Update: 1. Last full…read moreTrue Up year of December 2022 to December 2023 I paid $900 to PGE for electricity for the entire year. We own 2 electric cars and our home has 2 AC units. To say we are power hungry is putting it mildly 2. In 2023 our 11.47 kw system with microinverters generated 18.1 MwHs of power. This is about 40% more than a similarly sized Tesla system my co-worker has. 3. Earlier this year my Enphase system stopped reporting data to enphase but was still working. Enphase called Corda who called me and they got a tech out to fix it same day. This was a free service visit. This is amazing customer service. 4. We've had 2 power outages so far this summer and both times I only realized it after receiving notifications from PG&E and Enphase. The system cuts over so quickly there is no interuption to any devices. 5. We live in the Tri-Vally where a heat wave had temperatures reaching 95-110 for several weeks in June and July. We never changed our consumption habits and kept the house at a cool 74 degrees anytime we were home. My True Up increase for that time period was only $75. The True Up was negative for the 3 billing cycles prior. I'm seeing Reddit posts of people with power bills over $1k for the same period. Keep in mind we are also charging two EVs! I calculate this system will fully pay for itself in 7 years and continue to provide my family with essentially free uninterrupted power after that. We did manage to catch NEM2 but the system will still pay for itself in NEM3, it will just take a lot longer and you will definitely need batteries.

I paid a total of $14,000 to do so and when they put them back up, they never even worked although the technician did say oh they're up and running don't worry about it, so now I'm stuck with solar panels that I did pay for paid another $14,000 to have them taken off and then put back in and now they are literally laughing at me saying that they are not responsible for their own work. I do not recommend this business. I feel that they are trying to nickel and dime me for every single thing, and I do not appreciate it, and I really feel that I would never recommend this like this Because as a community leader I believe in supporting local businesses, but this is one particular business that I do not believe in, I will never recommend and I am so sorry that they are nickel and I need for work. They should've stood by.

Their sales rep did his homework on our house and then came over with drawings and and Full financial mapping. I am in high tech and business for my day job and he already done much of that research myself but they nailed it and were honest about the size system we needed. Solar city had oversized it. For purchasing they even let me purchase the solar equipment direct and get credit card points. The paperwork process was a breeze and they handled everything. Even the install with the workers was smooth and on time. When we hit a snag in terms of running conduit and making it look good they even hired a contractor to cut into my roof and make it run in the closed attic and then repair it so it looks brand new and clean. We are already producing electricity that is right on par or above their estimates. They got started within a couple weeks of signing the contract and done within a week. They hit every day of their schedule. Update 5 months in. They modeled that from January to May I would produce 6300kwh. Even with all the rain I am coming in at 6700. Appreciate the conservative modeling and over delivering :)

The technician arrived on time, he was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. He identified the problem and suggested that there were two options for us, explained pros and cons of both options, and they would have to spec out the costs and send us a quote. We got a quote for both options in a couple of days. The quotes were fair from the research I'd done. I spoke with Gary who was great and we chose to replace the whole unit with a newer model that integrates with a phone based app. We scheduled for the replacement installation and the technician came back on time again. He got everything installed, everything pre-registered with Jandy for warranty purposes, and then took the time go over how the system works; he also made some recommended adjustments based on our setup. Both men left us completely at ease and are true professionals. The subcontractors selected for site prep, plumbing, gunite installation, masonry, concrete pour, "wet edge" surface coatings, carpentry (for the pergola) and electrical were first rate, high quality service contractors. We chose Hawkins to build our dream pool…read more After researching other pool companies, we chose Hawkins to build our dream pool. We did have the benefit of experiencing a Hawkings pool though a friend who was very satisfied with Hawkings, so we too entrusted Hawkings to build ours. From the design, through the construction and material choices, we relied on Hawkings for their opinions and expertise and I am so glad we did. The pool turned out awesome. We have a relatively narrow back yard, and it was slightly sloped as well so I wasn't sure what could be done design wise. Jeff designed a lap pool that tucked up nicely the backyard fence garden and retaining wall. He also designed a beautiful concrete paver patio that extends from the back of the house to the pool. The pool dimensions turn out to be 48' long by 8' wide 3.5'-4.5' deep. A perfect 1 lane lap pool. We relied on Jeff for all of the material suggestions, the Tahoe blue finish with blue tile work and dark gray auto-cover finishes the pool nicely. A major concern I had was how to get an excavator down our very narrow side yard. As it turned out, we had to temporarily remove our air conditioning unit to allow for a small 4' excavator to allow access to the back yard. Since the construction started mid September, we only had one day where we missed the A/C. It only took 3.5 days to excavate the pool using this small excavator. Gary our project manager was always available and when it came time to put in the pool equipment, we changed our minds on its location to the opposite end of our yard. Gary and team were able to rally around this change in requirement and accomplished this task without delaying the project. The rest of construction went smoothly. We were swimming by the end of January in our heated pool. Absolutely awesome. In addition to the lap pool we had a patio build that extended the entire width of the house and from the back doors all the way to the pool's edge. The team built a very smooth and tight paver patio that drains very fast when it rains. We are very pleased. I can't say enough about the professionalism of all involved with this project. I would highly recommend Hawkings Pools / Dana Lund Landscaping and all the subcontractors used who specialize in pool construction. If you want quality, then Hawkings is good value.
