We purchased a new truck and found it was pulling to the left. We took it in for repairs and when we got it back it still pulled. We took it in again this time they needed a part for the steering column. It took over night and it was to be ready the next morning. At 2 we called and they said it would be ready in 30 minutes. We were there in an hour. We waited another hour and 15 min. They kept telling my boyfriend to sit down and be quiet. They told him it was out in a test drive and we saw it leave the lot 5 min later. My BF caught them talking about him and laughing about him. We left without the truck it was not ready. Nobody called us to pick up the truck. We finally called two days later and were able to pick it up. This place sucks. read more

Whittmeier is a sad excuse for a car dealer. I have had numerous bad experiences there and every time I ask myself why I ever step foot on the grounds again. The first time they lost my keys when looking at my car for a trade in appraisal. Never found them... But yesterday tipped me over the edge. Had to bring my car in for a recall at the service center, so I decided to walk around and browse the inventory. Immediately one of the salesmen cornered us, pulled a truck out and asked us to test drive it. I said sure why not. Figured it would kill time while I was waiting. When we returned he went and got another salesman whom was supposed to know more about the truck than him. The one he got was an absolute joke. I told him from the get go there was absolutely no way in the whole world I would buy a 60,000 dollar truck! He kept mocking me and almost making fun of me? I asked him for a break down of how much an estimate payment would even be on something like that, next thing I know we're inside and he's trying to run my credit?! Why run credit for an estimated payment?!?! After about an hour going round and round with this fool he finally told me I was wasting his time and why would I have even told him that I would buy the truck?! I never said I would buy the truck! Ridiculous. I could go on for hours. I loathe Whittmeier. I will never ever recommend them and I will drive to any other dealer even for maintenance on my car to avoid them. Horrible horrible place! read more

The latest: I've consistently been disappointed with Wittmeier's customer service. The check-in process is terrible. No one greets you, there are no signs pointing one to where one needs to check in. And when I awkwardly stood by the Ford rep's desk waiting for him to finish with someone there was never an acknowledgement that I was there waiting. For the 20 minutes from when I arrived I was never once greeted by anyone telling me that there is a short wait. I've also been disappointed by appointment times. In the past I've made an appointment at 7:30am for simple service that should have taken just an hour or two but been told that the car probably wouldn't be ready until the evening. For simple service? What's the purpose of appointment times then? I figure it should be like the doctor--you come at the appointment time and you have a decent expectation that the car will be taken in around that time and that it should last a certain amount of time. My expectations have been lowered each time I go to Wittmeier. The only reason I went there this time was because there was a recall out on the vehicle. read more

Ugh.. horrible.. terrible experience. My fiance and I went to Wittmeier a week ago to look at getting a used car. Yes, used car dealers are usually tough to deal with in the first place, but this was absolutely ridiculous. First of all... my fiance has the type of credit that creditors drool over. They really missed out. So we were walking around and without giving us any time to look around, we were approached by our first salesman. He was nice enough at first, like they all are. He took us around, tried to introduce us to some stupidly priced autos that we weren't even really interested in. Finally we test drove a Honda. My fiance was very interested in it, but he's a level headed guy and doesn't jump into decisions like this. Smart right? Well car dealers hate this. We wanted to leave and talk about it, I asked the salesman for his card. The first red flag was that he had to go get his card.... really? You don't just have one in your pocket? So I started walking toward our car to leave, but my fiance was.. well... attacked by a second salesman. Instead of the guy we were dealing with coming back with his card... we were bombarded by a new guy who we could only assume was the "closer". He was incredibly rude, condescending, pushy.. all the worst things car dealers can be. My fiance was immediately turned off, but he could not break away from this jerk. The salesman said he could get my fiance the price he wanted, but needed to run his credit first. We know he just wanted to get us in the building. The salesman went into the dealership to go make sure he could get that price because my fiance refused to let them run his credit until he was sure about the purchase. At this time, my fiance came to me and we started to leave because this was our only chance. We were steps away from our car and the first salesman we dealt with was running after us.... REALLY?? Talk about hostage situation. He said that he could get the price we wanted, my fiance was so furious about how he was treated by the "closer" that he didn't even care. Our first salesman apologized that he had to send the other guy out, but that's what they make them do if they don't sell a car fast enough. I felt bad for him because his employers are obviously more interested in the bottom line than the happiness of their employees. I apologized that his time was wasted, and told him that he might have had the sale if he hadn't sent out the second guy. We don't respond well to pressure, or being talked down to. You lost a dang good sale, Wittmeier. Change your tactics.. we went to another local place and had a fantastic experience. Even spent more than we were willing to at your place because we were treated SO WELL. read more

I took my small class c Ford motorhome out of storage to Wittmeier to fix a safety recall problem and do 'the works' package they had on special. I called to make an appointment and was told to bring it in between 2 and 3 pm. They didn't want my name which was odd. I came into the service area and went to 3 desks before I got the right person as there is no clear signage to direct you to the service writer. The service writer told me they couldn't do the tire rotation part of the works because I have a dually. I told him ok but please check the air because it's been in storage and I'm taking it to the coast. I said I'm a widow and I'm going to do this on my own so I want it safe. Service writer said everything looked good but they couldn't air the inside tires because they don't have the right tool. Really? A Ford dealership service department can't service a dually? He suggested I take it to Les Schwab and they would do it free. On the way home the tires still didn't feel right to me so I had my son in law look at them and the front tire was separating from weather exposure while in storage. He wanted me to drive it to Les Schwab slowly and hope I got there without a blow-out because it was so bad. I could have been killed driving to the coast! Well Les Scwab got my business to the tune of 6 new tires. Wittmeier rated 0. Les Schwab 5 stars! read more

Thought we would drive through the lot after diner to cruise though and look at a Ford F-250 platinum. We were driving slowly through the lot and we were literally just CHASED down by a salesperson who runs his hand along my car, we stop, I roll down my window and he says "we don't really drive through our lot". I rolled up my window and told him we were outta there. I guess they didn't want to sell a $70k truck. That's the second time we've had a bad experience here. We won't be back to even look. read more

We just got our second vehicle within a month with the help of "Joe' at Ed Wittmeier Ford. We hate to haggle prices with salespeople, but at Wittmeier, they make it a breeze! We were in and out in no time! Great vehicle at a fair price! What more can you ask for? Thanks to Joe and the Wittmeier team for getting us in this great 2018 Ford Raptor! I made a appointment for general service on my auto the day before. When I arrived before my scheduled appointment, my service tech was busy, though three other service techs seemed available. I waited for almost 30 minutes till I needed to leave for a doctor appointment. Ashley was very apologetic and encouraged me to return after my doctor appointment. I returned 1 1/2 hours later. There was a gentleman in front of me waiting for service. Fifteen minutes went my when the gentleman asked the cashier if anyone was available to help him, apparently not because he stormed out and left. There I was waiting, I waited a good 10-15 minutes before I decide to leave. When I went to by car, 3 service techs where in the driveup bay talking about the gentleman who had just stormed out. I was able to get there attention and informed them of my wait time and was planning to go to Jiffy Lube for my service. I was promptly taken back inside, waited on, service took just over an hour. While waiting there was much talk among the service techs and counter folks about recent unfavorable surveys, surprise. Once the service was completed, the car was parked in my view, it took another 20-30 minutes for the paperwork to be generated. I had no problem with the simple oil service that was scheduled at 12:30 and finally getting out by 4:00, but the folks behind the counter, "service techs" are not customer friendly, except for Ashley. read more

I wish there were an option for zero stars. Every time I have gone there for a service or to look at buying a new car the people have been lousy. A few weeks ago my wife and I stopped in to look at a new car and while test driving the salesman was sitting in the back texting through the whole test drive, knew nothing about the car, and insulted my wife when she said the color wouldn't work for her. Went straight to New Autos Inc and got great service from Jackie. All Wittmeier is good for is test drives after you've done your own homework on models and features. read more

I wish there was an option to select 0 stars! The most TERRIBLE experience of my life!!!!!!!! Went in looking to trade my expedition in and buy a new one. They started showing me navigators. I told them again exactly what I wanted which was not a navigator. They then wanted all of my info SS number and whatnot . I explained I didn't need to give them that info untill they showed me a vehicle I wanted to buy. In addition I was prepared to pay cash for the vehicle. Eventually I have them my info because they said they could bring a vehicle in. I told them not to run my credit they assured me they wouldn't. 5 Min later my phone starts ringing it's my identity theft saying they are checking my credit. I then demanded my keys back for my vehicle I brought to see the trade in value. Thy would not return my keys. I had to demand them back 4 times before they finally had someone being them back. I will never ever return there! read more

I received a great coupon in the mail for 19.95 for the works package- so despite the reviews I made an appointment. I dropped off the vehicle and Dan stated it would be about 1.5 hrs max- probably less. So we decided instead of going to the movies via the shuttle we would just wait the 1.5 hrs. We told him we would wait- he got my phone number and said WE WILL CALL YOU WHEN ITS DONE. So we sat in the lobby about 30 mins and then decided to walk to Walmart across the way. I made sure my phone was on and checked it a few times in the store and on the way back. We were gone about 40 mins max. Still no phone call we sat down in the lobby and continued to wait. 30 mins past the promised time I got up to ask the cashier - "I think Shaylee or kaylee" about it. She said- "it's been ready". I said why didn't he call me? She said "I think he said he did call you" no, no missed calls. I then said- we have been here waiting- "I think he said u were going to go somewhere and come back" yeah we did- he still should have called like he said. "Well at least your getting a good deal because this usually cost 50 something dollars" ummm isn't my time worth anything? I felt like a tiny piece of chewed bubblegum on the bottom of their shoe- no respect for my time at all, not great customer service. Yes I could of lied and raved about them (as per their sign) and got a free car wash- but I rather spend 20 bucks on a car wash somewhere with great customer service and people/ business who respect my time. read more

AVOID WITTMEIR. 8 years ago we purchased a honda accord here. Worst car buying experience of my life. After the contract was signed and I had my new vehicle at home, they called and wanted to increase my monthly car payment because of a paperwork mistake on their end - no joke. I told them no and I offered to return the car to the dealership. Needless to say I kept the car at the same price. Since then I've had to take it in several times because they were unable to fix the issue properly. And the complimentary rides are horrible as well. It took over 2 hours to get picked up from my home in Chico to be taken back to the dealership. Never greeted warmly and I felt like a nuisance at all encounters. AVOID WITTMEIR. read more

Went in to look for a used car this past weekend. I had test drove some other Honda Accords, but the one I drove here, was the first one I had actually liked. My mom and I wanted to get the price down somewhat (asking 18000 for a 2009) so we really low-balled it in order to get what we wanted. The original sales man was trying to work with us, when as I have seen it on here, the "closer" then took over and we no longer saw the salesman. The "best" he could do was 17.5. My mom and I walked. We got a call the next day about if we were going to come in to look at the car again. Well in the mean time I had been looking online and could get a 2012 model of nearly the same vehicle for the 180000 they were wanting and gave them our final offer of 150000 for the car in cash. They could still only do 17.5 for the car. So sorry wittmeier. We were willing to make it easy on you, but Stevens creek will be getting my business. read more

Don't ever take your car here to get serviced. I took my car here last May to get something fixed under warranty and to get a general 30k mile checkup. First they said I was out of warranty even though I had the extended warranty. They refused to look up what the details were on the extended warranty and tried to charge me $300 for fixing it. Then they said they don't do 30k checkups, only oil changes. I finally agreed to let them do that. It seriously took all day. When I finally got my car back it was the end of the day on a Friday and I got about 2 blocks away before my car completely died. I had to argue with them on the phone for 20 minutes to get them to even consider taking another look at it and *maybe* reimbursing me for towing it back. They didn't want to because the service person wanted to go home for the weekend rather than fix my car right. When I finally got it back there, they realized that the service person hadn't cleaned out the air filter properly and a bee (of all things) got caught in the oxygen sensor. Never, ever take your car here. I've heard similar horror stories from a lot of friends after I told them about this. read more

I have been buying my vehicles from here for years! Every single person I have talked to is friendly, and easy going. Salesman Moises Santos ROCKS! I highly recommend Wittmeier Ford in Chico. Moises "SANTOS" is hardworking, upbeat and knowledgable! We closed a deal today on a Ford CMAX. I recently just had a visit at this dealership due to my car having a recall. Not only did they make me come back on a different day than the first day I went but I did not receive a phone call once about the status of my car except for when they were trying to get me to spend money to fix a hose that I'm not even 100% sure needs to fixed. I had to call them to get any sort of information on my car which I shouldn't have had to do. And they kept it overnight without informing me of giving me a rental when it clearly states in the recall paper that they are REQUIRED to give me a rental if they had to keep it overnight. They didn't call me when my car was finished..I had to call them again! The entire time my car was there I called twice and left a message and got nothing in return. It was from 9:45am to 3:30pm the next day. The day I took my car, I was waiting in the service line for 15 minutes with no one in front of me and not one service guy came out to me I had to go in and ask for one. And the day I went to pick up my car they took a good 10-15 minutes before actually bringing my car to me when I saw it parked. Needless to say they were horrible and next time I have to take my car to the dealership I will take it to to a different one. If I could give them no stars I would. read more

WOW, I have never written a review before, but I feel that this needs to be done. I have purchased 5 vehicles from this "local" business, I believe in keeping as much commerce in the area as possible. I typically lease vehicles and replace them every three years. I have always had good experiences in purchasing the vehicle, with 1 exception, and have had good success in servicing the vehicles there as well. But, let me tell you about turning in a leased vehicle; this has know happened twice in a row where the person in charge, an individual named Al Rana (sp?) is so important to the company that he is the only one capable of receiving a lease return, yet again because he is so important he can't make himself available to communicate to you directly. Instead he prefers to send out sales people to ask what I need, even the salesperson is more professional than he is. How often can you say that! So yesterday I call the sales department and I am greeted on the phone by a young, unprofessional receptionist asking how she may help, I ask for Al, she says she will see if he is available, which we all know he isn't, she comes back to the phone and tells me he is unavailable, could she take my number and hopefully he will call me back, very telling. Of course no call back, so I go to the dealer last night to set an appointment as I work and need to handle this in a timely manner. Again I am greeted by another young, unprofessional receptionist asking how she can help, I ask for Al, she leaves to the "closing room", and comes back to you guessed it, tell me he is unavailable. I state I am just trying to make an appointment to turn in the car, she goes back in the "closing room" and Al sends out another salesman asking if he can help and if I needed a new car. I tell him my intentions and he says he'll call Al, goes back into the "closing room" and comes back to say Al is available between 10:30 and 11:45 the next morning. I tell him I will be in at 10:30. 10:30 this morning I am at the dealership, greeted by a salesperson, I tell her my intentions, she asks if I have an appointment, of course I don't because Al is too important to come out and speak with you. She disappears into the closing room, coming out to let me know it would be 10 minutes, and to have a seat. Finally, Al! I wait a few minutes and an individual comes out from around the corner, states my name and says follow me. Al? He disappears and as I turn the corner I see him sitting in an office waiting for me. Al? I don't know he never introduced himself, shook my hand, nothing. Al? states that I am signing this form and that form, we are done, good bye. I write all this to tell individuals looking for a professional experience to go elsewhere. I have never been treated with such lack of respect by a business. I can't believe the owners allow individuals like this to be in charge of their multi-million dollar company. Sorry owners, but you have lost control. read more

Wow, there are a lot of bad reviews here. I know in the past Wittmeier had a bad reputation but I thought they had gotten better. We bought our 2007 Honda Accord in Roseville and my husband bought his Ford F150 in Corning so I can't comment on how it is to buy a car there. BUT.....we just had our Accord's 100,000 mile check-up and we were happy with the service. Jake was the guy who helped us and he was great. Very nice and helpful. We ended up leaving the car overnight as they were going to also fix the right wheel bearing which was making a noise that was driving my husband nuts. They did fix it. We were very pleased with the work and the service. read more

Unacceptable Service, The first service I had at Wittmeier: My F-150 developed an audible rattle of an unknown source. I took it to the dealer to be fixed, after having my truck for two days the service department determined it was related to the exhaust system but could not fix it. My truck has an aftermarket muffler and they told me it must have had something to do with the aftermarket components. They charged me for looking at it, and at the time it seemed fair. Ultimately, I (a non-factory trained technician) found that the culprit was actually a broken factory installed lifting eye on the engine block. I understand this was a difficult find, but why did the representative lie about determining its source? To ensure I would believe they earned the money I was being charged? How much time did they actually spend trying to track down the noise? The second time I attempted to have service performed by Wittmeier was for warped rotors. I would have not returned after the first event however, the two wheel drive F-150's have a unique front rotor which requires special tools in order to resurface. They turned the front rotors and recommended I also resurface the rears, to which I agreed. A few hours later, they called me and said the rear rotors would not accept a turn and needed to be replaced. I told them I would hold off on the rears for now, as I planned to replace them myself. I was called a second time a few minutes later, and was told the rotors were below allowable tolerances and really needed to be replaced, driving as is would be unsafe, I explained I would personally replace them. When I went to pick up my truck, I was charged full price for the front and the rears. I was highly confused as I did not expect to be charged for a service on parts that as described to me needed to be replaced. After heated words and discussions with the service manager the new story was the rotors were turned, were safe and the finish was only rougher than they would have liked. I have looked at the rotors myself and I think several mechanics around town would be embarrassed to charge for what looks like incomplete/shoddy work. Telling a customer their brakes, (possibly the most important feature on a vehicle) are unsafe should only occur when in fact they are unsafe; was this just an aggressive sales technique? Mistaking safe brakes for unsafe brakes or charging for labor on supposedly unusable parts, in my opinion is not good practice. At the end of the day Wittmeier was given two opportunities to impress me and failed. The service department employs dishonest representatives and I will never trust my vehicle to them again. One last note, I purchased my truck from Wittmeier and after the poor way I have been treated, I will never purchase another vehicle from them again. read more

My car is a 2011 Ford Fiesta, purchased new from Wittmeier. There is a known defect in the transmission of this model, for which a mass action suit is already in progress. The problem is potentially very dangerous as it causes a sudden lack of power. We have experienced this three times, the most recent time in heavy midday traffic. Upon calling Wittmeier, not only the dealer where we bought the car, but the only Ford dealership in Chico, we were told that they couldn't fix the problem for at least five weeks! When reminded of the extreme danger involved, THEY complained about how short handed they currently are and they rudely suggested we take the car out of town if we wanted it fixed before then! Okay then, message received. Wittmeier Ford does not stand behind the cars they sell regardless of any danger involved. Obviously, we will never again deal with Wittmeier. Benny Brown Ford of Oroville, on the other hand, was nothing but polite and helpful. They will fix our car in less than 48 hours, and they will receive any future business. read more

The staff is great at the floor sales level but the micromanaging is what ultimately leaves the bitter taste in your mouth. Like the previous review, it is like you are hounded from the start. You don't have time to really get out of the vehicle before someone with a radio sends someone your direction, if you say that you are not ready to buy and your only doing research and comparing to other cars, you keep getting pushed. It's like you are a target because before you even get to something to look at or before you leave you have talked with 3 salespeople and 2 managers. I ended up buying a vehicle from another dealership in the area hassle free. But unlike the previous writer I do believe that the salespeople there are knowledgeable. Unfortunately the pressure was more than I could stand, I told them I was planning to buy within the week because I was finished doing my research on-line, but I guess the managers there thought I wasn't serious, I bought my car 3 days later. I needed a vehicle so I could return to southern California to get back to school, the car I drove to Chico so I could visit my family stopped working, but it was super old anyways. read more

I recently went to Wittmeirer in hopes to trade in my 2006 Ford Fusion. Even though my car was in great shape I was not looking forward to getting low offers on it. I ended up test driving a Ford Escape and completely fell in love. He engaged in my excited by informing me about the car's features and he seemed genuinely excited about them. Once we had to start talking about the trade in value, Vincent was praising how great my car looked and that he thought he could really help me out. Not only did he pay off my fusion but he also got me into a lower interest rate on my new 2015 Ford Escape. I couldn't be happier with service I received. I was out looking at a truck. (I am a woman, and was with my friend) I went to one dealership in town and got a feel for a truck there and a price. I wanted to compare a Chevy to it , how it drives etc. We have purchased 3 vehicles, including 2 trucks from Wittmeir previously. Let me say I will not be going back. Upon returning from the test drive. I asked to be returned to the Chevy lot as my car was over there, and I had a person with me who was recently injured, and was having difficulty walking distances. I was told it was the process that we had to turn into the Ford lot. He said he would have to drive us over to the other lot. I got out, left the engine running. He reached in turned it off and proceeded to open the hood. I knew we were stuck. My friend got out and said to me ,this is enough, I will walk. We started walking towards our vehicle. I heard "we have a process here, jerk", "hey were not in your house", "ASSHOLES". This part was yelled across the lot, for everyone to hear. We did nothing wrong. We looked, we went on a test drive and I am allowed to take that information and leave, if I wish to make an informed decision. I probably would have asked a few more questions about the truck. I am heading to another dealership now. I work very hard for my money, and I do not need this aggravation when I am looking at spending thousands of dollars on a truck. read more

My experiences have always been good at Wittmeier. In 2006 I purchased a Honda Ridgeline from them. The experience was so good, both price wise and customer service care I had no reservations about returning to purchase my new 2015 Honda Accord. The Sales Rep, Alysha Phipps was extremely helpful from the moment I walked through the door, with the Test Drive and through the entire sales process. I did have a unique situation when making my new car purchase. I live in San Francisco and had no way of getting my new car purchase to my home as I had my other car to drive back to my residence. I offered to come back to Chico on the Bus in a day or two to pick up my new vehicle. Alysha and her sales manager told me they did not want me to have to do that and offered to deliver it to my home in San Francisco, a 3 hour drive that same evening. Sure enough, my new Accord was delivered that night as promised. I've come to expect customer service above and beyond in both Sales, and service from Wittmeier and they have always lived up to my expectations. Needless to say, as with my Ridgeline in 2006, and my Accord in 2015, my first stop for my next car purchase will be Wittmeier. I'd be remiss if I did not offer a special thank you to Alysha for the wonderful sales experience and for going the extra 180 miles to accommodate delivery of my Accord to me in San Francisco. Thank you Wittmeier!!! read more

If I could rate my experience in dealing with this business less than one star, I would. Upon arrival we were immediately approached by a salesman who asked what we were looking for and at what price range. We told him that we wanted to pay cash for a vehicle with towing abilities for an ultralite travel trailer. We of course gave him our bottom range and he took us to look at a Dodge Ram. The asking price was $19,000. We said $19,000 was above what we were looking for. He assured us that he could probably get us into the truck at a reasonable price. This also included a trade in. After the test drive we went back to the sales office to talk business. He produced papers that he said we had to fill out in order for them to begin talking to us about a deal. This had to do with 9/11 and California law. It quickly became apparent that what he was doing was taking a credit application. Huge manipulation and outright lie to get the information he wanted. Would this have to do with the fact that he saw two older women?? He, then, produced a payment option and asked if it was acceptable to us. We answered no and reiterated that we wanted to do cash business. Bottom line, a huge waste of time!! They never once offered to talk about a cash deal, what they would be willing to do with a trade in, or offer to take us to look at other vehicles, until we were walking out the door. We kept walking. Advice for others? Not only might you want to bring mace but bring a huge can of Lysol. Don't even bother trying to deal with this business! read more
