I'm very picky about my nails, and for the past 7 years I've been going to Crystal Nails in Fairfax because the do the resin dip that I love. However, they've undergone some major staff changes and the last time I went there the woman rushed through my full set and I left there VERY unhappy. So I decided to find a place closer to home.. Eden Nails is great! I've gotten my eyebrows done here a bunch of times already--they're very gentle, quick but very thorough. I'm always happy with the results when I leave. I also have gotten a full set and a fill here, and I have to say I'm very satisfied! I was attracted to the resin dip method because the look was thin and natural, but decided to go back to acrylic in hopes of finding somebody who could achieve the same look. Well--I found it! My nails have looked fabulous every time I've left this place, and the staff is so friendly! The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the pedicure. They did a great job with my toenails, but the "massage" was less then "eh." For some reason, my friend and I both got the bones on the top of our feet massaged more than anywhere else and trust me--as a bartender, that's not where I need it! My feet looked great when I left though! I'd also like to point out that this place is very clean! There is a nice separate room for pedicures and all of their files and tools come out of a sterilized bag every time I've come here. I have to say--I'm impressed! Let me start off by saying I am VERY picky when it comes to nail salons and had been to several others in the area before finding this little place. I was referred by my mom who said she loved this salon and, honestly, by first glance I was a bit skeptical. DO NOT let looks deceive you! I absolutely LOVE this place! They give the best gel manicures I've ever had (no chipping, lasted awhile and they certainly go above and beyond with the extra massages, hot towels, etc.) I also had the best pedicure experience here too and was pleasantly surprised to see that they just ordered all new chairs that are extremely comfortable. I've officially made this my go-to salon and I usually ask for Leeva - she's awesome! The only negative thing I would say is that they can get pretty crowded on the weekends, but if anything it's because they're THAT good. I will usually call ahead and make an appointment which solves that problem right away! read more

I arrived close to 7:40, and they close at 8. A little reluctant, but two remaining technicians tag teamed a gel mani and regular pedi in record time. The gel they use is "1st generation" in a jar, not a nail polish bottle like I'm used to seeing, but she applied it like a pro, my nails look beautiful. They have a lot of colors to pick from, and they have matching gel and regular polish for nails and toes. They have a 10% off sign out front, honoring 10% off all services, but the price tag is still a little pricey for Gainesville. Total bill tallied $63 for gel mani and regular pedi with a removal of last gel color too. I tipped well given that I'm always the last jerk that wants service real close to closing (sorry kelly and Bebe for keeping them past closing!) but I'd return if I were in the area and in need of a nail job. read more

It has been over a year since I got a pedicure and my feet have never felt so good. The lady who did my toes did an amazing job. She was also very nice to talk to and I will definitely be going back. The pedicure was only $25 & they accept VISA & Mastercard. They also take walk ins and when I went in yesterday (Tuesday) around 10 am they only had one person there also getting a pedicure. I'm not one who treats myself to pedicures very often so for me this place was perfect, simple and what I expected with a massage chair and nice people. read more

What separates them from the rest are a hands on owner, an extremely personable staff that will greet you by name, high quality product, and the legitimate desire to actually have their clientele leave happy in hopes they will return (I'm sure most do, because they're just that good). I walked in Thursday afternoon before Memorial Day weekend on my way to a wedding and they took me right away. Lily did my pedicure and she was amazing. I always do French tips and had torn half my big toe off the day before and she did a great job making it look decent with French tips. I had gotten a pedicure a few weeks prior and the girl rounded my nails which looked horrible and Lily did a great job working with the remnants of that as well. This was my first time to Eden Nails. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to give them a try. Upon arriving the place looked pretty clean, but I had to laugh at the dated leather couches in the reception area. After only waiting for a few minutes I was brought back. I was attempting to take off my UV gel nails (from another nail salon) and get a manicure. It took the work of two people to get the gel nails off. The manicurist that work the most with me was Ci. She was wonderful! Patient and understanding. She tried a few different tricks before having to resort to using the acetone warming machine, but finally got it off. Although my real nails are very soft, she was careful and took her time with the manicure. They came out looking great! I will DEFINITELY be going back! read more

After reading reviews ono yelp, I decided to try Leeva at Eden Nails to get gel nails put on. It was a wonderful experience. Leeva called me because she was running beyond so I wouldn't have to wait when I arrived. She explained all my options to me thoroughly and she has perfect English so I understood the process. She was used powder gel and they turned out wonderful. I would definitely recommend Leeva and plan to go there from now on. read more

Finally a nail salon I feel comfortable going to! I chose Eden because of the reviews here on Yelp. I've been to a handful of salons in the Gainesville area and all of them were disappointing. I'm freaked about germs and fungus in salons and I was happy to see these ladies pulled fresh tools out of sealed plastic when I came in for my pedicure. They didn't shave my nails too close to the cuticle either... which happens a lot and results in in-grown nails that hurt for weeks. The staff was always smiling and they not only did a great job, but they did a great job in fast time too! I tipped 20% and I never tip 20% to nail techs. I was very pleased with Leeva and Cici on a couple of visits. Leeva was great with gel manicures. Cici was great with pedicures. After a couple of visits, I was very disappointed of how the manicurists gossiped about their customers! (Yes, I know Vietnamese!) As I sat there and listened to how they called people "crazy", and "devils" I was very upset. Another manicurist said that i was a whiner and very needy (all i did was ask my tech which color looked better and to shaped my nails square). She literally told other manicurists that I am a whiner every time I came in! Too bad i didn't get her name, but she sits at the first table on the right facing the door. I am so happy that i finally found another salon where people are not being called different names, the price is lower, and my manicurist took her time!! read more

This salon does not understand the meaning of doing honest business. I came in with my aunt after seeing good reviews on yelp. I received a mani/pedi and she opted for a full set of acrylic nails. At first she wanted a mani/pedi but decided on a full set of acrylics. This was made clear to TWO of the nail techs more than once. The nail tech began cleaning up her nails as one would do a regular mani (nail clipping, cuticle clipping, lotion, etc). She did maybe FIVE minutes of work on her hands before she tried to apply nail polish directly to her nails. She politely said that she wanted acrylics, not a manicure. The nail tech proceeded to berate her in front of the entire salon, to the point I could here her all the way from the back where I was getting my pedicure. She constantly was rudely saying "You said a mani! That is what you told me! I asked you what you wanted!". She demanded that my aunt pay an extra FIFTEEN dollars for merely cleaning up her nails. Mind you, a regular mani costs $15.30 here with the 10% off sign they have outside. She was being charged for a full manicure due to the miscommunication on the NAIL TECH'S behalf. My aunt did not want to cause a scene and ended up paying the extra 15 begrudgingly. When a customer comes in for a $42 service, you don't humiliate them because you misheard. And you certainly don't charge them an outrageous price because of your mistake and you sure as hell don't yell at them in the salon to the point every client in there could hear you scolding a paying customer. My mani/pedi was okay, but certainly overpriced. I will never return to this salon again for how embarrassed I was afterward. To bring in a family member who is visiting from out of state and tell them "hey this salon has good reviews, let's try it" and then have them be humiliated and overcharged is absolutely unacceptable. She ended up paying around $56. Completely outrageous. Lastly, the nail techs who weren't working on clients were lounging on couches eating chips and had food all over the customer waiting area's coffee table. This place is a disgrace. read more

The salon is clean and the employees are friendly and professional. However, I am giving a low rating because this was mine and my sister's first time visiting this salon (I was in the area visiting her) - my gel manicure lasted barely one week. My gel manicure started chipping within 4 days; I have never had gel chip that quickly. (One of the reasons I get gel manicures is because they last so long.) My sister's gel pedicure wasn't cured properly under the UV lights and her pedicure ended up extremely lumpy and bubbled. The nail technician immediately noticed the problem, but had to start the process all over. We ended up staying for another 45 minutes. We won't be going back - there are tons of other nail salons in the area to visit. read more

Based on largely good reviews, my daughter and I went in today for spa pedicures, and my daughter also got a French manicure. What a great experience! The entire staff was very friendly, professional and accommodating. The instruments were individually packaged, which I really appreciated. I found the prices to be more than reasonable as well. We both opted to add the hot stones for a mere $5 more per person. I just love heat, so I didn't mind the nominal additional charge. My technician, Nancy, really took her time trimming and shaping my toe claws, and did a thorough and satisfying job with the massage and polish. She really paid attention to my individual needs (like my right foot gets much more calloused than my left, so she adjusted her approach accordingly). My daughter's technician, Vy, used the same amount of care with the pedi, but what really made her stand out was the French manicure. Amazing attention to detail, and for the first time ever, my daughter was actually thrilled with her French mani. She has been known to smile politely at the salon, only to immediately remove the polish upon returning home. Yea - home run in my book. There was a steady stream of clientele, many of whom were clearly regulars, so I was glad we had made appointments in advance so we had to wait no more than a few minutes. Some walk-ins waited as long as 40 minutes, but they waited nonetheless which speaks volumes in my book. Two minor drawbacks (neither of which was enough for me to downgrade my 5 star rating): the pedi chairs were not, for me, entirely comfortable, and I think that more than just a quick clean with Fantastick in the foot baths is needed in between clients. I'm assuming they get a good scrub at the end of the day because they really were clean, and believe me I inspected them. We are new regulars! Thank you ladies for a great afternoon. read more

Ridiculous prices! They charge extra for every little thing done to your nails. If they are going to charge that much they shouldn't do sub par work! Then if you're disagreeing with something they did they talk about you in Vietnamese. It doesn't matter if you speak english or another language you know when a shop is speaking negatively towards you because you disagreed on something they did. I happen to stop in Eden Nails by chance on the way home. I have to say that I was very disappointed. i got there late (30 minutes before closing) but did ask if it was better to only get a pedicure instead of mani/pedi. I apoligized for getting there late and even asked if I should come the following day. They agreed to do both. I understand everyone wants to leave their job and go home, but this was not a very pleasant experience. I also work very long hours and was looking forward to relaxing for just a short period and getting the spa-like feeling that I've had at other salons. I felt like I was imposing and had someone working on my hands and someone else on my feet. I do wish I remembered the names of the ladies...one woman was very polite while the other barely looked at me. It was a huge rush and I felt like I was overcharged at $36. The worst part is that by the time I got home I realized that two of my toes were smudged and on top of it, my manicure didn't even last 2 days. It is one week later and my hands look like they weren't touched. I used to go for regular mani/pedis and do know that a good job will at least have your cuticles looking healthy and your nails should somewhat be in shape after only a week! I don't have a chance to go as regularly as I once did, that's what makes it even more aggrivating. I normally don't write reviews and have never been someone to complain, but I'm spending my money and expect more than what I got here. I have worked in different jobs over the years and customer service and sales has been a big part of my career. I have been in a position where I wanted to go home and wanted the day to end, but I've taken a deep breath and always remembered that I am making a lasting impression on how I treat people and this indicates whether or not I will keep a relationship and long term business partnership. I as told the wait time was 15 minutes. I was taken to the back after some time & left in the foot bath for over an hour before anyone came by to begin the pedi. She didn't listen to what I requested, didn't apply lotion, or give a quick massage. It was the worst pedi ever. The French pedi was crescent shaped. :( I've gone there for years & knew the wait time was an issue, but was willing to overlook it. Some girls there are talented & a few are not. I've lived in Haymarket for over ten years. Prior to that I live in Centreville and went to a salon called Bella for at least ten years. The manicurist I saw was Amy and she was fantastic. Lots of attention to detail and my pedicure was flawless and lasted at least 2 weeks. I get callouses from running and Amy was not afraid to use a blade; many salons do not use a blade and if they do they seem afraid of it. Not Amy and she knew just how much to take off and where. Well, Amy left Bella almost two years ago and since then I have tried at least 7 salons. There is nobody as good as Amy. Now granted; I have natural nails and never get color on my hands, just on my feet. She does a great job of trimming the dry skin and cuticles which I always seem to have an abundance of. In any case; I got stuck in traffic on route 29 in Gainesville. I couldn't take it and turned off into the shopping strip (can't see the Eden salon from the road). I decided to try there. Imagine my surprise when the first person I saw was my beloved Amy! I made an appt and came back 30 minutes later and it was like old times again. She had taken a break from the salon business and then went here because she knew the owner. I got a mani/pedi and the price was $36- very good price and best of all- I found the best manicurist in all of Northern VA and hope I never lose her again! Seriously, it got so bad that I quit going to salons for six months and had resorted to doing my own pedicure- I could never do my own nails on my hands so you can bet they were short. I like the salon; they have new chairs and since it was a Tuesday they were not busy at all. I'm just thankful I found Amy again- if you go there- ask for her- her only day off is Thursday (yes, she's so good that she always has business). I have read the comments about them speaking natively to each other; I've gone to many salons and even at Bella they do the same thing, but it doesn't bother me; I just hope they are saying nice things about me. :) read more
