We had a great dinner at Echo & Rig. The food was absolutely delicious, and I really appreciated that they offer a gluten-free menu with plenty of options. Service was good. The ambiance was beautiful and made for a really enjoyable evening. The only downside was that there didn't seem to be any air conditioning or fans, so it was uncomfortably warm inside. If they improved the temperature, it would easily be a 5-star experience. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the food and atmosphere!

Dinner for 4. - Ambiance (4*) Cozy booths with nice lighting. Easy to have conversation. - Service (3*) Courteous, but a bit clumsy with pacing. Waters constantly refilled. Entrees served as I was still enjoying my soup. - Onion Soup, $10 (3*) Good flavor. Cheese seemed like it had been pre-melted then added on top? It was hard and separate from the soup. Soup was also served lukewarm, which heightened my suspicious further. - Zabuton Steak, $42 (3*) Cool to see several types of unique cuts on the menu. Described as soft like A5, it was anything but. Cooked perfectly medium rare though. Came with a sad looking pile of potato chips. - Value (3*) About right for a steakhouse. - Final Word Identity crisis- trying to be refined but perhaps also casual at the same time?

I took an uber here from my hotel but I believe there is a large paid parking lot. The ambiance in this place is elevated c modern and beautiful. I sat at the bar and ordered a delicious cocktail. The bartender suggested I get a steak and it was cooked to perfection and delicious. I also ordered the cauliflower and it was SO GOOD! Highly recommend! I can't wait to try this place again!

Had a great time. Delicious tomahawk with sauces-blue cheese was the best! Mashed potatoes. Yummy cauliflower and beet salad. Service was fabulous. Attentive and gave us a complimentary birthday dessert! Nice restaurant! Only thing was they opened the big window behind the bar which was pretty but it was 92 out and it let flies in.

Had an amazing experience at Echo & Rig. Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak had an incredible crust, was tender and full of flavor, and the mac & cheese was absolutely -- creamy with the perfect crispy topping. The sides were excellent too. Huge shoutout to the chef and the entire staff! You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the service. Everyone made us feel welcome and the whole experience was great from beginning to end. Definitely one of those places you leave already wanting to come back. Highly recommend!

We had brunch before graduation at Golden 1 and it was great choice. The place was elegant and modern, very clean. Service was perfect, both efficient and courteous at all times. Belgian waffle was huge and tasted like dessert for breakfast, fruit was fresh and butter and whipped cream both was creamy and nicely whipped. Nice waffle. The ricotta pancakes were huge. Fluffy with great flavor. Excellent syrup to match pancakes and the whipped cream and butter were great adds. Chicken sandwich was flavorful with the most amazing aoili which was slightly sweet and rich at same time. Served with freah chips. Streak and frites was the only knock. I had the steak medium but still a bit tough and not as tender as expected. But the eggs and fries made up for it. I had eggs scrambled and it was fluffy. The shoestring fries were crispy and yum! Overall a great experience in a nice place. With tip, came out to $117 for 4 peoples.

On a work trip to Sacramento I was thrilled when I learned that there was an echo and rig in the area I was going to be visiting. Having been to the one in Las Vegas last summer I had been dreaming of their signature burger since. It was everything I remembered it being; juicy, flavorful, perfect umami taste in every bite. My colleagues enjoyed their meals as well, with the lamb and shrimp cesar being top favorites. We are only here for two days and can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Crab cake; corn, bacon, and rainbow chard, portabello fries

The place was filled and lively on a Monday night! It was too loud inside so I sat outside. The tables were a little dirty/had dirt/dust, I wish they had wiped them down before seating me. The service was nice and attentive, apologized for the food being a tiny bit slow (but I didn't mind, I had a book with me). The food was overpriced ($15 for a single crab cake) and very salty, and the small plate w/ the rainbow chard needed more actual chard and less bacon. But it was nice enough and if I had been craving something more salty, it would've been great. I'm not sure if I'll go back. If I do, it'd be more for drinks w/ a friend when I'm not thinking about budget, and less for dinner (and I'll ask for more water and order one less small plate (I ordered 3)). Saw someone else say it's a shame they don't have a happy hour, and I agree - that would probably be just the right slightly lower price point for the small portion sizes of the small plates.

Consistent spot in Sac... Came here for lunch. Ordered a few apps and one main. Favorites were the bone marrow, burnt ends and the crab cake. Oysters were good, just they only had the one option, and size wise they were at the max of what I can handle. The only food item we didn't love was the steak. We ordered it medium rare, and it was rare and a tad cold. That was probably due to the service. Our waiter was the only one covering the entire floor, which included a big party in the back. That led to long wait times for food. Overall place is nice, food is consistent, just maybe a tad understaffed.

We had a lovely lunch at Echo & Rig recently. I ordered the Drunken Goat, while my husband sampled the Pure Black Bavette and my son had their Creekstone Prime New York Strip. We sat on the outdoor patio as we had our small dog with us and it was a bit warm but most of the shaded options were taken. The service was solid. Our waiter Justin took our order but unfortunately after a while was advised by the kitchen that they were out of the Red Wine-Marinated Goat Cheese for my meal. He apologized and brought me a menu to choose something else but I was worried that my boys would have to continue to wait for their meals if I ordered anything too large so I asked for their Pork Belly Burnt Ends appetizer. I also asked him if they could bring out the plates for the gentleman when they were ready and not wait for me as it was getting pretty warm and we were quite hungry. He made sure that happened and my boys got their meals soon after. He also made my app on the house which was very sweet. He is excellent at his job. The meat was all cooked to perfection and the Charred Onion sauce was delicious! When my appetizer came out it was small but flavorful and my son and husband really enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be back to try more of the offerings here in the future.

Came for our anniversary dinner. We loved it! The ambience, lighting, music and great selection of drinks. Ribeye : medium cooked with red wine sauce. Amazing cook, tender and very flavorful! Would order again. Mac and Cheese: creamy and nice touch of crunch from breadcrumbs. Mashed potatoes: best side! A must try. Mushroom fries: it came with this green basil sauce/aïoli which made it good for a non mushroom eater. Our waiter was super sweet. We were given a free dessert to celebrate our anniversary! FYI they validate parking tickets

Rib eye

Excellent steakhouse. We loved our food. We all ordered the rib-eye. It was cooked to perfection. The ribeye had lots of flavor. We did not even need the sauce on the side. The chips are very good as well. They have a nice crunch. The house old fashioned is amazing. Not too sweet. The prices are a little steep for dinner. If you want to go a little cheaper, check out their lunch menu. I've tried the spot in Vegas and I was happy to find the one here in Sacramento. I've tried all the cuts over time, and my favorite is the ribeye due to flavor of the meat. Definitely treat yourself with a yummy steak. They take reservations. The wait staff were really nice and on it.

I've passed by this place so many times. It looked fancy and a little intimidating. And today I finally decided to go in. Food and drink were pretty good and the place is beautifully decorated. Thoughts from first visit: I stopped by in the afternoon for a drink and snack while I read. The place is not busy at the time of my visit which is nice. For snack I got: Oysters- the oysters are fresh however there are little pieces of shells everywhere. It comes with two sauces I love the red wine vinegar. Just be careful of shells when eating it~ Samosa Cigar- such fun shape in samosa. It is fried perfectly. The inside is not as flavorful as a traditional samosa but it is still very delicious. Along with the sauce is chefs kiss! For drinks I got: Pig & The Lady- it's is tropical and delicious! Tart from the passion fruit. This drink is so good! A unique creation the bartender whipped up, it's like a cosmo but with tequila. When I was ordering a second sip, they ran out of gin for that drink. So the bartender said I'll whip something up. Very cool. Service is nice and helpful. The place is connected to the Sawyer hotel so you would go across the hotel lobby to use the restroom. A nice little walk cuz the hotel is beautiful too~ Considering this is a fancy place, the food and drinks are priced as expected. I would definitely come back for the Pig & The Lady~ Updated and more thought from second visit: I did come back for Pig & The Lady and more reading. And service is incredible this time. It was a 4.2 star last visit but this visit is for sure 5 stars! Above and beyond service. I was asked if I had any allergies after ordering, which is very thoughtful. I got the crab cake this time and it was delicious. Just as delicious as the samosa cigar from last time. I also got the bread service this time and I really enjoyed their bread. It's toasted so well and delightfully tasty with salted butter. Very much enjoyed this visit!

The server said the chicken fried steak was really good, so that was my choice. I thought that I would also enjoy the pork sausage gravy served on top of it since I love biscuit and gravy. I was quite disappointed in my choice because the steak as very tough, and dry, like it was not made in-house but probably frozen, and deep fried in house. The generous serving of gravy on top was lacking any flavor and was on the pasty side, so it didn't help the steak in any way. My toast was cold, which was not too much an issue, but the hardness of the toast was like day old left over toast. I told the server the steak was pretty tough but he chose to ignore my comment twice. I did like the potatoes, which were nice and crispy, but if anything, would've like a fresher piece of toast. One of our guest gave me her butter and that did not spread well on the hard toast. I took the steak home, and heated it a little because I was still hungry, but after one bite, I just tossed it. Just wasn't good. The guest next to me did order the omelette, and her omelette did look very good. I was just unhappy with my meal, for the price, which would've been worth it, if it were good.

Our waitress came over shortly after. I see a lot of mixed reviews about the service, and I think some staff members are friendlier and more outgoing than others, but even the less friendly servers were still attentive, helpful, and quick. I think it just depends on who you get and whether you value a really friendly interaction or care more about the food and basic service. We tried a cappuccino since the host said they make all their coffee in-house, and it was pretty good, especially coming from someone who doesn't drink coffee. We chose the fried green tomatoes as our starter, and they were delicious. I'd never had them before but had always heard how iconic of a Southern dish they are. They were really well balanced with the aioli and feta, and the tomatoes themselves were juicy and fresh. I had to go with the shrimp po' boy, which was also really good. The shrimp were pretty big and tasted fresh, complemented well by the really light, airy, buttery bread and fresh vegetables inside. The fries were also a plus!
