It was a big project and I had written a glowing review. Within few months the pavers started separating. I showed it to Walter who promised to fix. After few months of waiting he tried to sell servicing and maintenance instead of fixing. When reminded of his obligation to fix what was clearly not done right, he said that he will fix if he gets work on eastside. Agin waited few more months while the gap kept becoming bigger. Now he has stopped responding. read more

Seattle Eastside Pavers installed pavers in our backyard in September 2023. We paid extra to have sealant put in between to pavers to make sure that we don't have weeds growing there. This was primarily the reason why we paid to have the pavers done. 1 year in and there are weeds already growing in between the tiles. There are visible gaps in between the tiles where the sealant should have been applied. It looks like the sealant work was not done well (check pictures). There are a couple of loose tiles as well, near the entrance of the backyard, which just points to shoddy work. Communication has also been pretty poor. I don't hear back about any questions or messages that I send until I email back again asking for an update. Here's my recent email chain about this issue. ================= Walter Angel Alfaro Wed, Sep 18, 12:26PM I'LL TRY TO STOP BY ONE OF THESE DAYS Jeffrey Johnson Wed, Sep 18, 12:28PM to Walter Thanks. Jeffrey Johnson Sep 28, 2024, 11:42AM to Walter Are you going to be able to make it this week? Walter Angel Alfaro Sep 28, 2024, 11:44AM to me yes I will be there today after 4pm Jeffrey Johnson Oct 15, 2024, 10:32AM to Walter what did the provider say about the weeds growing inside the sealant? when can you come fix the gaps in the sealant and the lose tile near the entrance? Walter Angel Alfaro Oct 15, 2024, 10:50AM to me I already spoke with them and I'm waiting for a response ================== This issue is still unresolved as of today Oct 31 and I have not received any update since the last email pasted above on Oct 15. Update 1: The rant about Nature is a bit puzzling. The yard was swept once a week as recommended, so pointing to that as the issue is a cop out for the poor quality work done on the sealant. Did nature create gaps in the tiles where the sealant should be? Is nature the reason for the poor communication? As a business you select what providers and materials you will work with. Its not the responsibility of the customer to get in contact with the suppliers you are using for doing the work you are paid for. read more

The team from Seattle Eastside Pavers did a fantastic job in installing our backyard paver slab and fire pit. They were communicative from the get-go, answered all our questions, adapted to our needs, and were able to supply us with a product that ended up being exactly what we had in mind. For such an excellent and thorough job, they were reasonably priced, and cleaned up the job site when they were finished, leaving it in the condition in which they found it. We highly recommend this group of workers, and couldn't be happier with the finished product. Kudos to Walter and his crew! Thanks, Craig & Tawnie D (Bothell, WA) read more

Walter and his crew installed this excellent patio in my backyard in June 2022. Once they got started, they got it done very quickly, about one week. It is a huge improvement over the old deck that we used to have. Walter was great about communicating all of the costs in advance and giving us several options for each decision. The pricing was fair, and the quality of work is very good. I observed a lot of the work myself as it was happening, and it was clear that they were being very meticulous about making sure to do the job right. read more

Great job, great man, great price - what else can one ask for. Walter and his sons did a tremendous job in paving our driveway, removing our planters, and replacing our lawns. His price was one of the fairest among the other quotes we got. The best thing about Walter is his flexibility. He's always a phone call away and will readily come down to the house if you have any questions about the work. Walter does not produce a design plan unlike most paving companies, but that worked fine with us because he was very thorough in his job and is flexible and open to our demands. After seeing him do a great job with our driveway and sidewalk, we requested him to replace our lawn with sod installation. Overall immensely satisfied and I'd definitely go back to Walter for future jobs. read more

Walter and his team did a fine job to replace a cracked concrete patio. The price was fair, especially compare to crazy concrete patio price. Some contractors gave much more higher price on concrete than Walter's paver price. I had very good communication with Walter. Walter and his team are always on time. They focused on my patio without doing other tasks at the same time. They finished it within promised time with great result. Highly recommended. read more

We hired Seattle Eastside Pavers to install a patio under a new deck that went up right a few weeks prior. Their price was reasonable, but we chose this company because the owner was knowledgeable in a way that helped us get a better end result. I appreciated the suggestion to curve the patio to include another feature - it was something I hadn't thought of doing. They worked fast and work is excellent. I would hire them again in there future. read more

This is one of the easiest recommendations I've ever made, and we will be contacting Seattle Eastside Pavers again when we next have a paving project. We are so pleased with the work that was done. The patio, pathway, ramp, and steps all look gorgeous, and I still can't believe the project is already completed. When we first started researching contractors, my wife and I were prepared to wait several months on a waitlist for an opening in someone's schedule. Based on how long our neighbors' patios had taken, we also expected the work to take weeks (if not months.) Instead, the project started within a few days of our signing the estimate, and it was completed a little over a week later. Walter was also very understanding of how we wanted to approach the project. We had an old brick patio that we loved, but it was very uneven and needed to be dug up to make room for the new patio. We also had many existing pavers that had been dug up several years prior to make room for a home addition, and we had hoped to be environmentally conscious by re-using most of them for the new project. Walter and his team carefully dug up all the old brick and managed to salvage enough useable pieces to make a lovely design in the middle of the patio, and they were able to use all the old pavers, as well! We did end up a little over budget, but the price had been very competitive, to begin with. One contributing factor was that we ran out of the old pavers towards the end of the project, but Walter had already done his research and had found coordinating pavers that worked well with our design. We also had a few (much-appreciated) additions to the project that Walter suggested, but he made sure to communicate with us well in advance when something might alter the price of the initial estimate. We can't imagine a faster, smoother, or friendlier service than we received from Seattle Eastside Pavers, and we've been telling all our friends about them. read more

We had them do a very small section of our patio and they left it unsealed. I called them back and the owner promised to come on the next "sunny day" and never did. Then Covid happened and now that things are better we'd like the work finished but they won't call us back to schedule the finish. I paid in full and now feel disappointed they left me with an unfinished patio. I hope they read this and remember they have an unfinished job in West Seattle and finally call us back. read more

We hired Walter and the crew back in late June 2019. We were just moving into our charming, but older, Education Hill (Redmond, WA) home and I have spent a considerable amount of time researching contractors for pavers. Something really jived with me when I saw the review section, and then the website gave me enough of a gut feeling to hire. Like many of you reading this, it must be intimidating to hire out a 2-15k dollar job like this to a place with under 10 (at the time of this writing in Coronavirus May 2020) reviews. Please, I encourage you to consider these guys. Out of all of the contractors I've worked with since June 2019 to now, these are PRO'S. They worked SUPER hard and just got the job DONE. No excuses, no cell phones, nothing but grit and work ethic. They completed this job in less than 72 hours. I can't remember if it was 1 or 2 days. This was a 40~ year old cement driveway they had to rip out of the ground, and it turned out to be over 6 feet deep, but they committed and did it. Then, they filled the ground and laid a perfect Pewter Grey paver stone pattern. The work itself has lasted the seasons. To this day, our driveway is just stupid gorgeous. Rain, Snow, Heat and Cold have not done anything to it. I've found 1 chip, and it was my fault - I dropped a shovel on paver stone, shame on me. Water drains, even when under a super high load. Now, back to the work done at the time. Not only did they get the geometry right (I'm an engineer by trade, so this was refreshing), but also the spacing, the depth, the slope, gradient, everything. Walter and his team spent an abnormal amount of time checking and leveling the work space extensively. We did not work on some elaborate design or plan prior, I literally showed him the phone the day before work began and said "I want this, but, like, a drive way, you know?" and showed him the stone and pattern from his website, on my iPhone 6. He nodded, and literally took my imagination out of my head and made it real. I'm so genuinely impressed. This work was done so well, so fast, to such a degree of quality, with amazing materials and its been a year just about and its holding up better than I honestly expected. The amount of comments I've received on the driveway, almost every time I'm outside on a sunny day, is a long list of comments. We enjoy subtly 'flexing' the new improvement to the home and look forward to finding an excuse to work with Walter and his crew again in the near future! I've attached some pictures. Enjoy. Thank you again Walter and team. Keep up the great work, this driveway has been incredible. read more

Walter and his team installed a 14x18' patio in our back yard in August of 2022. After contacting Walter he worked incredibly quickly to get me a quote and explain their services and process. His team was able to get started on our project the same week that we contacted him, and they worked extremely fast. We discussed the requirements (dimensions, slope, materials etc.), and he made sure that we agreed on all of the details before getting started. His team removed our old concrete patio and did a very nice job leveling out the space and properly preparing it for the pavers. They seem to have the process down to a science. They had all the right tools people to get the job done correctly and efficiently. We are very happy with the finished product, and would happily recommend Walter and his team to anybody looking to install a paver patio. We're already enjoying hosting friends and family in the new space :) read more

Walter's team did a fine job replacing an old, rotting wood retaining wall with concrete blocks to match my stairs. They were reasonably priced, especially compared to some of the local rockeries whose bids were just astronomical. The crew was knowledgeable, hardworking, and meticulous and the end result was excellent. Walter showed up to supervise and made sure everything went smoothly, despite his current battle with brain cancer. This is a long-overdue review of the excellent paver work that Walter, his son and his team have done for our front yard and backyard last summer! Well, I can now also testify to the quality of their work since it's been over half a year (and through the rainy season) since they did their work. We have a large backyard, about 1/3 of which we wanted do lay pavers so we can use it as a patio space. Walter created a beautifully curved patio area and also did a walkway from the patio area across our lawn, leading to our master bedroom. His team did such a good job that I ended up asking them to replace our concrete front yard walkway with their pavers, too. They, again, blew me away with the beautiful workmanship -- both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Fast forward... I observed how our front yard and back yard pavers withstood the harsh weather during the winter. The angles were done perfectly that water flew the way it was supposed to, on both backyard and front yard. We didn't have any single issue that we needed their attention to, ever since they left our property after their initial work. Thank you Walter and the team! Also, thank you for all your jokes and your "small talks" with our dog, it was pretty entertaining to be around you guys :) read more

I'm so happy we replaced our walkway with pavers. Walter and his team were great! He was punctual and professional. I was on a time crunch and he got this done in 2 days. Walter was present during the entire project and you can see his pride of workmanship. I thought pavers would be too expensive and was planning to just replace the cracked walkway with the initial cement/concrete...boy was I wrong. For a little more, the pavers installment made more sense. It makes a great first impression to the entrance of the house and a significant increase in my property value. Thanks Walter! read more

Walter and his crew did an amazing job with our walkway/patio project. We had a narrow unpaved alley along the side of my house and lots of wasted space on one side of it. It is where all the trash bins sit and It has become a muddy mess and an eyesore. We hired Walter's crew to take all the dirt/debris out and install a walkway. We are super satisfied with the quality of their job. Now our garbage bins have a nice little pad to rest on and we have more usable space in the corner of our backyard. After observing the process, I find out that: 1) Walter's team work together efficiently to make the job done very quickly. They even shortened the job by one whole day as we were quite lucky to have consecutive clear sky days which helps the prep work before paving. 2) His team are super friendly and very easy to communicate with. Words don't quite do justice, so I'll post photos later. I would recommend them with high confidence. read more

I contacted Seattle Eastside for a bid to redo my driveway. They scheduled an appointment with me today 10:30 am on April 14th. We waited at home till 10:40 am and still no show or communication. I called him back and remind him we scheduled 10:30 am appointment. He clearly didn't remember and blanked out. I asked him what he plans to do moving forward? He didn't say anything but tried to make up something and telling me he called me at 10am. I told him he didn't cause I was sitting in my office with my phone the entire time. Then he goes on silence again. I asked him do you still want to come here for a bid? He told me NO. I'm so glad I see the red flag early enough, I have no interest to hire or work un-professional people and company like Seattle Eastside Pavers. Very pleased with the job that Walter and his crew did on our small paver job. Walter was very responsive and submitted a very reasonable bid for the work we needed done. In addition to Walter, Samuel, Francisco and Juan were efficient and professional. We hired Walter and Samuel for a pretty big project on our property. Initially, I was a bit hesitant with such a large project - I have a very steep slope in the backyard that I wanted to build a retaining wall, fill it up and install a large patio. But Walter and Samuel turned out to be real pros. They provided a very competitive quote and worked consistently to complete the project in 2.5 weeks. My experience with Seattle Eastside Pavers is probably 4.5 stars but I opted for a 4 stars so others who read this review can do a better job than I did with working with Seattle Eastside Pavers to get a 5 stars experience. For the pavers work specifically I rate it as 5 stars. Walter and Samuel work on the pavers is excellent and there is nothing I would change. I am very happy with patio build by them and it was exactly what we needed and they finished on time. Where it fall short of expectation was my project involved creating a box for a sump pump and the box cover finish wasn't as good as expected which I had to rebuild. This is the result of poor communication on both side and I will be the first to admit I could do a better job as well. There were also hiccups along the way that could have been avoided if there was proper communication.
