We had the following done: demo of the top portion (removed ~1600 lbs. of bricks as we plan to install a gas fireplace insert that didn't need the height), tuck-pointing, rebuild crown and added flue tiles and an acid wash. Andrew and his team did a great job fixing our brick chimney. We were concerned that it needed to be torn down or completely rebuilt, which probably would have been outside of our budget. But Andrew took the time to explain how our chimney was constructed, and what our repair options were based on how we wanted to use it. It was not in danger of falling, nor was it off center but the mortar was old and there was visible spacing between bricks... enough to concern us. Communicating with Brick by Brick was easy. Unfortunately, we decided to get our chimney worked on during the winter which is when people notice leaks so booking Brick by Brick was tough. Glad we waited though because his (Andrew) crew were professional, timely and kept the outside of the house (relatively) clean. While they were up on the roof, they noticed our furnace chimney needed a partial rebuild. They performed the work in sub zero weather for a very fair price. We decided to redo our fireplace this winter and ripped the old one apart before realizing how busy every mason in the city was. Most masons were booked out for 4 months or so, some wouldn't even talk to me saying they just weren't accepting new customers. Not Andrew from Brick by Brick.
