The sales contact Jane is incredibly responsive and worked many different quotes with me with ease. There was an issue with the critter guard install but they came back out immediately to fix it. My system has been working flawlessly. I definitely think this is the best solar install company in Austin. Definitely get connected with Jane she is the best!

We did our installation in 2022 and have seen our energy bills lower than ever before! (We have some shade on our roof so we didn't do the full roof, ~20 panels or so, but it worked out well.) They did the rebate work with the city so our out-of-pocket cost wasn't exorbitant at all. Our household also recently purchased a second electric vehicle so we contacted 512 Solar again, this time for a level 2 charger installation. Once again, 512 Solar was excellent at getting our quote together, suggesting two hardwired chargers that the city does rebates on, and actually getting the work done as well. We have to do the final step with submitting the rebate paperwork to the city, I believe, but that's small beans compared to all the work that JP and Huiyun did for us at the outset. Really happy we went with these folks and will continue to recommend their business!

Freedom Solar was out, along with the inspector first thing to make corrections. It was done in two hours. And the Tesla app was pumping out favorable data. We asked the inspector about other companies and their response time. Thumbs down to Alternative Solar , who has missed three inspection appointments with one customer who has been installed since May. Best in the eyes of the inspector on install and customer service: 1. Freedom Solar 2. Sun Power The quote, design, approval by HOA,electrical install and panel install was painless. Tesla is providing batteries for solar installations. We opted to have a battery. The entire solar system is managed/monitored through the Tesla app. Things to keep in mind, they warrant their own work. Long history in solar business. They manufacture their own panels. They service their panels, electrical system. No third party warranty, repair, servicing. Really good customer service.

Everything was cleaned up and ready for me to set up. He had to cut some drywall to run the cable, but did it low behind my softener so it's not even visible. I highly recommend Grayzer for charger installs. They've been focused on them for a while, and it shows.

The first time they did it they installed a 240 volt outlet in my garage and I plugged a tesla mobile connector into that, worked well. The next time they did it at the new house, I thought they would do the same thing but apparently they stopped installing the mobile connectors. Now they only install the wall connector which is a large sci-fi looking thing that is permanently affixed to the wall. It's also more expensive than the mobile connector. None of this was made clear to me when we started the project with Grayzer. They came to my house, got about 90% done with the job then saw the equipment I had and said "sorry we don't do those anymore". They explained the situation to me but since I didn't have the equipment they wanted they couldn't finish. They did however insist on being fully paid for the job. Stupidly, I agreed to pay them and they left saying "call us when you have the wall connector". That was a mistake. Never fully pay for the work until the job is fully done! So I bought one and scheduled a time to finish at which point they said they would need to charge another trip fee to come back out. I explained that it wasn't made clear to me that I didn't have the right equipment until the job was almost complete but they didn't care. They were insistent that I give them another trip fee before they would come back. Frankly they were pretty rude about it too. Like really rude. Whoever I was emailing was belligerent and completely unprofessional. It was extremely frustrating. I tried to explain that as the professionals in this situation they should be the ones checking that all the equipment is ready to go before the job starts. At the time I didn't know the difference between a mobile connector and a wall connector. I didn't even know that tesla had multiple options for wall chargers. I had what I used the first time so I figured it would work. It's not that the trip fee was so much money but after having to drag this out over two visits, spend another $150 to upgrade to a wall connector, a trip fee on top of all that was a bit much. In my opinion, a reasonable company would just accept responsibility and waive the second trip fee. Or at least offer to split it. But not these guys. They dug their trench and they weren't coming out. It was childish and stupid and I'm embarrassed for them. And to boot, the people they sent out to finish up the job were jerks. One of them was yelling and cussing at somebody on their phone like a crazy person in my garage. Honestly, these guys are like school on a Sunday -- no class. I guess this is what happens when you get to be a popular company. Customer service and basic decency goes out the window because what do you care, you have plenty of business. Right? Yeah right.

I'd like to share both the good and bad sides of my experience with Longhorn Solar…read more First, I want to recognize Kathie Millen for doing an excellent job coordinating my roof replacement project. She handled the scheduling for the solar removal and reinstallation, and that entire process went smoothly and professionally. I truly appreciate her effort and communication throughout that portion of the project. Unfortunately, the experience after that has been extremely disappointing. During the installation process, the installers accidentally damaged my motorcycle, causing approximately $1,600 in damage. I was immediately told it would "be taken care of" and that it would not be a problem. However, it has now been over two months, and I have not received a single response from management despite multiple emails being sent to Delisa, Danny, and the main service email address. On top of the repair costs, I had to rent a trailer to transport the motorcycle over 100 miles to San Antonio because very few shops work on that type of bike. I also had Uber expenses to get back and forth. Initially, I wasn't even planning to ask for reimbursement for those additional costs, but the complete lack of communication and accountability has changed my perspective. What's most frustrating is the lack of customer care after the damage occurred. Promises were made, but nobody followed through or even responded. At this point, it feels like my only remaining option is to pursue the matter in court, including the additional expenses and lost time. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend staying away from Longhorn Solar. If damage occurs to your property, don't expect timely communication or accountability from management.
