Wow, really not surprised by the many one-star reviews that this place has garnered. Wish we would…read morehave checked the ratings beforehand! We came here because we wanted our after dinner treat before heading over the Bigfork summer playhouse (aside: it's amazing! We saw Footloose, and our daughter who normally falls asleep since these events are so late, stayed up riveted the whole time). There was a long line and it did not move quickly and service was not particularly friendly. To the reviewer who said the following comment, you get a gold medal: "Montana's SMALLEST scoop of ice cream." You are CORRECT. The portion is freaking tiny. Our daughter got some gross cotton candy flavor that we can't abide, but we went for a huckleberry cup and huckleberry milkshake. The ice cream itself had huckleberries that were so frozen that they crunched unpleasantly--like they had been added from a freezer bag. The milkshake, on the other hand, tasted like pure vanilla because the proportions were all off. Bottom line is that the people have spoken and this place sucks! Two stars. No thank you.

Having never been there before I wasn't sure what kind of coffee drinks were available, but they had a decent selection so I ordered an iced caramel coffee (bonus in my book). We ordered a cinnamon roll to start and share, then our main plates. We received the roll before my coffee even though I ordered the drink first; probably because the barista at wasn't stationary position and was taking other orders. It was then that things slowed down a bit after a large table was seated. Once we received our food we were over-all happy with everything. Though my husband was disappointed in the potatoes O'Brien since the onion and peppers were just added to the top of the regular breakfast potatoes instead of frying them together. I'd say 8/10, we would go again if we were back in the area.

It's welcoming, charming and ready to serve you a lot of local love. The country fried steak has to be the most delicious have ever had. The steak is very generously portioned and is cuddled up with a blanket of sausage gravy that simply hits different. The eggs benny were very yummy too. I didn't get to have much of it since my partner plowed through the dish but the hollandaise was silky and creamy. The butter seeping into the biscuit just made it an all-star dish. The biscuits here are CRAZY GOOD. I think all of the baked goods are amazing. We came here daily during our trip (which we never double dip on a trip!). Cinnamon rolls are a sweet tooth delight. I wish I could take a dozen home with me so I can make the dish last just as long as the memories.. lol I would certainly come back and will do my best to keep it a secret so the locals can dine in peace.

So we've been to Grateful Bread many times. Every, single, time, we leave disappointed, not in the food but in the service and the wait. The food is okay. Honestly, because of how long you have to wait to get it, I'd expect something out of this world, but it comes out as run of the mill eats. At this point, we know what to expect when we go in. What GB has going for it, is that there aren't a lot of options in town. Last week we went in before hitting up Harvest Foods, saw that there were just three tables of people and thought, ok, let's give it a shot, surely we won't have to wait TOO long. We were short on time so we ordered two Avocados toasts, one with bacon. That's it. With only three other tables in the house, it took 30 minutes. As we sat there, about 6 more tables came in. With ONE waitress. With also whom I can presume is the owner as I've seen her time and time again, also bringing out food, there was absolutely no hussle. Listen, I worked in food service for a decade. When I worked, I moved. People were waiting to have their order taken. The bell would ring that food was ready and it would sit there. The owner surely could have been taking orders too. Heck, you could even give the tips to the waitress! Maybe there is a worker shortage in Big Fork, I don't know. But girl (owner), you gotta be hustlin' to make up for it. And no offense to the waitress but girl, you too. Or hire a busser, someone to bring out food and cleanup, ring people up. In any case, it's always this way. We hadn't been in a few years and gave it a shot again. As we were walking out, I said "well that wasn't THAT bad", as in having to wait that long for food and watching people just sit there in silence wait for the waitress and then their food is a good thing. Also, not to be petty, but as a deadhead, I take a minor offense to you using the name and not being vibin'.
