    3. Hot and Sour Soup
    Debra M.

The only positive thing about this order of food was the fried Dumplings. There was a generous portion (8) and the filling was scrumptious. That's the extent of what I enjoyed. I ordered 58. Hot & Spicy Chicken (medium heat) and it was not at all spicy and mostly onions. There were a few flat pieces of chicken but an overwhelming amount of onions. I ate very little and pitched the rest. The Hot & Sour Soup was neither hot nor sour and had some odd, squishy mushroom? tops floating on it. I found zero tofu and the broth was just bland. The Chicken fried rice was anemic, all a whitish beige with no sign of veg or chicken. I barely tasted it. The Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce were actually dripping with a thin, slightly peanutty-sesame sauce. It was bland and the consistency of milk. This was an expensive meal to throw away but there was no way I could eat it.

Beef was undercooked rice didn't taste good Both dishes were bland.

From my first and last experience: Food was terrible and not as ordered. I ordered chicken with cashew extra extra extra spicy. No spice was added, fried rice was supposed to be vegetable friend rice and wasn't and it tasted terrible. Ordered broccoli and beef - beef was undercook and rice tasted terrible. Chicken wings (8) taste was terrible and chicken was double battered and had parts that had that grayish color as if it was sitting out for a whole, Eggroll was mushy on the inside, This was all discovered in less than 10 mins (would have to go back and look at actual time) after Doorsash delivered. I called Eddie Cheng establishment immediately and got no answer. I drive to the location and got there at 9:28 and the place was closed. Sign says they close at 10pm. I called today, a little after noon and was told I should have kept the food to return it, I explained since i immediately went to Taco Bell I wasn't going to keep the food. Credit card company will see this as well. I told him it was tossed in the trash in Richfield at my friend place and I live about 20 mins away in another city. He told me to tell my friend to bring it back even after I told him I trashed it. I have now driven back to my friends place to recover when I for a refund. I will dispute this with the credit card company if not reimbursed for the full amount, DoorDash called at 9:08 for drop off Takes about 3 mins to walk to front of building Called Eddie Cheng at 9:19 Arrived at Eddie Cheng at 9:28 (Eddie Cheng is about a five minute drive from where food was dropped off). Eddie Cheng was closed. Sign says they close at 10pm. When on the phone with unidentified individual he said they close every night at 9:20pm. I suggested they update their website and maybe not take orders 45 mins before closing to allow customers to time to look over purchased items. The employee, from my personal opinion still continues to gaslight me.

This was very disappointing after reading better reviews by some elites . The fried rice was extremely bland . Thankfully the rice was cooked well . The beef short ribs were chewy and flavorless. Definitely wouldn't recommend them at all . The egg rolls had little filling and could even tell what was in them . Lastly the crab Rangoon were just cream cheese filled at best. I wish we woulda just stopped at Perkins down the street . I won't return . I'll add watching the cook carry out fryer grease out the front door while waiting for my order was a huge turnoff .

Make sure when you call to place a take out order. That you tell whoever your ordering with to REPEAT THE ORDER BACK TO YOU. I did not order any chicken wings just crab ragoons and Mongolian beef chow mein and I get charged for a order of chicken wings that I did not even agree to place. I know mistakes happen but this was just annoying.

Hot and fresh food at a good price. I always order in person and wait for it to be cooked fresh.

In…read morere-reading my reviews, I stand by everything I've said about the excellent consistent quality of the food, the service, and how much I enjoy coming to this restaurant. I truly hope they are around longer than I am. I would hate to find out this was one of the choices no longer available to us. Please read my previous reviews for a more inclusive view; this review focuses only on their lobster. I had previously mentioned that they prices of their lobsters (I love the version with black bean sauce) have gone up tremendously. While true, there seems to have been a subtle change in their pricing strategy. Previously (as of before the pandemic), the lobster was priced by the pound, which is the conventional way of doing it. However, they seem to have two lobster prices. The first one is called "Big Lobster" and they say it's between 2 and 2 and half pounds per lobster. The price of that (as of this review) is $56 dollars, or $28 per pound. That's not really a bad price at all. It's expensive, but reasonable. The other lobster is called "Live Lobster" and is priced $10 less at $46. So the real question is how much does this second version weigh? I ordered the Big Lobster, but they said they were out of it. I asked the weight of the "Live Lobster" but I didn't really get a straight answer, but he seemed to say "about two pounds" which doesn't really make sense because that's the price of the larger, more expensive lobster. But I decided to go for it anyway. As I stated in my last review, I'm guessing this lobster is at least two pounds, based on many years of eating lobster. For this review, I had ChatGPT translate the the Chinese on the menu, thinking it was secret code for "if you can read Chinese, save ten dollars by ordering this version" but AI says the Chinese means "lobster" so if you spoke Chinese, you'd still be mystified. So my recommendation is order the version that is ten dollars cheaper and you may (or may not) be paying $23 a pound. Price aside, I love this version of lobster and it is certainly a better deal than what you would pay at an American style seafood or steak restaurant in the Twin Cities.

It was nice visiting and enjoying some of our previously go-to dishes. The soft shell crab made with golden garlic style was as delicious as I remembered, although at a much higher price now ($44+) for the dish. The seafood soup was a nice start to our meal, would have been even better if they had red vinegar. The mapo tofu and eggplant dishes that we ordered ended up being very similar in taste/sauce/seasoning but still pretty good. The service was pretty fast and the staff was friendly.

I ordered the Stir Fry Spicy Beef, Mapo Tofu, and the Pork Belly. Everything was tasty and have no complaints as far as the actual flavors. I do think that the Mapo Tofu should always be soft tofu rather than firm, but that's just a personal preference. The beef was plentiful and extra tender and the pork belly was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth, so good that I felt like I had to ration it throughout the next few meals. I do wish it came with more rice. I ordered three sides and only got one box of rice. I was hoping to have at least two so I can eat it for several days. However, to end on a positive note, when I walked in to pick up my order, the woman (owner possibly) was incredibly friendly and spoke Mandarin to me. She was welcoming, funny, and we briefly argued how spicy food should really be for it to be enjoyable. "The spicier the better," me thinks. Come show these guys some love!

My mouth explodes with flavor. Every time. Hot pot, hot pot. In my gastronomical journey through life, Chinese hot pot is possibly my greatest encounter. And locally, it's Le Pot. Best broth bases - mala spicy, pork bone, and Tom yum are endorsed by me and my girlfriend Great foodstuffs - qual egg, udon noodles, good fatty beef, crab sticks, good old cabbage, tofu, bean curd, enoki mushroom etc - Lamb and pork are alright at this location, could be better Great sauce bar, as I can assemble my staples - Sauce 1: black vinegar, chili oil with flake, garlic oil with garlic, sesame oil, scallions, cilantro (about equal parts and adjust); season with sugar, salt and soy sauce if desired - Sauce 2: lots of sesame paste, and leave as is or maybe add scallions, chili oil, sesame seed **I do wish they had chive paste** - Sauce 3: Oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, cilantro, green onion, black vinegar Value - it's like 30-35 dollars a person here. - I often leave more satisfied here than I do after a "fancy" night on the north loop What's missing - ambiance is okay - I do like a huge communal pot - Chive flower paste - Pork and lamb could be better - Broths are good, but I like the Chicago restaurants best Local hot pot honorable mentions - the place at Asia Mall with the electric rack innovation - Legendary Spice - you are free to grab a tray and raid their fridges/freezers for whatever meat, vegetable, etc you want.
