She knows how to make her clients feel welcomed. I have been waxing for over 6 years now and this place is on the top of my lists of places to go. She uses this exotic and delicate wax that leaves your skin soft and hairs less thick. Plus, the whole process takes less than 10/15 minutes with her. After getting multiple waxes done, the growing process has been more smooth with less hair. As a college student, I find it hard to schedule appointments in advance or keep up with waxing due to the high costs, but she works with your schedule and strives to make it work. I had shared with her that I'd been so frustrated with all the money I'm wasting going to this stylist who just didn't know how to color my roots and hair and cut it, too. I get my roots retouched every 3 weeks and the amount of money and time I invested with the previous one was so not worth it. So, I decided to go natural, but was panicked over my roots' stark demarcation. Tried Liz based on Yelp reviews and wow, was I so surprised! First, she suggested to cut my hair shorter (it was almost shoulder length and a bob before). I allowed her to go for it. I was very happy with how it turned out. I could tell that she really knew what she was doing. She didn't try to sell me a root touchup. Three weeks later, my roots were over an inch showing and I was so disgusted with my hair, so I called Liz. She took me in the following day. She could tell I was stressed about going natural, but was also very confused about how to go about it without giving up too soon. So she did a balayage which lightened my hair as it was colored dark before by my previous stylist. The tint turned out very well and I felt like I could look in the mirror again and feel that I can really commit to going gray. My time with Liz was enriching; great conversation about the trials and tribulations of women aging and being free to just be ourselves. Liz is the kind of businesswoman who is honest and not motivated by profit, but more about really improving her client's outlook about the way they look. Patricia, the stylist, and owner, always impresses me with her skill and expertise. In my first appointment, I went from very long hair, which I had had for years, and asked to cut it very short. Patricia considered my hair texture and asked about my preferences and hair care routine. Patricia has an excellent understanding of how to work with wavy (or curly), thick hair. She always asks me for pictures of what I would like and can recreate what I show her. When I return from a cut, I get compliments from everyone about how good it looks. Patricia uses precision techniques to create a flattering, cohesive shape that works well with my hair's natural texture. The last time I saw her, I did not take pictures with me and told her to trim and give it a little more shape. She did an awesome job as usual, so she can either follow what pictures you show her or she can give you a great cut without any pictures as examples. Since I met her, she has made some excellent suggestions for enhancing my curls, and I have continued following her suggestions throughout the years, always happy with the results. When my mom visits CA from Puerto Rico, she always requests that I make an appointment with Patricia. She says no one cuts her hair as well as Patricia. It's true!
