I love it when small establishments hit one out of the park doing something simple, but doing it very well. This was my experience at the Central Ave Bakery & Deli for lunch today. I ordered the Adobe sandwich (with no onions, please), and I enjoyed in greatly. The size of the sandwich was perfect! I hate it when some places think that "more is better", giving you a huge sized sandwich (or burger or meal portion) of fair or sub-par quality, instead of focusing on something good, and then providing a normal-person sized portion. This sandwich was about the size of sandwich I would make myself, however the quality and taste was over-the-top good. The turkey had a sauce that was like chipotle-mayo spread, with a little zing to it. The lettuce and tomatoes tasted fresh, and the pickle was way-cool-pepper-spicy. Loved it! The staff was super friendly, and the restaurant itself is very charming. Loved everything about this place, and I hope to experience lunch here again. read more

What a cute little deli and bakery in downtown Whitefish. We stopped here for lunch and both my husband and I got the Adobe sandwich which is turkey sandwich with pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo and tomato and onion grilled on wheat grain bread. I got mine no tomatoes and my husband no onions. The sandwich was warm and delicious. The cheese was melted and the bread toasted. It was just a good sandwich! I got the Best BLT which was amazing! Great service too! All the workers were so kind. For the BLT the bread was crunchy but not too tough to bite into, and the bacon was nice and crispy. Gosh I love this place. We ate here every single day for breakfast on our vacation (5 days). The bagels and pastries are delicious along with their vanilla lattes. Everyone is so nice and remembered us and asked about the events we were doing while in whitefish. The jalapeño bagel was incredible, and so was the chocolate croissants. We picked this place for lunch out of all the other places to eat and we weren't disappointed! They have gluten free bread which you can substitute any sandwich with. You can toast any sandwich, and they're gluten free muffin was nice (Not dry like you'll get at Montana Coffee Traders) I hope they can offer more gluten free baked goods as i have myself wheat sensitivities. We walked into this place by chance and ordered a latte. It was delivered quick and was absolutely perfect. It beat the pants off Starbucks. We decided to order lunch and got a cob salad and turkey sandwich. While the order was simple the product was fabulous. The salad was a work of art and almost to pretty to eat. It was sensational with the best homemade dressing ever. The sandwich was so good I devoured it in minutes--- it had a spicy cheese and dressing that I would love to be able to make. To top it all off we had a huckleberry scone which should not be missed. The taste snd texture were truly amazing. We plan to visit again this week to order the same thing. We were driving through and stopped here. I have weird food allergies. When I ordered, the owner and staff were so polite and willing to adapt their menu to my weird allergies. So kind, no complaints. It is so rare for me to meet such accommodating chefs and staff. The food was delicious! I had a salad and my sweetie LOVED the cheesecake. Of all the places I had breakfast in this town, this was my favorite. It's not fancy (have to bus your own table) and the menu isn't large but the food and pastries are very good and reasonably priced. I would recommend any of their croissants, adobe sandwich, and caramel pecan roll. read more

Good little place! I got the tomato basil soup with a slice of bread. It was fantastic! I dropped my bread on the floor and was so bummed because it had such a fresh homemade flavor. The staff saw that it fell and gave me another. The counter was a bit chaotic, but I attribute that to the loyal clientele they have. It seems like a popular place. read more

This place has the best bagels in the Flathead valley. They are the perfect texture and flavor. All of the baked goods I have gotten from their case have been excellent. The bubbley-blonde girl who works the counter most mornings is the nicest cashier in Whitefish if you ask me. Great food, but even better customer service! We enjoyed this cute little deli so much we ate here twice during our five day stay in Whitefish. The first time we had breakfast (their quiche was delicious, and their breakfast sandwiches have a variety of options available - it was also delicious). We came back for lunch and had a BLT - which had fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and generous portions of both bacon and avocado - and black bean tomatillo chili. Twenty five cent mini cookies were the perfect end to our meal! Come to this deli - your belly will thank you, and you'll enjoy the friendly employees. read more
