We recently had a new Generac generator installed by Corbin Electrical Services, and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience. There was a lot involved with the installation, and everyone who came out was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and did an awesome job. A huge thank you to John, Jack, Taylor, Juan, Lamar, Daniel, and Osiris for all of their hard work throughout the process. Everyone worked together seamlessly and made sure everything was done properly. A special thank you to Barbara in the office as well. She was extremely helpful throughout the process and made everything so much easier from start to finish. We're very happy with our new generator and would absolutely recommend Corbin Electrical Services to anyone looking for a professional and reliable company! read more

Very Disappointed After 11 Years of Being a Loyal Customer We have had a generator service contract with Corbin Electric for the past 11 years, trusting them to properly service and maintain our Generac generator. During a recent storm with heavy winds and rain, the lid of our generator blew open, resulting in several electrical components being damaged. Corbin Electric sent a technician who inspected the damage, replaced several components, and ordered an additional part that was on backorder. Shortly afterward, we received a bill for the repairs. When I questioned why the generator lid had been left unsecured, Corbin Electric informed me that they intentionally leave generator lids unlatched and unlocked for the homeowner's convenience. I contacted Generac directly and was strongly advised that the generator lid should be properly latched and locked at all times to protect the equipment. What I find most upsetting is that Corbin Electric, the company we have paid for professional maintenance for 11 years, acknowledged leaving the lid unsecured yet adamantly insisted that the damage was the homeowner's responsibility. Why are we paying for a professional service contract if the company performing the maintenance is not properly securing the equipment? In my opinion, had the lid been properly latched and locked, this damage could have been avoided. I believe Corbin Electric should take responsibility for the repair costs rather than pass them along to a longtime customer. After 11 years of loyalty, I am extremely disappointed in their handling of this situation, their unwillingness to accept responsibility, and their lack of customer service. I would strongly encourage anyone with a generator service contract to verify that their generator is being properly secured after every service visit. read more

Our home is about 20 years old. We've been living in it for about 6 years. We've never had any sort of electrical issues. One day a light switch stopped working. I called Corbin and they sent a fellow to look into the problem. He very quickly determined that the switch had to be replaced. Without even turning off the circuit he took out the bad switch and put in a new one. Now everything is fine. The job only took about 20 minutes but it was wealth worth the cost. read more

Great reliable service. Always get the job done on time. Cost effective and dependable electric services.

Been using Corbin for 30 years. They are no longer responsive like they used to be They installed a number of led recessed lights for me As they started to fail almost immediately I was told it was a defective shipment of lights At the beginning they replaced them whenever they went bad. Now the remaining lights are failing and they won't even call back Disappointed that they are not as good as they used to be. read more

I can't say how disappointed I am with this company. Every time I go over something that wasn't in my immediate view, I find something that was carelessly done by this company. Last week I had an exterminator come because a few field mice came into my crawlspace under my son's room. After I put a few mouse hotels in to catch the poor creatures without killing them one or two came back so a friend who wants the exterminating company recommended that since the insulation was roughly 18 years old that I have him take it out and reinstall new insulation. Well, to my surprise after he pulled the insulation out and found several portions that were ripped out and stuffed back in carelessly, he finds at least nine holes that were drilled into beams that were freshly drilled so they weren't a mistake by another company, but he finds one that is so large that the beam that they drilled through is hardly supporting anything, however there are numerous other ones taking up the weight. Only about three weeks ago I had to have them come in and wear their worker installed a electrical box to supply the whole house generator installed. They failed to put a cover on the box and left it wide open where any kid or person reaching in that area, could've grabbed wires Which is a major no no in the business, but I can only blame him because the Hackensack inspector also failed because he didn't get his fat butt into the crawlspace. He just loft and collected his money for the inspection. Now I knew this inspector for years he lived up the street from me on Poplar Avenue and he was obnoxious as could be when he came to do the inspections and it was amazing because this guy was a little tiny mouse when it was on the fire department quiet and stayed all to himself but now since he retired and got a sub coat official job he's a big mouth, arrogant person But back to this company, I should not have to tear my house apart to find out things that they did inappropriately and that's because when their workers came, there was no supervisor with them. They left messes filthy dirty messes everywhere, and never picked up a broom to clean anything, my wife had to keep cleaning up after them so no I would not recommend this company. Unfortunately I had them and it's just unfortunate because every time you call him about something that you find the ignorant girl that answers the phone makes up 20 different excuses to Sunday to defend them, which shows me she's somebody's Patsey so no I don't recommend this company. I would say stay away from them. read more

Corbin Electric installed my Generac Whole House Natural Gas Generator with automatic switchover in 2020. When power from the electric company is interrupted, my generator kicks on, and my entire house is fully back online on generator power within 30 seconds. I had my 6 month routine scheduled generator maintenance visit earlier this week, and I was very impressed with the Technician, Scott Bedell, who was assigned to my maintenance task. I found Scott to be polite, knowledgeable, attentive, professional, thorough, and overall, an excellent representative of Corbin Electric. As I have been since my system was installed, I am very comfortable with Scott at the controls, and I am confident that my generator system health is in the right hands with Corbin. Thanks to Scott and to the rest of the Corbin Team, who keep my system healthy and provide peace of mind that electric power to my house will continue, virtually uninterrupted. read more

Several people recommended Corbin electrical to us for a job in our new home. We needed outlets placed in our garage as well as our basement. We also needed an outlet placed outside. All together 11 outlets and 4 new circuits were added. They came right out and within a few hours we had our estimate. They arrived yesterday. Alex and his partner began to work immediately. They involved us in the work asking exactly what we wanted. Professional, friendly and communicative are only a few adjectives I can use to describe them. Their work was flawless. They left all the work areas spotless and were relentless in getting this jib done properly. If you need electrical work done, I wholeheartedly recommend Corbin electrical. You will not be disappointed!!! read more

Stay away if you cannot project manage yourself. Office, scheduling, and follow up are impossible to work with. They do not: -Answer the phone for you during their posted office hours. I spent hours trying to reach Peggy or anyone who could respond. -Fail to follow up on documentation like permits. Mine was weeks late, because Peggy hadn't even confirmed the town received it for 1 month causing my project to be delayed without recourse. I had to start following up with the town myself. Work on site was adequate. read more

Corbin electric installed a whole house generator In June 2025. The process has been slow and tedious. I had to keep reaching out to get permit approval. My yard was left a mess . Living at the beach my entire back yard is rocks. I was told they aren't landscapers so I raked my entire yard myself to make it presentable. Corbin did come back with stones to fill in the large hole they left behind. Now I have failed inspections twice for the same issue because the base they put under the generator is not what Tom's River wants. Inspector wants the base as per Generac specs and Corbin wants to put a $30.00 cheap cement board underneath which is meant for tiling installations. I will update as this unfolds, but think twice about this company. read more

These guys are great! I loved working with them-- pricing was fair and my electrical jobs were professionally done.

I purchased an $18,500 generator from Home Depot and they contracted the work out to Corbin Electric. The biggest issue is that Corbin electric broke the wiring on two of my lights (on two separate occassions). The lights were working prior to the generator install, but malfunctioned after Corbin's visit. I complained to Corbin and they came out to my house to inspect the issue. They said that the issue was pre-existing and quoted me a price to fix the problem. I explained that I am 100% sure that the issue was not pre-existing and the lights malfuntioned after their service. Despite my efforts, the Corbin team refused to fix the problem. I'm a real estate investor and have worked with many electricians. Corbin is the worst one I have dealt with thus far. I'm going to have to pay another electrician to resolve this issue unfortunately. *** UPDATE *** Corbin is stating "Unfortunately our crew diagnosed a problem with exterior wiring which was not part of the generator project. Open wiring existed outdoors, buried junction boxes were located and the problem was isolated to existing wiring. As your wiring problem was not caused by our installation, the repair would not be covered under warranty. We spent considerable time diagnosing the issue at no cost to you. You declined to pay for the repair." This simply is not true. If there was indeed a wiring problem at our house, then the lights would not have worked prior to their arrival. The lights stopped working IMMEDIATELY after Corbin worked on our property. The correlation is obvious. Corbin is clearly trying to deflect the blame for their mistake. These are really poor business practices. read more

I purchased a Generac generator (24kw) from Corbin Electric a few years back and developed a problem outside the scope of the warranty coverage. Corbin Electric - instead of turning their back on me- worked with me toward a reasonable accommodation. This is why it's always smart to deal with established, reliable companies. Kudos to Corbin Electric. Give them your business. read more

Contracted with Corbin to install a whole house generator. The installation, especially the gas line work, was sloppy. Frankly, a handyman would have done a cleaner install. Failed inspection twice because of a leak. What a mess. Took them so long to get it done that I now have a trench across the lawn all winter because the dirt is frozen. Do yourself a favor. Choose someone else to do your generator. read more

Estimators that came out were very helpful and seemed knowledgeable, however trying to schedule or speak to someone in the office was very difficult. When the techs came out to do the job they pretty much did whatever they wanted to do. What I was told by 2 different estimators from Corbin and estimators from other companies was not what the techs did -they changed the plan without even communicating to me. At the end of the day the techs told me the job was complete and I could schedule inspection; however when looking more closely at the work my husband and I both knew the disaster they left would never pass, which it didn't and I now have the mess they left along with my built ins that have been cut apart by them when if they just told me they needed to be moved I could have disassembled them; now they are broken, not any way to reassemble or fix and I am given no reimbursement or anything in return. read more

Suggestion, get everything in writing! We contracted for a generator in November, were told it could be 9 months as Generac was backordered. Our neighbor contracted with a different vendor but was told same thing. Low and behold, 3 months later they are installed and Corbin now says, oh we have too many jobs and too few people and not getting inventory we need. If they had been truthful up front, different decision. Now too late, already paid depost, and paid for site plan approval and permits. Should have gone elsewhere! read more

Our Generac generator Installation in 2019 was professional and hassle-free. We developed a small oil leak that that was difficult to locate. Corbin identified the oil sending unit as the problem, replaced and started getting a low oil pressure message. Our high rating reflects individuals that interacted together to solve the issue and always maintained a courteous, professional approach focused on providing an excellent customer experience. read more

We signed up for a generator from Corning electric. Salesman very nice, answers our calls and emails. BUT office totally ignores us. Emails and phone calls. Like our business doesn't matter. All we need is a time line for installation witch was suppose to be last week. We don't even know yet anything for our township permits. I regret my choice...wish I could go back on our decision . We need that generator installed before winter. We're getting fed up with them. Go somewhere else if you are looking even if it's a couple of thousand more . read more

I am giving 2 stars because of the lack of customer service and communication. When they did come out to perform electrical work over the past year or so (pool pump power/gfi install, exterior gfi outlet, interior bathroom sconces/fan) the technicians were friendly, professional, efficient, and performed quality work. A little pricey - but I don't mind paying for quality and professionalism. However, there was work that was requested, estimated, and discussed that was not performed. We were told by the technicians to call and schedule another visit. Two voice mails later and no response. We're done with Corbin. We are looking for another electric contractor. read more

I needed someone to look at my generator. Nice guy showed up quickly. Looked at it and said that the cradle the engine is on rusted away and I would need an entirely new generator. He told me someone would call, with an estimate - a month has gone by and no one has called. As he was leaving he started throwing up obstacles- it would take 8 months to get a new generator; that current code might restrict where my generator currently is located, etc. Needless to say, I'm trying to get another opinion and go with an organization that might be more responsive. read more
