Can you believe they sent me my yearly maintenance contract??!! I no longer have the boiler....no thanks to them!

I am well pleased with the professionalism of the work crew. Eddie H. and Dan J. arrived on time and discussed the different alternatives how pipes supposed to be laid out before installing my furnace. Their work was very clean and well done. The next day, I was very impressed with Joe A and Scott who installed my attic fan within half an hour. Another neat work was done professionally. Well done, Edison Heating! Keep up the good work! read more

A pleasant experience! From start to finish! My air conditioner system needed to be replaced and I called Edison for an estimate. They couldn't have been friendlier or more professional, from the person who answered the initial call to the Comfort Advisor Dan. He came over to give us an estimate (actually 3 different options to choose from), to the installers. Great job by all! They installed the system on a hot day in August to get us back to being cool. They arrived on time with masks on and booties for their feet, when they finished they explained everything to my wife. The work area was left as clean as when they got there. I think maybe even cleaner! Thanks Edison! I will be recommending you guys to everyone I know! read more

We used Edison Heating & Cooling to replace our heating & cooling systems. Ryane was our sales person who I can't say enough good things about. He was professional, honest and just a great person to work with. The technicians were prompt, clean, & very knowledgeable, who explained everything very clearly. Ryane even came out the day of installation to make sure everything was going well. Thank you for a pleasant experience with your company! read more

I just got my Aprilaire humidifier fixed by Edison heating and cooling. They replaced Aprilaire maintenance kit ($44.95 if you buy online) and manual humidifier control ($28.55 if you buy online). They charged by $447. Big rip-off!!!. Try to work with Home Depot or other more credible service providers if possible. read more

I have had a contract with them for a few years. We had an issue with AC. They booked a time to come out and we had an emergency and needed to reschedule. They said I now had to wait a week for an Appointment because we had to reschedule. Contract says they come in 24 hrs but I guess that not the case. read more

Punctual with appointments, just not good at returning VMs..

Edison Heating and Cooling is a company I recommend 5 star for any HVAC needs. They always call when they are on their way, and Joe arrived right on time. Being the new homeowner, it was important to have the system checked and serviced. They are always neat, with shoe covers and floor covering. I used Edison Heating and Cooling in my last home to replace the entire HVAC system several years ago. It made for quite a selling point to have such a great system. Before any work is completed, Joe reviewed everything and welcomed questions. It is difficult to find a reputable company who does great quality work. Edison Heating and Cooling has never disappointed. I referred them to my daughter and her husband for a new HVAC system- replacing their oil tank system - and they had a great experience as well. Thank you all! read more

Beware of high pressure sales tactics to save money by signing contract right away. After their "coupon" and "discount", their bid was actually over 20% more than other bids on the exact same equipment by other contractors with equivalent credentials. Make sure you do your homework before doing business with them. Update 1/2/15: John, thanks for your response. I was told by the salesman that the 10 year labor warranty was a promo from Carrier that was about to expire, so it wouldn't affect the price. The company I used also had experienced and courteous installers who also went through a screening process. I am paying for my permits, which will not amount to the thousands more quoted in your company's proposal. read more

Well, this review will be for what I have experienced so far with a new natural gas boiler install. Last week, a guy came out for an estimate. Professional but not uppity. He liked his Italian banter vs. my Irish banter. We are a couple of Jersey guys and that I was comfortable with. He didn't sell me. His approach and knowledge did. He figured out what my house needed accordingly, not what he wanted me to buy. Explained all the usual "we're a good company to use" stuff which was expected. All of correct as I researched them beforehand. The appointment started on time. Two guys(who were hvac techs, not Home Depot pick-ups)arrived @ 0800, setup, and got to work. Two more showed up to break down the old boiler. They left with the old and the other guys continued working. Friendly and I left em alone. Except for Ed the Broncos fan. Wish I knew theyd be sending him to a household of the Raider Nation! They finished by around 1630, cleaned up and everything was explained(new thermostat/safety operations, etc) and working properly when they left. read more

Best experience I've had with an HVAC company since I've been a homeowner for 25 years. Scheduling the appt was easy, and Ryan called when he was 15 minutes away, as I requested. He was an expert and knew just what to do to find the leak. He found it, fixed it and explained everything to me. I will recommend Edison HVAC to everyone I know and will definitely call them next time. Great value, excellent service. read more

These guys are friendly and highly knowledgeable. They showed up on time, communicated clearly when the job would be complete, and there was always someone to help answer questions when I called. The only part I was apprehensive about was parting with all that cash after the job is complete, but before the inspection. Who knows if in the off chance the job doesn't pass inspection, if they will come back to rectify the issue? Understandably, getting the inspector in my town is not fast delivery pizza, and they did complete and test the new furnace I had purchased. Mind you, this review is being written in the summer, when I haven't yet put the furnace to work, although I am quite confident of the workmanship. read more

My parents central air broke down and I had unpleasant experiences with Home Depot/ AJ Perri and Gold Medal. From Dan to the installers Mike and Mike it was such a different experience! They worked with us through the financing to getting the job done when others either turned us down or were trying to scam my elderly parents into jobs they didn't need. I highly recommend, thanks for providing my parents with what they needed! read more

BEWARE of un explained charges if you give your CC before they show up. I called their tech to look why AC was not running. He diagnosed that the Thermostat had gone bad and was asking for $298 to replace thermostat [you can get one for 50 bucks at HD] + $90 diagnostic fees [this is valid and acceptable] + $125.00 labor [ too high to install thermostat] so I told him NOT to install thermostat. The Tech gave an invoice of $90.00 for diagnostics and left. Later that evening the company charged $270.00 on my CC. I need to know why I was charged $270 when their was nothing else replaced or installed on the AC system. I hope that the company refunds the amount after deducting Diagnostics Fees + tax. Lets wait and see. read more

We contacted this company in August 2014 to install a new system (furnaces, condensers, etc.) in a building our firm was moving into (doors opening1-1-15). We are still happy we did. The service team was and remains professional. The system has been in place for 4 years now and any issues have been cleared up in a timely fashion. I tend to ask 1,000 questions and the customer service team, management, and technicians take the time to educate me on coils, condensers, and other equipment. We had some concern with the exterior coils that was resolved in a timely manner with no hidden costs or attitude. The service agreement each year has managed to cover most of the maintenance costs - over four years I can count on one hand issues that came up outside of standard maintenance and the charge ALWAYS came came up lower then the estimate. The couple of times I called for the air conditioning not being cold enough, the response was quick and the air was blowing cooler within hours. Things happen - the point is this company does not try to avoid fixing things. They listen, they suggest emailing photographs, if applicable, and they resolve the problem. If you need a company that is professional, courteous, hardworking, and installs equipment they stand behind, this is the one. From the owner, Michael, to the manager Patrick, to customer service (I must mention Lauren, patience of a Saint), and the technicians (all skilled and knowledgeable - especially Christopher), you will not be disappointed with their service. read more

I will never use Edison Heating and Cooling again. My Air Conditioning unit stopped working. I called for a service/repair and they came on their next available appointment 3 days later which was ok with me. Technician came in and looked over the unit and said the unit needed to be replaced because it was 15 yrs old. Once I insisted that he at least trouble shoot it the technician Paul went straight to the capacitor and tested it. That was the problem. The technician than told me that this was an expensive part and would cost me $289 dollars to replace. Than he said the contacter was failed as well another $289 dollars. With 95 degree temperature I reluctantly agreed. Come to find out the capacitor is a $15.50 item and the contactor is a $14.95. This company price gouges and can't be trusted as my example shows. I think they are thieves and I Would NOT trust, use or recommend Edison Heading and Cooling. . SHAME ON YOU!! read more

Yesterday we had trouble with our furnace, so using the internet, my wife type in the problem and our zip code and came up with Edison Heating & Cooling. Wow, Double wow, we got an appointment for the same afternoon. Mr. Sodhi Singh arrive on time, and cleaned, flushed, tightened, check and adjusted our furnace. When he was finished the furnace was serviced, the boiler pressure was normal and we signed up for yearly maintenance. We are both lucky. We are lucky tl have found you, and you are lucky to have such a professional well mannered employee. We will recommend your company and your employee to everyone we know. Thank you. I am the happy owner of a Ductless Air Conditioning System which was installed by Edison Heating and Cooling about 6 years ago. We were very pleased with the easy one day installation. The units are almost SILENT as the compressor is outside and each unit is basically the receiver. You can control each room's temperature individually, and have any number of the units on. They are very efficient. There were a couple of times I needed small maintenance attention, and they sent a tech to me EVERY TIME the same day I called ! They go out of their way to make things right ! I am very thankful for them and would highly recommend them ! George and Sue from Fords, NJ read more

I had a problem with my chimney. The clay inside the chimney was cracking and was very dangerous. I had called several companies and was quoted a wide rage of prices in the thousands of dollars range. Edison HVAC came in reviewed the current problem and determined that all I needed was a new liner. Other HVAC companies also said I needed a new liner but they wanted a huge amount of money for it. EDHVAC installed a new liner in the existing brick chimney at a very reasonable cost. The two service techs came early they where professional, laid down tarps, did a real professional job, and gave me some piece of mind. I recommend this company to anyone looking for any work on their HVAC system. Joe Edison read more

Today they really saved the day! Last night we had zero hot water and also no heat as the hot water also goes through the furnace. Ted came over quickly this morning and diagnosed multiple issues which the previous plumber from another company had missed and he was able to repair the unit so that it is functioning now until the other repairs are made. He was very thorough in looking for the cause of the problems and not just putting a bandaid on a bigger issue! Thank you Edison Heating & Cooling!!! read more

Last Wednesday evening, I placed a call to Edison Heating & Cooling to report a problem with our furnace. Chris was at our door in under an hour and went right to work. Chris brought a level of personal service and expertise to the diagnostics and repair that, by the time the problem was resolved, made me an enthusiastic fan of the company. Chris also took the time to explain the benefits of purchasing an annual maintenance contract. I honestly can't imagine how an emergency service call could have turned out any better from the customer standpoint. I often use the expression, "Not like the commercial" when a service or product performs woefully under expectations. In the case of Chris and Edison Heating and Cooling, I would revise that to, "Better than the commercial!". Robert L. Edison, NJ read more

I contacted Edison Heating & Cooling to get a quote for service on our AC unit. I did not need it diagnosed to determine any issues, just to have everything checked. I explained this to the woman who answered the phone and was given a price of $89 + tax. When I said I wanted to schedule an appointment she indicated they were booking for Wednesday and Thursday of this week. I was transferred to the scheduling department and after explaining what I needed the price changed to $143+tax and I was told they had nothing available until the 2nd week of July. I'm not sure how price and schedule can change within 30 seconds but it did and I ended up not booking with them. read more

I have a dual zone system and both of my units were having some issues. I reached out to PSE&G because they did work on my one unit previously. I called Edison Heating and Cooling(EHC) to look at my other unit(AC issue) When the tech from Edison heating and cooling arrives, PSE&G were already onsite. The EHC tech was more concerned with why PSE&G was there than actually looking at my problem. The unit in question was turned on and immediately the EHC tech stated that we have no pressure and that it will be $200-$600 to test the unit. He made this statement from the condenser outside and he really had no interest in looking at the unit in the attic which was easily accessible. Edison Heating and Cooling only care about an up sell. Don't do it. Friendly and they finance. But after reaching out to two other plumbers they did not support the diagnosis that my boiler was unsafe to operate. One plumber when quoting replacement had it up and running in 30 min for $140 and advised that the boiler however old did not need to be replaced at this time. $89 diagnostic fee turned into a $200 fee to basically tell me the unit was "dangerous". After have them quote a replacement price they were adamant of pushing low effiencency 84 AFUE Carrier product for the same price I received for Weil-McClain hi effiencency boiler and hot water combo. Needless to say I have a family of 6 and did not appreciate leading to winter they predatory approach. read more

This is a warning to avoid this business at all costs. My experience began when the air conditioning unit in my bedroom did not go on last summer. I called Edison and they sent a service man out who indicated that it needed a new circuit board and they would have to order it and come back to install. This visit cost over $50. Several weeks later the circuit board arrived and they sent another serviceman out (more time out of work as well) but when he installed the board it did not work at all. He removed the board and indicated that we needed a different circuit board (another $50). Several weeks later a second circuit board arrived with a third service visit. This serviceman seemed to know what he was doing and found that the unit plug had fallen out of the socket and when plugged in the unit worked fine. He took the circuit board back with him and indicated there would be no charge. Two months later I received a bill for over $800 for the circuit board and visit. I called to discuss the issue and was disconnected in the middle of our phone call by very rude manager. They then sent this to collection agency and I continue to argue with them. Now I see the other similar reviews - inexperienced, bad service and not worth the aggravation. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience of purchasing a new furnace and central air conditioning. I chose Edison Heating & Cooling because, they came recommended and they are listed as a Carrier Presidents award winning contractor.I had some knowledge of the system I was looking for and received all the info I needed from Pat at Edison. My system was installed over the summer and has been providing much needed comfort to a previously uncomfortable bi-level. I am a novice at anything construction related but, even I could tell the installers were very experienced. My home was kept neat and clean. I have some issues programing the thermostat but, I am "technology challenged". I would definitely recommend Edison to do your install. read more

Great service! Last night was pouring, with thunder cracking all over the place. The Central air conditioner quit on us. Call the Edison heating and cooling. I was told they were swamped, and a tech will be here around 8 to 12. So imagine my surprise when the door bell rang right around 8. The service tech, Sodhi, was very polite and professional. found the problem in no time and all, it's the frozen coil inside the air intaker, or some thing like that. Althou he couldn't really do any thing about it, he explained what needed to be done, and was very detailed, even to some one like me, who really don't know a lot about HVAC. I would definitly recommend their service to friends and family. read more

Stay away from them. They said $2000+ repair cost for heating system for no reason and took money for improper diagnosis and labor $145 plus tax though the issue is not fixed. Two technicians came day after other scaring me with all wrong information about my heating system rather fixing it. Then I checked with a different technician from a different company he just removed a small bird which fell from the chimney and charged me only for labor, no repairs nothing. I was without heat for 3 days because of them. Ridiculous. read more

Awesome!!! Best customer experience I have ever experienced. (No I don't work for the company) From the quote to job completion a first rate company. Of special recognition, the two installers (Anthony and Bob) were exceptional. Being a professional skeptic by trade (Auditor) they answered all my questions, took the time to speak to me in layman's terms and provided me with and education. Their quality was unbelievable. They worked as if it was their house. The quote was reasonable and in certain aspects better than competitors. Andy was able to provide differences between my other bids and was also very receptive to my questions. Dave the designer was easily to talk with and take a joke. All in all, I highly recommend Edison Heating and Cooling they get 5 stars for a pleasant experience. read more

I POSTED THIS SAME REVIEW ON THEIR WEBSITE BUT THEY NEVER ALLOWED IT TO BE SEEN PUBLICLY I called for service in early June 2015 to insure my A/C system was working properly and to see if they could resolve an issue with specific rooms not properly cooling. Everything started out great. The tech was precisely on time, and even wore booties inside my home. He performed what I was told was a complete diagnosis of my system, and I was told the mechanical portion of my system was working exactly as it was supposed to. As for the "warm" rooms he recommended that I have a damaged section of supply duct replaced as it was slightly leaking air and to install dampers on the first 4 registers to push more cool air to the last 2 rooms. I asked him how much the recommendations would cost to implement and he said he couldn't tell me, but he took measurements and told me someone from the office would call me with the quotes. He charged me a service call and 1/2 hour labor to place a piece of foil tape on a leaking seam of the damaged supply duct. I patiently waited more than 4 weeks for the office to call with the price of the recommended fixes but finally called to follow up. After a rather lengthy hold I was told that the tech had to be contacted to see if he could remember the measurements and then a price would be generated. I was told I would hear back within 48 hours. I was called back within this window and given one price for both recommendations. I asked if the price could be broken down by recommendation, and the girl told me she would get that information and call me back the next day, and I never heard back from them. I later discovered that each of my registers already had dampers in them, so this is one of those things that makes you wonder exactly what this company is up to? Overall grade for this experience would have to be an F read more

honestly, you're asking for trouble here, literally. they knowingly install improper parts. first it was my brand new AC, after 5-6 service visits they admitted using coils that were "too large" and that had a history of problems per their own service people, then guess what, same deal with my brand new heater, guy was just here, says this happens all the time, and again, my units are both less than a year old. i'd go 0 stars if I was able. find someone else read more
