My husband and I were planning a bedroom remodel, which included taking out a wood burning fireplace and installing a gas insert. After looking through many reviews online, we decided to go check out Max Heat showroom (Crown Hill area). Max was great. Knowledgeable and patient. He answered all the questions we had and helped guide us in the right direction! He supplied us with a few brochures, and we went on our way. He sent us a few quotes based on the inserts we were looking at in the shop. We landed on the Solas 48. Since we were taking care of the build out ourselves, I had a lot of questions on how to do so correctly. Max was so helpful in helping us with the schematics and how to build the platform for the insert to sit on. We had to build it perfectly so the fireplace window was centered in the facade. We paid a 50% deposit for the insert, and it was ordered. He kept us in the loop on order status, and was able to schedule the install once he had a firm delivery date. The day Max and his wife came out to do the install, it was one of the hottest days of the summer (go figure!) I had the AC cranked up for them so they were comfortable during the install! They did a wonderful job! Very efficient, friendly and professional! They showed me how to work the controls and recommend I run the fireplace for 3 hours to do the burn off. (This didn't happen until fall!) We love our fireplace! It turned out beautifully! (We outsourced slabs of porcelain for the surround.) We highly recommend Max Heat for any fireplace needs! Max totally crushed it. I'd been wanting a gas fireplace for a couple years and have had a couple of quotes over the years. I found Max via a yelp search and glad I contacted him. He got back to me right away, which I believe was over a weekend. I'm not a proponent of people working weekends or evenings but sole proprietors who do so impress upon me commitment to their business and a high level of customer service. Max came out for the estimate and gave me some good options of product to consider and he was very knowledgeable about the install, procedure and products themselves. The install was schedule and went flawlessly. Perhaps the thing that impressed me most was a particular issue native to my fireplace. It's irregular masonry and the opening was not a perfect rectangle with straight lines. Max did a "jigsaw" style cut in the metal work so it fit perfectly into my fireplace's masonry. check out the photos. Additionally, his quote was about $500 cheaper that my next cheapist quote. I had also demo'd part of my chimney and had the masonry sitting in my driveway. Max volunteered to haul it away for me. I've been using the fireplace for 2 days now and love it. It puts out a lot of heat and is totally adjustable. I've been able to lower my thermostat and use the fireplace as a primary heating source which i expect will save on my gas bill. 5 stars for Max! read more

We sent him a photo and some info as to what we're looking for and he quoted a couple options, one of which was exactly what we were looking for. He needed to order parts and do a custom faceplate, so we waited about a month after the initial visit for installation, which was far faster than we were expecting. The install was done in a morning in just a few hours. The new gas insert is exactly what we were hoping for, and is a huge improvement over the one that was replaced. He talked with us and gave us an estimate without coming into the house, which is huge given the COVID circumstances. But the best thing was we actually have a town house without a lot of space and most inserts will have a significant amount of depth 14 to 18 inches, which we did not have room for in our living room.
