I put in a quote request on yelp for an issue with some outlets on the same breaker being off while others were on . Most of the other businesses asked to send a technician over, but Tucker responded quickly and promptly like so: " Hey, It's a minimum $250 charge for us to come out so I'm going to try and save you a service call. All bathrooms, exterior plugs, kitchens and garages have to have their outlets gfci protected. Most times they'll wire these in series so if one gets tripped the whole circuit gets tripped. I'd check every of those areas for a tripped gfci. I've seen a bathroom gfci be the reason the outdoor plugs aren't working. Even after I had to pause the project for about six months, they picked things right back up with zero friction. Pricing was clear and straightforward up front, no surprises. The actual work was done efficiently in about half an hour, which I really appreciated. They sent out Cade, who was fantastic. He was friendly, warm, and very professional, and clearly knew his stuff. Our house is very old (built in the 1930s), and he was thoughtful and realistic about what was possible given the age of the wiring. He was also understanding of our situation as renters and worked within our budget without any pressure or upselling. I was also completely out of my depth, to the point where Cade solved 50%+ of our issues by flipping a literal switch. In the past, when I called in severalof the large, heavily advertized electrical contractors, their reps tried to talk me into replacing our breaker panels, which I knew were fine. GM's electricians came out promptly, checked all the wiring connected to our "nuisance tripping" breaker and correctly suggested that the applicance was at fault, which saved us a lot of hassle. Butta-bing -butta-bing: all this was done in the first hour for the minimum payment. I will call them again if/when the need arises. read more

Tucker and Gold Mountain Contracting did excellent work for us on very short notice, on two projects: 1) We have some fir floating stairs in front of our house that had been virtually destroyed by 12 years of rain and lack of proper maintenance. We had one carpenter a couple of years ago try and restore them and it really didn't improve them much at all. Tucker came out, removed the stairs, and took them to his shop for a few days. We told him he could just rebuild them from scratch if need be. Several days later, he came back with stairs that looked almost brand new, but managed to re-used most of the original wood. The appearance was even better than we expected, and we were almost sure they couldn't be restored. We also needed part of our roof deck ripped up to create some access to the area underneath and then replaced. Tucker was able to gingerly remove the boards in a way that they could be easily nailed back down in place when the job was eventually done. All of this was completed on pretty short notice and at a great price. Would highly recommend Tucker and will be using him again for other projects. read more

My wife and I hired Tucker of Gold Mountain Contracting after hearing his name from a local Sherwin-Williams store. He was tasked with painting numerous accent walls, as well as our fence. Over the span of a couple days, Tucker and his partner completed the project in a timely fashion. He was a pleasure to work with, especially given his friendly attitude. More importantly was his willingness to cooperate and work with us. During our walkthrough, my wife and I pointed out some minor details that we were dissatisfied with. Tucker redid the work according to the specifications and did not charge us extra. Unfortunately I could not give him full marks. Through no fault of his, one of the walls were just too difficult to cut properly. No matter how hard he tried, it didn't come out as straight as we had hoped. Perhaps it is an issue with the walls themselves. Take it as you may. Although I would give his effort 5 stars, the work would be closer to 4 in my opinion. read more
