Stopped here for brunch on a Saturday around 10:45am and it was packed! The wait was 45 minutes, so we just ended up placing a takeout order. I would say we waited about 15-20 minutes for our order to be ready, and it was nice that we were able to order drinks at another counter and sit at a table / read the local newspaper while waiting. There's a decent inventory of snacks / huckleberry items / souvenirs you can buy. I really liked my chai, and it came nice and hot. Sadly, I didn't love the food as much. We ordered the Mexican omelette (which was great, but I didn't really like the potatoes), the breakfast sandwich (huge portion and I could only eat a few bites), and the breakfast burrito which came with a lot of sauce. We walked in and were seated right away. The customer service was excellent throughout the meal ! We ordered a gluten free pancake with scrambled eggs, loaded hashbrowns with poached eggs, and the corned beef and hash with sunny side up eggs. We added ketchup after. The restaurant was packed but the noise was mild. When we left around 11 on a Sunday there was a significant line waiting. read more

The Inn that we were staying in recommended Sykes, and we are so glad they did. Sykes is a huge place! You can find a little bit of everything there. Besides being a diner, they also offer a pharmacy, a wine shop, and a small market. I really enjoyed their breakfast. I ordered a Belgium Waffle with fresh strawberries and a side of bacon. It's definitely a busy place, but we didn't have to wait too long to be seated. read more

Stopped in for breakfast not knowing what to expect. What a great restaurant and breakfast stop. Service is very attentive and quick to fill your coffee cup. Many choices but I went with the Hungry Man Biscuits and Gravy. I could not finish it. Would definitely recommend this place. read more

Literally the worst latte I've ever had. The milk was pretty much boiling hot and scorched my mouth. Still having trouble eating three days later because my mouth is burned so bad. Service could have been better. Would not go back or recommend the coffee to anyone. read more

For a place with a slogan of "nobody leaves a stranger", you would expect better service. We stopped into Sykes for the diner because of the reviews but it's closed Tuesday and Wednesday so we wandered over to the deli/coffee counter for sandwiches. The woman behind the counter was incredibly rude to my grandmother when she asked about the cheese options ("they're on the board") only to be told rudely they were out of the one she wanted off the board, rushed my entire family ordering, made a big deal about having to "go find pickles" (which are on the menu, how is it our fault you don't have them ready?), and then was rude to my son. Your bad day should not leak out into your customer service. Severely disappointed in the service here. Tldr; Mediocre sandwiches made on a delay and an underwhelming attitude of the woman behind the counter, not worth the trip. read more

This is the absolute best place for breakfast bar none. After living in Kalispell for years I finally had my first trip to Sykes and I am hooked! For a very reasonable price a platter with the best hashbrowns I've had the pleasure of eating beside a huge, amazingly delicious omelet with some scrumptious toast and great coffee, tops my list of favorite restaurants now. A place not to miss when in Kalispell. I believe it has been there since the 1930's and boy do they know what they are doing. Any breakfast item is awesome, I recommend the corned beef hash with eggs, made on site. Staff is very friendly and enjoy their jobs and it shows. read more

i recently attended sykes and i was shocked to have had such a great and welcoming experience and the food was amazing i had the farmers breakfast and a cup of coffee and it was amazing melt in your mouth nothing was under cooked but just right and it was very enjoyable.i had this waitress she seemed very mean i could say at first but after awhile she got happier and she checked on me every 10 minutes filled up my cup and when it came my time to pay and go i gave her a tip and her face lit up in amazement she then said thank you and i stood up and said thank for the meal and payed and left. i will return until i cant this place has really changed and gets 5 stars!!! read more

We just stopped here today, on vacation. Delicious meal. Hearty food, simple praesentation. I had a cheeseburger with Swiss cheese and mushrooms, and the meat was outstanding. Plenty of food. Extremely friendly service. Very Hometown atmosphere. Adjacent the restaurant is a kind of Gourmet Grocery Store. It has an Espresso Bar too. Service was quick and the server was congenial. The food menu was expansive and the prices were reasonable. I had the chicken strips, although they were a bit small and they should serve five instead of four with that size. Other than that this is a decent place to eat. Pay at the counter.
