Owner is rude, injects politics into everything, has a history of publicly bashing the Chinese ( you sell overpriced snake oil get over yourself, her goods are over priced and virtually nothing in the store is actually backed up by reputable evidence. Anything you buy here is going to be top-dollar, low-quality, and you're going to be condescended during the purchase. Beautiful locale that would much better pretty much any other business. The owner isn't pleasant, but maybe some of the other employees are. Never got the chance to find that out though. read more

Hands down favorite part of this store- being able to go gift shopping for family and friends while supporting local vendors. Chrissy carries numerous items that are locally crafted by families we know and love. What better way to support a family!!! ******* As we slowly integrate healthier options into our lifestyle, Chrissy & her team are always available to answer any questions we have. Although we haven't made a 100% switch to all things crunchy and granola, Chrissy appreciates our desire to slowly learn and make changes. She always has numerous recommendations and we are able to choose what bests suits our needs. We have most loved learning about the essential oils she carries and the baby line of soaps, lotions and balms. ******** Thank you Chrissy and team for all you do in this community! read more

Eco Chic - Happy, 5th birthday, Eco!!! - Baby Gear & Furniture Near Me - Vacaville, California

I don't even give them one star, if I could give them zero stars I would. One of the staff members had a condescending passive aggressive attitude. Wouldn't recommend this store at all. Don't understand how it's still in business with the staff's attitude and the overpriced products. I don't usually do reviews, but I had to give a review for this one!! read more

Love Eco Chic! This boutique-feel store is a go-to for my family. We are dedicated to healthy living after discovering some health issues in our family. Eco Chic has been there for us. All the research I've done, they have done. Clean products. They cover so many areas. It's rare to find a store that totally aligns with your lifestyle. Everything in the store is obviously thoughtfully selected for the customers' best interest. Chrissy, the owner, is great about keeping on top of the best quality, current items on the market that are truly beneficial. Love the unique gift ideas they offer. I love to give a good gift and I always find something special for a good friend or even just to brighten someone's day who is going through a tough time. Eco Chic is my place for gifts. I love that new items are always coming in. To top it off, the employees are knowledgeable on healthy living, know the in-store products and offer so much insight. I've spent longer than I plan to in the store only because of the great conversations that happen when I'm in there. Love the store, the newsletter, the events they put on. I'm so grateful for a store dedicated to truly helping people. read more

The staff was very passive aggressive and made me feel very unwelcome at the shop as it was my first time there. The staff spoke in a condescending tone to the customers and made me want to leave the store right away! Never coming back here--please learn how to tend to your customers. read more

Loved coming here and the idea of the small holistic local business but bringing politics into their shop isn't very smart..

Terrible customer service, staff not wearing masks. You'd think for a store promoting wellness they have the health and best interests of their customers at heart. Went in looking for a previously purchased product that they no longer carry, and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about, and offered no help to suggest alternatives. read more

I am NOT a shopper...except for some reason when it comes to Eco Chic! So fun. So clean. I can spend hours here. We've been coming to Chrissy's store since my daughter was pregnant with her first. Eight years later it is still our Go-To shop for Chrissy's knowledgable help and high-quality products. Even after we moved, we continue to shop here. Absolutely fantastic! Love Chrissy! Love her store! read more

It's really sad that a business that supports so many of my favored parenting and lifestyle techniques, considered to be "out of the box" or outside of the norm, is run by a dictatorial madwoman. I've had a few e-interactions with Chrissy Helmer and beyond her inability to construct a logical sentence, use correct grammar, or spell things correctly in her promotional materials or advertisements, she has been nothing short of awful. My experiences with her have ranged from her blindly defending a claim that "no matter how many veggies you eat in a day, you will never get the daily nutrients without using _____ product that I happen to sell" (which is completely false and she didn't like me pointing it out) to her telling me that I wouldn't fit into a Facebook group because you aren't allowed to be critical, hold store associates accountable for suggestions, or talk about any products that her store doesn't sell. Are you kidding me? No critical thought? No accountability? How is this a place that is supposed to be so progressive, yet rejects any type of new thought. Chrissy runs her business under the guise of being a kind, Christian woman interested in helping mamas learn about natural parenting. This would be great if she didn't reject anyone who thinks differently than her and has the audacity to challenge a claim she makes. I've had a friend tell me how her pregnant friend left the old store in tears after Chrissy made her feel like a monster for opting to have a hospital birth after an incredibly traumatic birth experience with her last child requiring immediate medical attention for the child. I've seen a friend post in a completely separate forum that she was looking for an item Eco Chic sells new in used condition because money was tight and she couldn't afford to spend $70 on a new toy when she has two other children. Chrissy proceeded to comment that the toy was available in her store, obviously! My friend knew that, she's in the store regularly, but she clearly stated she was not in a position to pay your incredibly marked up prices for a one present for one child. I myself felt judged for not waking my newborn out of his carseat to put him into a carrier when I came in to browse her cloth collection shortly after my son was born. I am a babywearer; I know my child and I know when and where to wear him. Thanks. Back off. I have avoided trying to be petty with this woman, but I can only handle so much pretension. It's really too bad; this store sells so much wonderful stuff and supports local business. I love what the store claims to be about, it's just unfortunate that in reality it's something completely different. Luckily for Chrissy, she's the only storefront for a niche market in this area, so for convenience and instant gratification's sake, people will continue to be referred there (but not without a disclaimer!). I'm only one person. As you can see from other reviews, most people really love her. That's wonderful. This is just my review. Store is great, owner needs work. It sucks to say, but I'll save myself the stress and judgment I've received from her and her staff and get better customer service from Amazon. Or I'll make the drive to Davis or Berkeley to source my baby products rather than buy from a person who sees no value in a conversation between adults that may have differing opinions. PS. It still says "Rescources" in your photo on Yelp. How is it possible that you and no one else has noticed this in the 2 1/2 months that you've been at your new location. WTF is a rescource? read more

Unfortunately I'm leaving this negative review and I've never even had the chance to get past the front doors. Twice now I've stopped by in search of a unique baby gift, only to find a handwritten note on the door stating that the employee(s) were out to lunch. Yesterday I waited 35 minutes for someone to come back, and finally decided to take my business elsewhere. I found a sweet little gift at Kool Kids, also in the Nut Tree, and will go back there the next time I need a special gift. In response to the reply from Chrissy: Thank you for taking the time to write back. I can certainly understand the unique needs of a small, family-run business, but I'd expect you would have some sort of plan for the days when there is only one employee at the shop- perhaps bringing his/her own lunch that day or even ordering for delivery? When I arrived at the shop there were two pregnant mamas out front, also disappointed to find the store temporarily closed. Imagine how a bit of pre planning would impress your would-be clients? As a pregnant, working mom with a busy toddler it was hugely disappointing to know that I potentially wasted the little bit of free time available to me by visiting the store. Just some advice that might help you avoid dissatisfied clients in the future. read more

Calling BS on Chrissy's now FOURTH response. It appears she has deleted the other THREE. Her account changes each time and her story escalates. Um, excuse me. It has been over a year since we have spoken and I left my review. I have not attempted to contact you and have not revised my original review. Here it is a year later and you have revisited this and changed your response FOUR times, each time attacking my credibility. Whom is harassing whom? No matter how many times you change your story, mine remains the same. I will not change it, nor will I delete it so just leave me alone! I don't know what you think you're going to accomplish. I stand by this account and my husband, who himself works in tandem with the CHP, FBI and other law enforcement entities, can attest to my account as he actually had more crazy dealings with her than myself. She is unequivocally lying. I still have the emails and notes as well and would be happy to provide them. We were going to pursue legal action. However, it was just not worth having to deal with her antics further on any level. Why would the owner revisit this a year later? Interesting that the "glowing" recommendation stating that the negative reviewers are lying was made by someone who reviewed this, and only this establishment. How would she know what the truth is if not a party/witness to this issue? Paid review perhaps (Google "Yelp paid reviews".) My review was based solely on my interaction and experience with Chrissy, the owner. I cannot speak to products as I have not, nor would I EVER shop here. I would say read the other negative reviews, including the filtered ones, and proceed with caution. read more

Every time we come to California we stop in here while visiting the nut tree for our kids. Cute store & great location but on more then one occasion have we visited & it was closed for lunch or picking up mail or or or.... To me that's highly unprofessional no matter how small it is. They have good items that you can't find most places but the prices are extremely marked up. For example the inspired by Finn Amber necklace I've bought online was $17, while at Eco Chic I paid over $40! read more

Love this place! I know when I am buying anything here there's care behind each product. It's more for people than for just profit.

I more than respect what this business stands for! Thank you so much for standing for America and patriots! I loved this store at the old location downtown, and the new place is even better! This is my shop of choice for all things baby. I also come here for chalk paint and essential oils, organic treats and raw milk! The staff is all so friendly and knowledgable. We love the high quality, local, eco-friendly products that Eco Chic sells! We've been repeat customers for years now, and love seeing this locally-owned gem grow and improve. The friendly atmosphere, quality products, and solid recommendations are more than worth paying a little extra for over a big-box retailer. read more

Stopped to look at the rack outside the front door because "hippie" type stores (I use the term loosely and positively) tend to sometimes actually carry my size in cute clothes. FYI I'm one of those lucky ones who is too big for mainstream stores and too small for plus size stores. I immediately found a cute shirt that I really liked, tried it on in their comfy back room for trying on clothes or chilling with your feeding baby (nice touch!) and yes, it was cute on and it fit perfectly! I bought it. It was just under $30 which I consider moderately priced and worth it for good clothes. Chrissy was also very nice and i let her know i appreciated the size selection and we commiserated on both being awkward sizes for the fashion industry. I was overall impressed and will be back when I feel like shopping again! read more

I love this store! Great boutique with incredible items! Found cod liver oil for my son here- score! High quality with the environment and repurposing in mind.

I had an amazing shopping experience at Eco Chic a few weeks ago. It was my first time there and I was really impressed by the products that they had. I currently cloth diaper my child but have been buying all the accessories/creams/etc online. It is nice to know there is a physical place I can go to to buy things natural for my daughter. I was helped by Mandi and she was so friendly and welcoming. She helped me find what I needed. I bought a handful of CJ's Butter samples and a GroVia diaper cream stick. My favorite thing about this business are the bible quotes and bible study from shereadstruth.com. Natural living and my faith are two very integral parts of my life and I really love how this business has embraced the same views as I have. Even though I don't live very close, it is a place I will look forward to visiting when I go to the outlets. read more

On a recent trip to the Vacaville Outlets, we made a visit to the kiddie play area. While the kids were burning energy with dad, I took the rare opportunity to visit Eco Chic, I had seen the boutique out of the corner of my eye and was curious....it is a darling little boutique that carries many products for babies and baby mommas. Sadly mine are past the infancy stage, I still browsed and saw that they have lovely unique gifts of faith....then I got sight of their essential oils....what a treasure find! I have done a lot of research and was delighted that they carry a high quality line of essential oils. Sure I can purchase on line, but there is something to be said for face to face customer service from knowledgable staff. I had a wonderful shopping experience, found all I needed and look forward to stopping by soon. I also plan to order on line as I learn more on essential oils. read more

I bought an "inspired by Finn" Baltic Amber bracelet yesterday to help with my carpal tunnel syndrome. I tried on a different amber bracelet in-store which was made by the same company but it was too small. The lady whom helped me suggested the type that is elastic vs the screw-on type. I purchased the elastic bracelet but later that night noticed that the elastic bracelet was too small and cutting off my circulation. I returned today, less than 24hrs. to get my money back or exchange for an amber necklace that I could use as a bracelet. A different female employee told me hey don't take products like this back and that I should have tried it on first. She also suggested that maybe I could give it to someone but all she could do was give 10% off another purchase. As soon as I said that wasn't going to work. She apologized and quickly turned around to help another customer. Although, this boutique is cute and carries a lot organic items, I will not be shopping there again. Her customer service was lacking and I am a retired USAF veteran and Dept of VA healthcare employee that knows the importance of good customer service. read more

Typically I like this store along with the unique items they carry. I've been a loyal customer for several years as I am a mother of 4. In fact I was just in there the other day and bought a toddler Tula and my sister inlaw bought a beco toddler carrier the day prior to that. That being said, I likely will not return as a customer again due to a bad experience today via telephone with the owner Chrissy. I called last month and spoke to one of her employees who was very helpful. I was looking for grace and lace short extenders. I know they happen to carry these there. The lady informed me that they didn't have my size in stock but would be getting more later in the month. So today I called to check and Chrissy answered. I asked her what sizes she had in stock on the short extenders. While she was checking sizes I said I was looking for a size xs or small. She replied with an odd shriek, which I took as almost annoyed. Then she followed with, no they do not carry that size and will not carry it because it is not in "their demographic." Hmmmmmm I replied ok and she again explained that it's not in their demographic to carry that size. I could email her to special order. I felt like it was very rude how she put it and her tone that she used with me. I actually felt as if I was being body shamed because I asked if she had a small or xs. That was my first experience ever, to have another women make it sound like I was so thin or off her sizing chart that the demographic didn't cater to me. I feel like an appropriate response would have simply been, no I'm sorry we don't have that size in stock but I can order it. Not it isn't in our demographic to have that size. I know plenty of mothers who shop at Eco chic who would very likely wear a size small or xs. It isn't a size that is so unheard off. In fact my sister Inlaws all shopped there on occasion and after this incident we all feel like we will not go in again. They are all an xs or small. I feel like if I was plus size and I called looking for an XL, I'm almost certain the response would not be, it is not in our demographic to carry that size. It seems like that would be very discriminating to say to someone. So I do not feel like it was appropriate to say that to someone who needed a small or xs. Again it made me feel as if the owner was body shaming me for being thin, and I certainly don't want anyone else to feel that way no matter what size you are. Rather you're an xs or xl, a 0 or a 16. You should not be treated that way when asking about a size. To be made to feel like you do not fit Eco chic demographics. Last time I checked there are women of all sizes who shop there and should certainly be part of their demographics. I really hope the owner rethinks how she spoke today and perhaps it will be a lesson to treat customers with a little more respect when checking on a size. Rather it be a small or large. read more

This store has a great selection of carefully selected unique items. I have shopped at Eco Chic on numerous occasions. I recently came in and bought a bottle of a DoTerra essential oil blend and I loved it so much I went home to look up more DoTerra products online. Much to my surprise I noticed I paid a $5 markup at EcoChic beyond the retail price that DoTerra had listed on their website, for the same exact oil. I do realize that shopping local often means paying more, but I don't understand why the oil was marked up an additional $5. It seems unethical to mark up an additional amount since DoTerra is a multilevel marketing company and they already provide retail vs wholesale prices so that their distributors are able to make a profit. After comparing prices with other places for similar products (co-op in Davis & sprouts & nugget), I'm sad to say that I won't be shopping at EcoChic anymore. read more
