintenance house and called Ed's for a second estimate to repair a leaky chimney. Oscar came out as promised and spent much time evaluating the damage. He described the necessary work in detail and showed me photos that he'd taken up on the roof to illustrate the problem. He educated me about masonry and chimney construction and provided a diagnosis and fix that seemed so much more substantive and detailed than the first bidder, who is reputable but just gave it a quick glance and told me I needed new flashing (which would not have resolved the problem as the mortar needed replacing, as well). I ended up hiring Oscar to repair both my chimneys and remortar some areas of the house's stone exterior. Oscar started the work on schedule and kept me apprised of all work and schedule adjustments. The repair was done professionally and with much attention to detail. He was mindful of our privacy, safety and desire to protect our garden, too. I plan to have Oscar back to restore our outdoor fireplace and re-do some masonry work done by another well-meaning but less experienced contractor. High praise! read more

Update: 5/8/15 - The company called me the following Monday. Apparently the original person forgot to put my appointment in the books and the phones close at noon on Friday. They apologized profusely for their mistake and offered to give me 50% off the service. I went ahead and agreed. Although the person coming was a bit late, he did call me in advance to inform me of the situation. He also did a great job not only cleaning the chimney but offered up to fix a few things he saw could have been improved, like the flute pull. That's very GREAT business!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Incredibly disappointed. I made an appointment with Ed's service for a C&I (chimney sweep and inspection). The service was going to occur on a Friday and I took the afternoon off. They were scheduled to arrive at 1:30pm on a Friday. I left a voice mail with my phone number at 1:45 pm and 2:30 pm to see what was happening. They never showed up. It is now Saturday and I still have not heard back from them. No apologies, no excuses... That's very BAD business and completely unacceptable. Called a handful of local chimney repair guys as the top of ours was starting to crumble and needed a new cap. Ed's was the fastest to come out, bid and offer a date quickly for when the repairs could be complete. Of course doing my due diligence I waited for a few more bids, but at the end, Ed's was the most fairly priced and most detailed work order. Bill and his crew came out, dealt with our obnoxious labrador (who we love dearly), and quickly did a fantastic job getting things back looking good. Chimney is in great shape now thanks to these guys. I would highly recommend them. read more

I have not gone forward with the service, just received an estimate. They had strong customer service and very informative. I have yet to go forward with the project, but they are definitely a strong consideration. read more

Oscar showed up 10 minutes early and got to work looking at our chimney to see if a sweeping was necessary and to provide an estimate for that service. He ended up doing basically a full inspection at no charge and educated me on many things about my stove and chimney, while providing a very reasonable quote to perform those services. He was straightforward and actually told us we didn't need our chimney cleaned at all, but there were a couple of other issues we needed to take care of before starting a fire in our stove. I decided to do the work myself as I am an avid DIYer but his opinion and recommendations were very informative. I will definitely be turning to Oscar for any stove or chimney work that I am not able to tackle myself. read more

On-time, quick, easy to schedule, no-nonsense, knows his business, reasonable fees. Easy-peasy! The others I called were booked out about 4 months in advance with a bunch of 'seasonal repairs'; i was able to get Ed the day I wanted, about 2 days after I called. Note - current message says they only accept phone calls for scheduling from 9-12am. read more

Oscar showed up early for our chimney sweep, explained in detail all the work that he was doing, as well as inspected the outside of my chimney and gave me very helpful maintenance information. Even better, he came back later the same day because he wanted to trim a branch that was hanging above my chimney-at no extra charge. Great company and Oscar does a great job! read more

I called Ed's Chimney to get my chimney cleaned and inspected. We had not had it done since buying our house nearly 3 years ago, and I had noticed significant creosote buildup. I really wanted to make sure that it was ready for cozy fires in the winter. I am so glad that I chose Ed's Chimney. 1. They responded very quickly to my request for an appointment. 2. Steve was quick and efficient in his inspection and cleaning. 3. My front door bangs when you close it, and Steve tightened the hinge while he was there, which was pretty much the best customer service I could have expected. My fireplace is ready to burn, and my front door doesn't drag and bang. I am VERY happy with their service, and will call them again next year when I am getting the house ready for winter. read more

Ed was very nice to meet. He arrived on time and got right to work. The cleaning and inspection took just under an hour. He offered some advice and recommendations. And also answered all the questions patiently and let me know exactly what I needed to do to help keep my house safe. The work was clean and you can't tell he even there (minus the clean chimney). Thank you Ed! We will be calling you back when we need you! read more

So glad we went with this company. From the initial phone call I felt no pressure. Scheduled my appointment and got a date shortly after. I mentioned I needed a sweep and when he inspected my chimney, he said no need for a sweep. He said everything is in excellent condition. I'm so glad for the honesty of Ed's Chimney. I will most definitely use them for future and reccomend them to friends. Thank you! read more

Four stars. A solid "good" rating. They were very pleasant and turned down our project for being two floors up-- seems a little bit odd for people who choose to work on chimneys, but I give them an "A" for honesty. And they did suggest some other firms. Seem like good people to work with. read more

Lacks professional courtesy. See below the message i got when I asked if the price was negotiable. "I'm sorry, we don't change are prices if it's really dirty, or really clean, or across the street or 10miles away. Our availability is first week in Nov." A simple "Sorry, price is not negotiable." would have sufficed. read more

Had them come out to look at our chimney/fireplace, which we'd never used -- just wanted to make sure everything looked to be in good repair and didn't need cleaning before we started using it. They came out when they said they would, were professional and friendly, took a look, and gave us the all-clear. Since it was just an estimate, they didn't even charge anything for coming out. I really appreciated that, and when we do need any chimney service in the future, I will be calling them again. read more

Thank you for coming out and inspecting my 2 fireplaces and chimneys, I am happy with communication, professionalism & price, will use again!! read more

Made an appointment for chimney sweep. Very responsive via email. Upon arrival he wore a mask, very considerate with covering shoes & social distancing. Checked our 2nd fireplace & said it really didn't need cleaning. Appreciate that he saved us money! Explained a few important things to look for & how things worked. Definitely a smart guy who knows his stuff. Great experience overall! read more

Ed is one of the most honest people I've met in home maintenance business. He's very straightforward, reliable, and charming. My chimney needed rebuilt last year, and it's still looking great! I called him back because I was so impressed with his service, and he let me know it still looked clean and didn't need cleaning again until next year. He very easily could have charged me full price and did not. Thank you for everything and see you next year! read more

Great service and fair with pricing. Family owned and clean work done. Though they were booked out it was worth the wait to deal with someone you can trust. read more

I called on Ed's for the first time to get an estimate when we could not stop the cold breeze coming through our chimney. Oscar arrived on time for the appointment, showed me how the damper chain was not pulled all the way and where it needed to be for the damper to close. He said the chimney did not really need cleaning yet. He provided some great info I needed re our fireplace and chimney - and did not charge us for solving the wind problem since he was just called to give an estimate. He was incredibly fair and honest, as well as courteous. I will absolutely call Ed's the next time we need any service. read more

This is the second year that I've had Ed and his family clean out my chimney and wood stove in preparation for heating season, and I'm well pleased with their work. It never takes more than an hour, the prices are set ahead of time, the invoice is a nice diagram and checklist, and the service is friendly. This year they even take card on the spot, rather than calling it in! Looking forward to working with them next year! read more

Wow! What a great crew! They showed up on time, with smiles on their faces and a pleasure to do business with. I think they gave us an honest evaluation of our chimney, cleaned it all up for us and we are ready to have a fire in our fireplace. Thanks for the great service! read more

Came out within a reasonable time, explained our options to us honestly, provided a temporary solution free of charge! Decent folks.

This team went out of their way to educate and provide options for my house. They were unable to service it directly, but they took uncompensated time to help me figure out a game plan. I am super grateful. read more

We had them come clean our chimney and it was easy to schedule an appt. He was very tidy, and friendly to boot. I would use them again.

As a former general contractor and current real estate broker, I have the opportunity to work with a lot of different contractors in every imaginable trade. Without question, Ed's is my go to for chimney and masonry work. In the office, Mike is efficient with scheduling and always courteous. When there are delays (like weather or other unforeseeable events), they always call to let you know and confer with you about what the new plan will be. On site, Oscar and the other guys are thorough, tidy (or as tidy as possible- it's messy work!), and do an excellent job. On top of all of that, they are affordable. They aren't always the cheapest, but they are always the best value for the money. I've used them on my own house, have recommended them to dozens of my own happy clients, and highly recommend them to you! read more

I met with Oscar today to see what could be done about a broken damper for our chimney. Oscar was completely honest in his evaluation that to fix the broken damper, it would cost a lot of money and the return in terms would not be worth the investment. Oscar was so honest and was thinking of all the solutions that were reasonable based on his experience. I unfortunately wasted Oscar's time as there were no reasonable solutions to my problem. Oscar was not upset about this. Talk about an honest professional! Writing this review is the least I can do for Oscar's great courtesy! read more

Good honest work with great price. They came and clean chimney and replaced chimney cap. Ed didn't try to charge any thing extra. I will ask them to clean my chimney next year read more

I had gotten my potbelly stove up and running earlier that morning but since I had not used the fireplaces in my house since we moved in Ed talked me into having them come out and check it out. The employee showed up early, wore booties on his shoes while in the house, checked the roof where my chimney is cleaned out a few cobwebs and ensured my potbelly stove was properly connected. I am so grateful for their assistance. I highly recommend them! read more

After we got through a couple scheduling conflicts, which they communicated right away with us, we had Steve come out for a cleaning and inspection. He was quick, friendly and thorough. They will be our first call if we have chimney issues! read more

We called the two local chimney services listed here on yelp to get quotes. The first service was great, but the fellow hurt his back and couldn't do our job. Ed's secretary and I played phone tag for a week or so. When we finally caught up with each other she was very efficient. Ed and his employee (he was never introduced to us) came over, took one look at our chimney, knew exactly what we needed and quoted us a reasonable price. I signed the paperwork and he said he'd be back in about a week when the part came in. Today he and his employee showed up. The employee installed our shiny new stainless steel chimney cap and we're all set for the ridiculous winter Steve Pool and Jeff Renner say we're all headed for. It couldn't have been easier. It could only have been more pleasant if it were free or came with a free pedicure. I will be recommending Ed's Chimney Service and Repairs to all of my friends, family, and the whole damn internets. read more
