I can't say how disappointed I am with this company. Every time I go over something that wasn't in my immediate view, I find something that was carelessly done by this company. Last week I had an exterminator come because a few field mice came into my crawlspace under my son's room. After I put a few mouse hotels in to catch the poor creatures without killing them one or two came back so a friend who wants the exterminating company recommended that since the insulation was roughly 18 years old that I have him take it out and reinstall new insulation. Well, to my surprise after he pulled the insulation out and found several portions that were ripped out and stuffed back in carelessly, he finds at least nine holes that were drilled into beams that were freshly drilled so they weren't a mistake by another company, but he finds one that is so large that the beam that they drilled through is hardly supporting anything, however there are numerous other ones taking up the weight. Only about three weeks ago I had to have them come in and wear their worker installed a electrical box to supply the whole house generator installed. They failed to put a cover on the box and left it wide open where any kid or person reaching in that area, could've grabbed wires Which is a major no no in the business, but I can only blame him because the Hackensack inspector also failed because he didn't get his fat butt into the crawlspace. He just loft and collected his money for the inspection. Now I knew this inspector for years he lived up the street from me on Poplar Avenue and he was obnoxious as could be when he came to do the inspections and it was amazing because this guy was a little tiny mouse when it was on the fire department quiet and stayed all to himself but now since he retired and got a sub coat official job he's a big mouth, arrogant person But back to this company, I should not have to tear my house apart to find out things that they did inappropriately and that's because when their workers came, there was no supervisor with them. They left messes filthy dirty messes everywhere, and never picked up a broom to clean anything, my wife had to keep cleaning up after them so no I would not recommend this company. Unfortunately I had them and it's just unfortunate because every time you call him about something that you find the ignorant girl that answers the phone makes up 20 different excuses to Sunday to defend them, which shows me she's somebody's Patsey so no I don't recommend this company. Stay away if you cannot project manage yourself. Office, scheduling, and follow up are impossible to work with. They do not: -Answer the phone for you during their posted office hours. I spent hours trying to reach Peggy or anyone who could respond. -Fail to follow up on documentation like permits. Mine was weeks late, because Peggy hadn't even confirmed the town received it for 1 month causing my project to be delayed without recourse. I had to start following up with the town myself. Corbin electric installed a whole house generator In June 2025. The process has been slow and tedious. I had to keep reaching out to get permit approval. My yard was left a mess . Living at the beach my entire back yard is rocks. I was told they aren't landscapers so I raked my entire yard myself to make it presentable. Corbin did come back with stones to fill in the large hole they left behind. Now I have failed inspections twice for the same issue because the base they put under the generator is not what Tom's River wants. Inspector wants the base as per Generac specs and Corbin wants to put a $30.00 cheap cement board underneath which is meant for tiling installations. I will update as this unfolds, but think twice about this company. read more

I purchased an $18,500 generator from Home Depot and they contracted the work out to Corbin Electric. The biggest issue is that Corbin electric broke the wiring on two of my lights (on two separate occassions). The lights were working prior to the generator install, but malfunctioned after Corbin's visit. I complained to Corbin and they came out to my house to inspect the issue. They said that the issue was pre-existing and quoted me a price to fix the problem. I explained that I am 100% sure that the issue was not pre-existing and the lights malfuntioned after their service. Despite my efforts, the Corbin team refused to fix the problem. I'm a real estate investor and have worked with many electricians. Corbin is the worst one I have dealt with thus far. I'm going to have to pay another electrician to resolve this issue unfortunately. *** UPDATE *** Corbin is stating "Unfortunately our crew diagnosed a problem with exterior wiring which was not part of the generator project. Open wiring existed outdoors, buried junction boxes were located and the problem was isolated to existing wiring. As your wiring problem was not caused by our installation, the repair would not be covered under warranty. We spent considerable time diagnosing the issue at no cost to you. You declined to pay for the repair." This simply is not true. If there was indeed a wiring problem at our house, then the lights would not have worked prior to their arrival. The lights stopped working IMMEDIATELY after Corbin worked on our property. The correlation is obvious. Corbin is clearly trying to deflect the blame for their mistake. These are really poor business practices. read more

Contracted with Corbin to install a whole house generator. The installation, especially the gas line work, was sloppy. Frankly, a handyman would have done a cleaner install. Failed inspection twice because of a leak. What a mess. Took them so long to get it done that I now have a trench across the lawn all winter because the dirt is frozen. Do yourself a favor. Estimators that came out were very helpful and seemed knowledgeable, however trying to schedule or speak to someone in the office was very difficult. When the techs came out to do the job they pretty much did whatever they wanted to do. What I was told by 2 different estimators from Corbin and estimators from other companies was not what the techs did -they changed the plan without even communicating to me. At the end of the day the techs told me the job was complete and I could schedule inspection; however when looking more closely at the work my husband and I both knew the disaster they left would never pass, which it didn't and I now have the mess they left along with my built ins that have been cut apart by them when if they just told me they needed to be moved I could have disassembled them; now they are broken, not any way to reassemble or fix and I am given no reimbursement or anything in return. read more

Our Generac generator Installation in 2019 was professional and hassle-free. We developed a small oil leak that that was difficult to locate. Corbin identified the oil sending unit as the problem, replaced and started getting a low oil pressure message. Corbin team leader Vincent immediately advised the field technician our generator required a different oil sending unit which solved all the issues. Suggestion, get everything in writing! We contracted for a generator in November, were told it could be 9 months as Generac was backordered. Our neighbor contracted with a different vendor but was told same thing. Low and behold, 3 months later they are installed and Corbin now says, oh we have too many jobs and too few people and not getting inventory we need. I am giving 2 stars because of the lack of customer service and communication. When they did come out to perform electrical work over the past year or so (pool pump power/gfi install, exterior gfi outlet, interior bathroom sconces/fan) the technicians were friendly, professional, efficient, and performed quality work. A little pricey - but I don't mind paying for quality and professionalism. However, there was work that was requested, estimated, and discussed that was not performed. We were told by the technicians to call and schedule another visit. Two voice mails later and no response. We're done with Corbin. We are looking for another electric contractor. read more

I needed someone to look at my generator. Nice guy showed up quickly. Looked at it and said that the cradle the engine is on rusted away and I would need an entirely new generator. He told me someone would call,with an estimate - a month has gone by and no one has called. As he was leaving he started throwing up obstacles- it would take 8 months to get a new generator; that current code might restrict where my generator currently is located, etc. Needless to say, I'm trying to get another opinion and go with an organization that might be more responsive. read more

So we are having a pandemic, and I understand that things are slower, but this is gone particularly badly. I own a generator that was installed by this company. We had a great experience - fair price and absolutely nothing to complain about. When I called for service as recommended by the manual however, no one ever called me back. I called back, twice, leaving three messages in three weeks, one with a live person and two on a machine, and never heard anything. So I called a fourth time, and I just asked when I might hear back. That's all I wanted to know and even said that if they would just give me a timeline, I promise I wouldn't call again until at least that amount of time had passed. The woman I spoke with was so irritated by what she obviously viewed as impatience on my part, that she let me know that she "did not work in that department and just answers the phones". When I went full Karen on her and asked if I could speak to a supervisor, she let me know that one would call me back and literally hung up on me. That was two weeks ago, and still no one has ever called. I found a competitor, and their outgoing message says that all voicemails are returned within 24 hours; this furthers my theory that it wasn't too much to ask to get called back, even just to be told that they are too busy to get to me, within three weeks or, as it has been now, five. I hate writing negative reviews, but I feel implored to let both the supervisors at the company and the general public know how I have been treated. I literally just wanted a timeline after three weeks went by and started the conversation cheerfully. I don't think this is too much to ask. But being ignored and even hung up on has actually left me upset. Bottom line: can not recommend. Corbin, call me. read more

I hired them to install a new kitchen exhaust fan. They wrote an estimate. I accepted the estimate with condition clearly hand written in contract and also in e-mail that they would install solid vent with exhaust fan.On the day of installation, they installed flexible vent claiming that it would pass inspection. Town inspectors insisted on solid vent. These people refused to do that and asked me to pay additional $400 to install solid vent through another installer. Their excuse was that they never agreed to install the solid vent in writing and it was outside of their expertise. They should have clarified that to me as soon as they received contract & e-mail from me in the beginning. Bottom line- don't hire them because they are dishonest and unprofessional. read more

Corbin installed an attic fan for us in 2017. It failed in 2018. They replaced the motor and it just failed again. The fan should last 10-15 years, not 3. I've called and left messages 3 times trying to speak to someone who doesn't just give me a standard reply. They're quick to call back when they can sell you something, but service something they already installed, no way. Not remotely interested. Reading the other bad reviews they seem to all stem around poor customer service. I've been a customer of theirs for many years, but that ends now. read more

Horrible service. We have had nothing but problems since using Corbin. Our generator is about 6yo, we have had nothing but problems. Every time they come out it is another $185 service call to return for the exact same thing. They don't want to hear what the problem is, just that you will be paying the $185 for the technician to leave the machine in "good standing," which is not the case. I would not advise using this company at all. The customer service in the office is just as bad. read more
