This is one of the best spots to grab a traditional, all-American breakfast in the beautiful state of Montana. The hostesses don't take reservations and is walk-in only. My advice is to get your name on the list and walk next door to the coffee/gift shop that is adjacent to the restaurant. There is the option to sit either inside or out and the food options are plentiful. Definitely grab one of their Bloody Mary's as well. I like it spicy so I ordered the Mule Kick and that was just what the doctor ordered after drinking the night before. The breakfast burrito was something that I've been dreaming of for a while and so pleased to have been able to partake here. It was loaded and the kitchen just knocked it out of the park. The veggie omelette was good too with a nice hollandaise sauce that was dripping from the top of the egg to the bottom of the biscuit. I also tried the broccoli & cauliflower soup and it was a hit once I added a dash of cholula. This one is an easy 5 stars for me. Next time I am in the area, this is at the top of my list of places to visit again.

The Echo Lake Café is a great little spot with home cooked food, beautiful outdoor seating, and a friendly staff. Our group of six met for breakfast, but were told we could not be seated until our entire group was physically inside the cafe, and you could not your name on the seating list- OK so we went back outside and waited until everyone arrived. Went back inside with everyone and were then told we would all have to stand by the door as there was a 20 minute wait??!! This was the only disappointing thing that happened, so be prepared if you are with a group. Once seated outside, the staff were so friendly and made sure everyone had coffee which were never empty, and our food came very quickly even though this place gets very busy. Everyone in our group enjoyed their breakfast, and we never felt rushed, and could just enjoy the company. Would definitely recommend the Echo Lake Café!

Very cool place extremely busy but very well staffed I had the kielbasa omelette and the wife had a bacon and egg breakfast which she said was amazing. Well worth the stop what a cool place.

Breakfast: chicken fried steak, silver dollar pancakes, ham & cheese omelet

We stayed about 9 miles away on a family vacation at Glacier National Park. Cafe was crowded at 9:30, but that is to be expected with the limited number of options for breakfast and this being a tourist destination. Wait said 55 minutes but it was shorter than that. Nice little coffee shop adjacent to wait it out. They use a text notification system for your seating. Food was very good and came out quickly. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast and the wife created her own omelette. Silver dollar pancakes are good as well. If you want a soda, they are in cans, so don't expect free refills except on tea and water, which wasn't a problem for us. Service was on par with cafes of this type. I would definitely recommend Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast in the Big Fork area of Montana.

Two Eggs, bacon, potatoes, gluten free toast and Side Of Hollandaise

There is a small lot in front and more parking to the side. This place gets super busy so there is a wait on the weekends especially during the summer. I ordered a Carmel almond milk latter and it as was so yummy. The flavor was great and the coffee smooth. I ordered 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes and gluten free toast. The gluten free toast was some of the best I have had in a while. I got a side of hollandaise and it was yummy with my potatoes. I also enjoyed my bacon it was crunchy and not over cooked. Overall, great breakfast and latte with good service. It isn't huge but the space is used well and on a nice day sitting on the deck visiting with friends and checking out the mountains sounds like a great time.

I saw this place on a list but then a friend of ours said it was good, well you know we had to try it on our way home. A friend and the waitress both said the Huevos Rancheros was good , so I tried it. It was yummy! The tortilla on the bottom was crispy and the sauce had a kick to it but was perfect with the perfectly cooked poached eggs. It had a lot going on but it all came together and was fabulous! My husband had the chicken fried steak and it was really good too. The gravy was way too thick and pasty (for our taste) but the eggs and hash browns were perfectly cooked and the lemon poppy seed muffin was bomb!!! Service was slow and it took a while to get a refill on coffee. Beautiful view!

    Coffee cake was delicious!

Found this little gem on yelp and we were not disappointed. Everything we had was delicious. The coffee and coffee cake were so good.

We took a slight detour to check out this spot, and it was totally worth it. The omelette was excellent, the coffee was decent, and the poppyseed muffin was amazing. My daughter had the patty melt, and she loved it. Plus, the service was quick and efficient.

What a great little spot! The outdoor seating was perfect to enjoy the scenery while we ate. Highly recommend the breakfast potatoes with veggies and cheese. Greek omelette was delicious, breakfast burrito was massive! I got a Mugmosa - no complaints. Service was friendly and quick enough. Would definitely come back here!

Super cute area and GREAT FOOD! We visited this restaurant solely for the name. The outside setting was peaceful. The service was remarkable. We'd highly recommend!

Then, we had some more time to kill, so we decided to grab some lunch before heading to the airport. We had done very well listening to our local friends so far this trip, so we asked them for one more recommendation. They recommended this place. And thank goodness they did. Ambiance was super cool. A lowkey location in a strip mall, the inside struck me like a nice, hippy couple decorated it. It was pretty chill vibes, as the kids say. Each member of the hippy couple brought their ethnic background to the table here, one Italian and one Portuguese. Pretty neat combination. They were very nice folks. Very good customer service. There are only two of them, though, so if there's a line, prepare to be in for a wait. I didn't mind, since our goal was to kill time anyway. Also, a side note, the inside of the store was very hot the day we came, so we opted to order and eat outside. There are a couple of tables and chairs out there, thankfully. As for the food, I forget exactly what we ordered, but I'm like 80% sure that I ordered the Chourico & Peppers (Spicy, smoked Portuguese sausage, slow cooked with ripe tomatoes, fresh bell peppers and yellow onions). Excellent sandwich. A nice, hearty, crispy, soft baguette stuffed with the meat concoction. And the meat was very flavorful. Very smoky sausage, which might have been just too heavy on its own, but it had some help from the peppers and onions. Really good stuff. I also got to try an Italian sandwich. I'm not sure which one at all. It was a special written on the board, so I can't find it on their regular menu, but it was also good. Fresh, simple ingredients. Same, delicious bread. Solid. But I would choose the Portuguese options every time, though, since that's a rarer cuisine in this country. Overall, I'm so glad we stopped here. I love supporting small business, I love trying new things, and I love the quaint little town of Bigfork, MT.

We received the roll before my coffee even though I ordered the drink first; probably because the barista at wasn't stationary position and was taking other orders. It was then that things slowed down a bit after a large table was seated. Once we received our food we were over-all happy with everything. It's welcoming, charming and ready to serve you a lot of local love. The country fried steak has to be the most delicious have ever had. The steak is very generously portioned and is cuddled up with a blanket of sausage gravy that simply hits different. The eggs benny were very yummy too. I didn't get to have much of it since my partner plowed through the dish but the hollandaise was silky and creamy. The butter seeping into the biscuit just made it an all-star dish. The biscuits here are CRAZY GOOD. I think all of the baked goods are amazing. We came here daily during our trip (which we never double dip on a trip!). Cinnamon rolls are a sweet tooth delight. So we've been to Grateful Bread many times. Every, single, time, we leave disappointed, not in the food but in the service and the wait. The food is okay. Honestly, because of how long you have to wait to get it, I'd expect something out of this world, but it comes out as run of the mill eats. At this point, we know what to expect when we go in. What GB has going for it, is that there aren't a lot of options in town. Last week we went in before hitting up Harvest Foods, saw that there were just three tables of people and thought, ok, let's give it a shot, surely we won't have to wait TOO long. We were short on time so we ordered two Avocados toasts, one with bacon. That's it. With only three other tables in the house, it took 30 minutes. As we sat there, about 6 more tables came in. With ONE waitress. With also whom I can presume is the owner as I've seen her time and time again, also bringing out food, there was absolutely no hussle. Listen, I worked in food service for a decade. When I worked, I moved. People were waiting to have their order taken. The bell would ring that food was ready and it would sit there. The owner surely could have been taking orders too. Heck, you could even give the tips to the waitress! Maybe there is a worker shortage in Big Fork, I don't know. But girl (owner), you gotta be hustlin' to make up for it. And no offense to the waitress but girl, you too. Or hire a busser, someone to bring out food and cleanup, ring people up. In any case, it's always this way. We hadn't been in a few years and gave it a shot again. As we were walking out, I said "well that wasn't THAT bad", as in having to wait that long for food and watching people just sit there in silence wait for the waitress and then their food is a good thing. Also, not to be petty, but as a deadhead, I take a minor offense to you using the name and not being vibin'.
