It's all good. The woman in charge. She takes care of everything scheduling and reservations. She knows what she's doing.

Food is great service. Excellent to do a really good job then coming here for like 28 years for mother's Day.

These were the broiled scallops they didn't clean

Service was not ideal vibes to say the least. They brought us bread in a bowl because they said they ran out of small bread plates. Cold butter. Crab dip was just hot mayonnaise with cheese. They took forever to bring the broiled scallops out but left the little tough tail on so they didn't really clean them and they look unappealing with a sprinkle of paprika for flavor lol smh who eats here fr?! Not for me. The best thing were the mozzarella sticks they were so good lol like they had seasoning in them lol that's crazy they were the best thing

These are some of best Maryland style crab cakes you can get anywhere! You have to try them!!!

Yummy. Get the lump crab cake broiled. Each bite is a chunk of lump crab meat.

Food was delish. Service was excellent. The lump crab cakes were chunked full of lump. Wow! Hardly any filler to speak of. We will definitely be back. Soooo good!

This hidden gem looks like a house so you will definitely miss it if you're driving fast. Once you're inside you're immediately greeted by one of the staff and seated. Everyone is so friendly and you feel at home. There is a little table showing desserts(stay away until you get your food) it's deliciously presented and tempting. I ordered the double crab cakes with stewed tomatoes and all I can say is OMG! The picture doesn't do it justice! Not only was it delicious it was HUGE! I have the second one for lunch today! I had a lemonade to drink but there is a full bar. This is a place I would come to again and again just for the ambiance and the food! packed with lump crabmeat but it was seasoned well. My friend had the blackened stuffed Rockfish and that didn't disappointed our taste buds(could've had a little more seasoning) but overall it was delicious! They do have a small salad bar (I didn't partake) but it looked fresh and I did see it replenished a few times while we were there.

Single crabcake dinner. Came with 2 sides. I chose fries and salad bar.

Amazing crab cakes! They are full of lump crabmeat without fillers. The house cut fries are delicious. Crab dip was just ok- too much cheese, filler, cream cheese. But everyone enjoyed their meals.

We had an amazing night celebrating my boyfriend's 50th birthday at the Edgewater restaurant!! we walked in without a reservation. It was only four of us, but were seated right away, and our waitress was very attentive. She was the granddaughter of the owner and suggested a few dishes to us, which we definitely listen to her and order the crab imperial and my boyfriend and his roommate ordered The twin rock lobster tails which were stuffed with crab imperial!! we very much enjoyed our appetizers as well. We ordered the muscles which were steamed in white wine ,butter, and garlic. The restaurant is like stepping back in time, which I really enjoyed

Date Night! His favorite spot... never heard of it! Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside, kinda out dated inside. The typical neighborhood spot. Friday night was a full house. The main area packed. That's a good sign that the food was going to be great! Absolutely. Delicious. Service, Great. Starters: Cream of Crab Soup? I'm not a soup fan but this was flavorful and FULL of lumps of sweet crab. Rockfish fingers? Fried strips of rockfish with a Cajun dipping sauce. Onions rings? So light an tasty not greasy at all. OMGoodness I could have stopped there but WHY?! I had the seafood plater broiled. Gigantic scallops, steamed shrimp, STUFFED SHRIMP, fried clams. The only thing that didn't make me feel loved was the twiced baked potato. Flat out NO. Don't get it. Get the fries. Fresh cut and delish. The fried stuffed shrimp were awesome as well. The green beans were pretty darn tasty in my opinion. Not over cooked or over seasoned. Coleslaw isn't offered as a side but was available on the salad which was very small but everything was fresh. It was very crowded, so an obvious choice by the regulars. We opted for the home made cup cakes for dessert to go because there was no way we could've eaten another single thing! This place might not have all the visual effects but it lacks absolutely nothing when it comes to amazing seafood. Ridiculous sized portions. Great wait staff. Definitely worth another visit.

You're literally right by the beach, so the atmosphere is laid-back and exactly what you want from a beach bar & grill. The patio is a big plus, and I love that they allow dogs out there. It's also family friendly. There's a sandy playground area for kids, which makes a huge difference when you're trying to actually sit down and enjoy a meal with little ones. Grab some food and drinks while the kids play. Food and drinks were reasonably priced, especially considering the location. Nothing overly fancy, but everything was good.

The salad looked like something I could've made at home in 4 minutes, but I'll give them their flowers--the vinaigrette was actually GOOD. Overall, this feels like Mike's cousin who went to Temu instead of college. The water view is beautiful, there's plenty of parking, and those are probably the strongest selling points. Unfortunately, he's the only fan. I feel sooo bad being so critical so I'll make it quick. The decor/ambience is so uncomfortably in need of renovation (the wood paneling, sectional seating, and carpet, for starters). They're known for their crab cakes which did NOT disappoint (according to those who ordered them) and TWO THUMBS UP on the salad bar ... which we ALL absolutely appreciated. However, the other food was mediocre and the attached pics prove the simple, low effort, dive-bar quality. It wasn't a total wash tho'! Their portions are respectable. The birthday boy LOVED the carrot cake buttt, the scallops, green beans, crab dip and fried chicken were declared unseasoned and the rockfish bites (strips) were salty. The Chardonnay had vinegar undertones. The Tito's shot was $20 but this is not the type of establishment which can justify charging that! I'm going to stop there because I totally respect their long-standing "pillar of the community, local landmark, generational longevity" claim to fame. This is the kind of meal your mom would cook for, like, a graduation dinner, or if she was trying to impress someone. I've never had a bad meal here, but the crab cakes are the best in Maryland. I know everyone thinks they know where the best crab cakes are, but they are wrong, because the Edgewater Restaurant has them - a softball of jumbo lump crab meat, perfectly broiled with very few added ingredients so the crab shines through. All of the meals come with 2 sides of your choice, including potatoes served at least 3 different ways and a salad bar that isn't even trying to be healthy. We arrived to a mostly empty restaurant with lots of available seating...or so we thought. After waiting several minutes at the front before the hostess returned to seat us, we were taken to a booth that was imminently next to other guests and were informed the next both over, entire row near the back and the entire row next to the patio were reserved (for a parties that didn't arrive the entire time we were there) when we asked if anywhere else was available. Avoid the air fried chicken products - the chicken tenders and chicken sandwich were both paper thin and extremely dry. Our server seemed as though she would rather be anywhere else than serving our table, food was delivered by someone in a "chef's" coat, drinks were refilled by another server who happened to be walking by and noticed our glasses were empty and a manger checked in on us (who we shared our concerns with and who offered a replacement option) all while our server took care of another table, or sat in a private dining room at the back of the restaurant chatting with other staff. As for the ambiance - there really isn't any other than open and bright? Maybe it's better later in the evening or on the weekend, but as far as week nights - it's fairly mainstream. We keep returning to True Food as the healthier option hoping that the service, food quality and execution will someday match the price and location; however, this was likely our last experience.

The 1st of 2 was Metropolitan Kitchen & Lounge, which I visited on Sunday, January 8, 2023. I visited another time coincidentally also in January on Friday, January 31, 2020. January 2020 visit: My girlfriend of that time & I ended that month on 1/31/20 on a bad note, a huge fight. I won't get into details, but it was a rough night later in the night. The night started well. We drove from my apartment in Wheaton to here to see my girlfriend's friend's band play here. Metropolitan is relatively small, but on 2 levels. The 1st level is the restaurant while the 2nd level has a small stage & viewing area and bar area in a somewhat separated room. We watched her friend play, which had decent acoustics. After her show, we eventually got around to ordering food kind of on the late side. I got a burger, which was solid. She might've too. They also had free promotional drinks given by the alcohol company. I may have had a beer too. I was a bit tipsy. She was ready to go, and I said I need more time as I'm not quite ready to drive. She was kind of mean that night calling me a lightweight and things escalated from there. January 2023 visit: Circumstances were less bad than the January 2020 night, but it wasn't an ideal day either. Earlier in the day, my friend agreed to play games near her church at the IHOP. Her church was very close to the Bowie IHOP. I waited a while, and she had driven to Gambrills location saying how she doesn't feel safe eating in PG County. I was very annoyed with her and said I just came from that way, ultimately was going to a dinner later in Annapolis (here at Metropolitan), and booked a movie at AMC Annapolis before the dinner. She replied back apologizing and was already en route to Annapolis from Bowie. After my movie, I arrived for a Meetup group on that Sunday night at Metropolitan. It was a Lobster special that night, the catalyst for the host of the Meetup picking the place. When I arrived, I realized this was the same place I had that huge fight with my ex 3 years earlier, so it brought back bad memories. We were on the lower level restaurant area. I think almost everyone from the Meetup got the lobster special. Service was good. Lobster was solid as was the broccoli & potatoes. Although it was tasty, I was hungry not all that much later after I had gotten home that night. So, while the "deal" was cheaper than the standard price, it still was by no means cheap and to be hungry like 3 hours later was annoying. In summary, in spite of some bad memories, the food was good as was the service. I wouldn't rule this place out as an option.

To be fair, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly, and that's the only reason this isn't one star. We ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and the pepperoni pizza, and they were easily the worst pizzas I've ever had. The crust tasted like cardboard: dry, crunchy with no snap or chew, and completely flavorless. The pepperoni tasted like nothing. There was barely any sauce, and both pies were flat and bland from edge to center. I have never left a restaurant without finishing my meal, and tonight I didn't even try. The potato pancake appetizer was no better. It had a sour aftertaste that made us push it aside after a bite or two. I genuinely don't understand the hype. The staff deserve a kitchen that matches their effort, but based on this visit I can't recommend the food, and I won't be back for pizza.
