These were the broiled scallops they didn't clean
    Mia A.

Service was not ideal vibes to say the least. They brought us bread in a bowl because they said they ran out of small bread plates. Cold butter. Crab dip was just hot mayonnaise with cheese. They took forever to bring the broiled scallops out but left the little tough tail on so they didn't really clean them and they look unappealing with a sprinkle of paprika for flavor lol smh who eats here fr?! Not for me. The best thing were the mozzarella sticks they were so good lol like they had seasoning in them lol that's crazy they were the best thing

Been a couple of years since I have been here but dang the food and service is still top notch. The seafood is so fresh and the place is quaint and full of charm. I have got to start coming back here on the regular. Love this place!!!!!

Yummy. Get the lump crab cake broiled. Each bite is a chunk of lump crab meat.

Food was delish. Service was excellent. The lump crab cakes were chunked full of lump. Wow! Hardly any filler to speak of. We will definitely be back. Soooo good!

Single crabcake dinner. Came with 2 sides. I chose fries and salad bar.

Amazing crab cakes! They are full of lump crabmeat without fillers. The house cut fries are delicious. Crab dip was just ok- too much cheese, filler, cream cheese. But everyone enjoyed their meals.

We had an amazing night celebrating my boyfriend's 50th birthday at the Edgewater restaurant!! we walked in without a reservation. It was only four of us, but were seated right away, and our waitress was very attentive. She was the granddaughter of the owner and suggested a few dishes to us, which we definitely listen to her and order the crab imperial and my boyfriend and his roommate ordered The twin rock lobster tails which were stuffed with crab imperial!! we very much enjoyed our appetizers as well. We ordered the muscles which were steamed in white wine ,butter, and garlic. The restaurant is like stepping back in time, which I really enjoyed

This hidden gem looks like a house so you will definitely miss it if you're driving fast. Once you're inside you're immediately greeted by one of the staff and seated. Everyone is so friendly and you feel at home. There is a little table showing desserts(stay away until you get your food) it's deliciously presented and tempting. I ordered the double crab cakes with stewed tomatoes and all I can say is OMG! The picture doesn't do it justice! Not only was it delicious it was HUGE! I have the second one for lunch today! I had a lemonade to drink but there is a full bar. This is a place I would come to again and again just for the ambiance and the food! packed with lump crabmeat but it was seasoned well. My friend had the blackened stuffed Rockfish and that didn't disappointed our taste buds(could've had a little more seasoning) but overall it was delicious! They do have a small salad bar (I didn't partake) but it looked fresh and I did see it replenished a few times while we were there.

Date Night! His favorite spot... never heard of it! Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside, kinda out dated inside. The typical neighborhood spot. Friday night was a full house. The main area packed. That's a good sign that the food was going to be great! Absolutely. Delicious. Service, Great. Starters: Cream of Crab Soup? I'm not a soup fan but this was flavorful and FULL of lumps of sweet crab. Rockfish fingers? Fried strips of rockfish with a Cajun dipping sauce. Onions rings? So light an tasty not greasy at all. OMGoodness I could have stopped there but WHY?! I had the seafood plater broiled. Gigantic scallops, steamed shrimp, STUFFED SHRIMP, fried clams. The only thing that didn't make me feel loved was the twiced baked potato. Flat out NO. Don't get it. Get the fries. Fresh cut and delish. The fried stuffed shrimp were awesome as well. The green beans were pretty darn tasty in my opinion. Not over cooked or over seasoned. Coleslaw isn't offered as a side but was available on the salad which was very small but everything was fresh. It was very crowded, so an obvious choice by the regulars. We opted for the home made cup cakes for dessert to go because there was no way we could've eaten another single thing! This place might not have all the visual effects but it lacks absolutely nothing when it comes to amazing seafood. Ridiculous sized portions. Great wait staff. Definitely worth another visit.

This is a family owned and operated restaurant. It is not a fancy place. In fact, the place looked outdated but the service and food made up for lackluster appearance of the place. We started with the cream of crab (option to add sherry and old bay - a must). Delicious. We loved the soup so much, we ordered another bowl to go. We also got fried pork chops. These had good flavors but a little disappointed that it was not crispy. Of course we also got the double boiled lump crab cakes with two sides. The crabcakes were huge and no fillers. It could used just a little more seasoning. The salad bar is one of the side option. It's not a huge salad bar but had the basic items. The fried okra was perfectly fried. I didn't care for the string beans. However, overall this was a nice dinner out.

Coconut Joe's -- 5 Stars Because Nikki Ran the Bar Like Mission Control…read more Walked into Coconut Joe's expecting a basic lunch, left emotionally supported, hydrated, and full of crab. Ordered a Caesar salad tossed with bacon, because if you're not putting pork in your salad, what are you even doing? Cold, crisp, dressed like it was taking headshots for its modeling portfolio. Then the cream of crab soup showed up -- thick, seasoned, real chunks of crab, not that mystery-flake stuff. It was the kind of soup that makes you stop mid-conversation and reevaluate life. Washed everything down with an orange crush, which went down so easy it should come with a seatbelt. But the real star of the whole visit was Nikki behind the bar. Let me be clear: Nikki ran that bar like NASA counting down to a launch. Full bar of people, drinks flying, food landing, and somehow she made it feel like I was the only one sitting there. Every empty glass was just a short-term inconvenience. Every ask was handled before I even finished the sentence.

She was pregnant and was literally the hardest worker in there! It was busy and I did have to go to the bar to get help but when I said "excuse me" I was rudely told to "hang on" by the bartender. I just walked around and got what I needed, super rude girl BUT our waitress was so nice it really made up for it. Red Flag forgiven! Let's get into it! Deviled Eggs - Really Good! Crab cake - Delicious! It's hard for me to agree to a crab cake being good, this one was it! Drinks - Great! The other half agrees, we will be back! Not quite 5 stars for me - I'm intricate when it comes to my observations, some plates were chipped, the appetizer ones specifically on our visit. Unfortunately, he's the only fan. I feel sooo bad being so critical so I'll make it quick. The decor/ambience is so uncomfortably in need of renovation (the wood paneling, sectional seating, and carpet, for starters). They're known for their crab cakes which did NOT disappoint (according to those who ordered them) and TWO THUMBS UP on the salad bar ... which we ALL absolutely appreciated. However, the other food was mediocre and the attached pics prove the simple, low effort, dive-bar quality. It wasn't a total wash tho'! Their portions are respectable. The birthday boy LOVED the carrot cake buttt, the scallops, green beans, crab dip and fried chicken were declared unseasoned and the rockfish bites (strips) were salty. The Chardonnay had vinegar undertones. The Tito's shot was $20 but this is not the type of establishment which can justify charging that! I'm going to stop there because I totally respect their long-standing "pillar of the community, local landmark, generational longevity" claim to fame. I know everyone thinks they know where the best crab cakes are, but they are wrong, because the Edgewater Restaurant has them - a softball of jumbo lump crab meat, perfectly broiled with very few added ingredients so the crab shines through. All of the meals come with 2 sides of your choice, including potatoes served at least 3 different ways and a salad bar that isn't even trying to be healthy. I wanted to confirm that the crawfish was fresh and not frozen. I had noticed in some previous order that food didn't taste fresh. You have the option to select cat fish or rock fish (selected the rock). I also got Cajun boiled that comes with potato, shrimp, corn. I included three orders of the crawfish in the boil.
