My husband and I have been to the Cafe twice. Their breakfast is the best in the area, the potatoes were so crisp, not like the flacid, poured from a bag type at other restaurants. Our dinner of chicken potpie and the crabmeat stuffed portobello sandwich were delicious. I fail to understand the number of terse negative reviews & suspect it is a smear campaign. Waited a long time for this local cafe to open. We have been there several times since they opened late in the summer and it just keeps getting better. There have been a couple of times when we had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but it is a small venue and not surprising that there is a wait on a weekend morning. The service has always been friendly and helpful. When there was a longer wait for the food our server explained what seemed to be growing pains whenever you open a new business. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Cafe and have never been unhappy with our food. For those who tried it early on, give it another chance. You won't be disappointed! read more

This is my first time eating here and I heard the food was great! I came here for breakfast with my girlfriend and yea... The service was HORRIBLE. We got sat and our waitress took our order. We ordered a omelette and a French toast, and we waited 35 minutes for our food. Finally our waitress came up to us and let us know she forget to put our order in. She also didn't ask us if we wanted a refill on our drinks ( both our drinks were empty ). About 15 minutes later we got food from a different waitress and our refill from another waitress. I was hoping this place would have a more creative menu but nothing different than your local greasy spoon diner. Ordered the smoked salmon platter salad and the lettuce was brown and wilted. Ended up picking everything off of it and making my own dish. Service was fine, but servers could be a little more hygienic when in the dining room (running fingers through their hair, touching face) and no one bothered to ask how are meal was. Great breakfast place if you want a platter. Not much else in yardley is open early, and serves a full breakfast meal. This place opens at 6, friendly service, good food, eggs pancakes meat, etc. All for 7.25 pretty reasonable. Definitely as good as Denny's which is a trek away in langhorne, with more small town atmosphere. read more

After waiting for months for this place to open, I have tried it twice and walked out both times. The first time 2 weeks ago when there were so many people waiting for tables my wife and I could not even get into the door. I tired it agin on Friday when I was able to go later in the morning but before lunch, thinking it wouldn't be as crowded. I was wrong. It was very busy but not so much with customers as it was from an obvious lack of organization. I sat at the counter, thinking it might be faster. Unfortunately, the area available for me to sit was cluttered with "to go" containers and people who seemed to be trying to pay there bill. There were 4-5 employees all cluttered around trying to resolve who got what and some poor woman who was trying to get her coffee to go, with no supply of sugar or half and half after she finally got it. After 10 minutes of waiting and watching what looked like an old three stooges movie...not to mention a single waiter or waitress even making eye contact, I walked out. I'll never go back. Too bad. We need another good breakfast place in Yardley. read more

Went for lunch with a friend and had a good meal. There was a long wait so we sat at the counter. They had only been open 3 weeks. I think this is gonna be a nice place to go when thay have been open a while. The food is generally good, especially their breakfast menu. I had lunch there today and the owner/manager served us, so I was surprised to see she was comfortable serving a sandwich that didn't have the chips and pickle on the side, as described on the menu and that looked like is was cut in half with a chainsaw (it was a club, but the bread was torn apart so that the sandwich had to be eaten with a knife and fork). Had breakfast for Father's Day here with my husband, toddler, and I. We got there and ended up first on their wait list and got to watch tables sit vacant and dirty for a bit before being cleaned. We just moved from Hatboro and are used to the incredible service at Daddypops where tables are changed over very quickly by the much older waitstaff. The younger waitstaff here seemed to not know what they were doing at times. So, we got our table and they took our drink and breakfast order quickly. Breakfast was a bit greasy but decent. After they had set breakfast on the table though, they never came back. No water refills, offers of more coffee, not even to see if we were done! I had to go to the counter and ask for a box and the check. This was especially vexing because we were at a seat right by the counter! I am not sure if we will be back. Another ten mins north and we can go to Mosch and Itztys (I think that's the name) in Newtown which was phenomenal in good and service. read more

I had breakfast/lunch there with a friend just yesterday. I loved the food and would go back, but I agree that things seemed a little disorganized. We seated ourselves at the counter - I didn't want to wait for a table. I think there's too much booth seating and this will be a problem for the cold weather when the outdoor seating is no longer available for the overflow. I understand that all the waitstaff pools tips so there's no incentive for one to be sharper or more efficient than the other - that may account for the slowness of service. No incentive to hustle. Has the feel of a family owned, family-run business that needs some organization. But I totally disagree with the reviewers who say the food isn't that good. You guys don't know good comfort food. My companion and I had excellent food. I love some the items on the lunch and dinner menu and I definitely will go back to keep trying them all. I had a perfect porkroll and cheese sandwich. I mean PERFECT. Cooked thin and crispy with great pepper cheese and drizzled onions. I asked for the drizzeled onions, they weren't on the menu description, and I'm really glad I did. They added a wonderful touch to the sandwich. And my bun was perfect, too. So much better than the standard "hard roll." Only missing dill pickles, but hey... We loved Edgewood Café! It's a very small restaurant and you may have to wait a bit to be seated, but the turnaround seemed pretty quick. I've only had the breakfast there, but each time it was pretty good and the prices are very reasonable. The wait staff were also very friendly and helpful. The home fries are some of the best I've had, and the staff are super friendly. More important to us, though, was the speediness with which they brought out my toddler's pancakes (seriously maybe 5 minutes from when we sat down), and the quick--but not rushed--service we experienced thereafter. I am came across this cafe after leaving a local pumpkin patch, I was impressed with my overall experience. We were greeted and seated right away by the owner. We chose to sit at the counter. The serving staff was all friendly and all work together well. Their was a bunch of interesting items on the menu. I asked our waitress what she recommended and she told me that the farmhouse chicken was good and it turned out to be amazing. When the owner Sharon came by to ask me how my meal was I said it was good. I told her that we would be back and she recommended their new creation the " Delaney dilemma" I will gladly try that on my next visit. Let me start by saying I have NEVER written a bad review ever for anything. I have been here a few times and it's been okay. Today however was horrible. We ordered two simple breakfasts, two eggs over easy and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. After 25 minutes our breakfast comes and looks like pure slop and what was leftover at the end of their shift. My sons eggs were so overdone not even edible. Mine was equally as overdone but I ate it. After me getting up and going to ask our waiter for new eggs since he has not even once returned to our table to refill any beverage or ask how things were. It takes another ten minutes for our food to arrive so as we sit there with all cold foul food the other waiter on brought us our check and said rudely your total is on the back. To which I said my son still has not received his breakfast to which he said OH. I will not be returning here EVER. Much to my chagrin I had the (dis) pleasure of visiting this cafe again over the weekend. Unfortunately, my in-laws insisted on giving it a try regardless of my initial review. This visit was pretty much on par with my first review. Except we left without actually eating! I have no idea how breakfast can take so long considering the place is not that big! I also have no idea why everyone looks so unhappy working here! If must be family and friends of the owner because I have never been to a restaurant that would allow this kind of complacency or appearance of unhappiness. All was not lost though.. we had a great Sunday breakfast at cafe chorba in morrisville. Similar to edgewood cafe in both size and appearance but, light years ahead of them for service and food. French toast and home fries were delicious. Best breakfast I have had in the area by far, and I have lived here for 30 years. Reasonably priced as well. If you are looking for some whoopdeedo ambience this place probably isn't it, however it was clean and had a 'warm' feeling to it. If you want ambience for breakfast go to New Hope or Lahaska and pay three times as much. A big thumbs up to the Edgewood Cafe! Will return for years to come! read more

Edgewood Cafe has hit a really great niche that you just can't find in the Yardley/Lower Makefield area. Great place for breakfast.

Good morning, I usually don't complain about being waited on at all. Unfortunately, I was not waited on at this restaurant. The food was cold by the time it got to the table. All tables that were open were dirty when we first arrived but they told us to take a seat anyway. Tables did not have any silverware or condiments. I ordered French toast and there was no syrup. When asked for syrup, the waiter said he would bring it out but we never saw him again. I asked for a milk at the beginning of the dining experience but never received it. After being there for over 30 minutes, we were never asked if we needed anything else, and never got out check until going up to ask for it. The waiter's response was "my bad". There were no smiling faces or friendly words when dining at this restaurant. This is about the third time I have been to this restaurant and the service has been consistently lacking. After three tries, I have definitely made the decision to never come back which is a shame because it is conveniently located near me. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more
