    Quesadilla special
    Kim F.

Cute little cafe. No signage in front. When you walk in you really don't know where to go to be able to get seated. I don't know if it's because of the time we went on Sunday. But everybody was just standing around and no one really knew who to speak to to get seated. Thankfully we didn't wait too long. Once seated are server was very attentive. We both ended up getting one of the specials. I got the quesadilla special and my boyfriend got the Benny special. Both were very good. Even though mine looked plain. It really hit the spot. I would definitely love to try some of their other dishes. We definitely felt like having French toast. But we are trying to be good. Lol. Definitely would be back.

    Roast beef brisket sandwich

I love the farmhouse feel of this cute cottage with its beautiful wooden beams on a vaulted ceiling. This place is always packed so expect a full parking lot and wait for a table. The waitresses are very busy as well so it's not easy to get their attention. It's a fairly large menu so we split a shrimp basket and the roast beef brisket sandwich. The shrimp were excellent, just slightly battered and very tasty. The brisket was good but needs a kick of something like a tasty sauce or cheddar cheese. The fries and cole slaw were good too. I'd be willing to go back and try another sandwich.....

a plate of food with eggs, toast, and tomatoes

Had breakfast outside on the patio this morning. The weather was gorgeous and there was no wait at around 9 o'clock. I ordered nova eggs which was a poached egg with salmon, capers and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin that came with a side of potatoes. The service was great even though it was starting to get a bit crowded and they are shorthanded. I will definitely go back

The food and atmosphere are pretty good, but service always takes a long time, much longer than expected for basic breakfast dishes.

Edgewood Cafe has hit a really great niche that you just can't find in the Yardley/Lower Makefield area. Great place for breakfast.

Not only was it a delightful experience for my tastebuds, it covered the entire plate. This was one of the few times I couldn't finish my meal. It probably didn't help that I had an order of their amazing bread and butter. I love the vibe at this spot. They serve top notched meals in a casual environment. I have visited this spot at least 10 times and they don't miss. My wife has the Rye & Gochujang Radiatori. I tasted it and it was delish. I never thought to add gochujang to a pasta dish, but I will be doing that in the future. If you have room for something sweet, end your meal by sharing Brioche Doughnuts. We get them every time we visit.

Also loved the smash burger -- delicious and no pretentious frills -- but the fries were the standout; homemade, hearty and crispy. The pumpkin and pretzel casarecce pasta was very tasty as well, and the small-sized portion was plenty. Clearly the chef is talented and takes their work seriously. Given that they don't sell liquor & you can bring your own, the prices are fantastic. Cheapest dinner I've had since the early 2000s lol. They do have some N/A wines, beers and cocktails for those who don't care about booze. I could see this place being perfect for breakfast or lunch because it has beautiful views of the river. We came for dinner, and within 20-30 minutes, it was pitch black outside so we didn't get to enjoy the view. The lighting in the restaurant for dinner is too bright, which takes away from the atmosphere and makes it seem more like a takeout restaurant than upscale dining. Our server was great but the food took way too long to come out. It was about 30 minutes to get a salad. Not sure if they were short-staffed or that's just how it is but because the food was good enough, we will definitely come back to find out!

The service was somewhat slow, but the waitress was very nice. Their beer was in cans or bottles. I ordered a Head Hunter IPA and it had a date code from the summer, so their stock was a bit old. I split a bowl of crab bisque $15 with my son. It was ok on spices/flavor and had small strips of crab, but the body was on the thinner side and I didn't think it was creamy enough. A miss, plus the guy who brought it out must have had the soup shift on the walk over so he had his thumb on top of the spillage that went onto the rim. I should have sent it back, but we were hungry. The small cornbread muffins that we had before our meals came out were tasty. After discussing the lunch menu with the waitress she said the Yardley Burger was very popular. $19 - roasted tomato, boursin cheese, hand cut fries. My son ordered the chicken cutlet - $18 fresh mozzarella, vodka aioli and chips. He skipped the sauteed spinach that was supposed to come on it. They took awhile to come out. The burger had a ridiculous amount of boursin on it (plenty of herbs and garlic coming off it), the meat was bland and the hand cut fries were a tad soggy. Even the bun was weak, so for $19 they can keep it. My sons sandwich was much better. The vodka aioli flavor was a home run with the thick cutlets. Still not worth $18, but much better than the burger. I had a Yards Washington Porter with my burger that slightly helped my disappointment. This place only gets the 4th star because I love history and the building has it. It was just OK other than that. Maybe a dinner/date night is in order to see what these higher yelp reviews are all about. Their entree prices seem much more in line. For lunch, I'm a no.

Obviously, The Weekday Cafe (nice alliteration), is meant primarily for the folk who work in the complex, but if I owned the business, I would want to cast a larger net. This is the third food operation at this location in about as many years, so they have their work cut out for them. Getting the word out beyond this small universe is critical. And, while the attractive shop is diminutive, it is worth discovering. They do a decent breakfast with a limited menu and good coffee. Service is friendly and efficient.
